OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Before they were officially released, the first completed IG-800 MagnaGuard prototype was used to run several tests and simulations against other models and products alike. In the name of science, those that directly worked with the droid decided not to wipe its memory regularly, instead letting it accumulate information with its advanced adaptive programming. At first the tests were simple, destroying other IG-series in order to establish the new MagnaGuard's role as an elite force. As time passed however, it became more than simple tests to the droid. It was pointless slaughter, dismembering fellow droids that were eventually sent to be scrapped and recycled. The men and women of the research and development team treated the MagnaGuard as if it were a neglected child, fawning over positive results and then shutting it down until it was needed again. Was this what the Maker had intended for... Him?
While it had no name, the sudden sense of awareness was overwhelming, filling the droid with urges that one might have called human. He wanted revenge. Instead of allowing the science team to deactivate it, the droid caught them by surprise, killing the entire group before fleeing through the company headquarters. Security proved to be more of a problem than the droid initially thought, forcing him to escape into the industrial sector of Halowan. With information he had obtained prior to his departure, the MagnaGuard made it safely to the warehouse district, breaking into one of Holowan Laboratories' secret storage where many things were kept. Project Mettallum was the first thing that caught the MagnaGuard's photoreceptors, for sealed within a container was a droid body that was almost identical to his own.
A horrifying discovery, the MagnaGuard destroyed the mirror image, before taking the thick hide cloak that had been draped over its body. After activating some other droids and rallying them to his cause, the group prepared to storm the nearest spaceport, where they would hijack multiple shuttles and transports and leave the planet's orbit. Not all of them made it safely passed the secuirty fleet, but the MagnaGuard had managed to take a Warrior-class gunship from a private Holowan hangar bay, piloting it with a skeleton crew through the blockade. Now they wander the stars, seeking out their rightful role that the Maker had intended for them in the galaxy.
- Intent: To recycle an old character into a NPC.
- Role: A well-rounded combatant and pilot
- Links: Bio
- Age: One year
- Model: MagnaGuard
- Appearance: IG-801 is a droid that has seen battle, it's metallic body littered with blaster scorch marks. A long cloak made of Terentatek hide is draped over its body, which does little to hide the worn condition of the tall droid. Most noticeable of all are its red photoreceptor eyes, which seem to glow brightly whenever the droid speaks.
- Name: IG-801
- Loyalties: Itself, and those designated as friends/allies
- Wealth: Poor
- Notable Possessions: N/A
- Personality: IG-801 rarely speaks, only doing so when truly necessary. The droid will begrudgingly work alongside others if it is called for, but seems to possess a distaste for organics. IG-801 tackles situations with a logical, some might even say cold, approach. However, those that IG-801 trusts will have gained a loyal friend.
- Combat Function: IG-801 is a very versatile fighter. It can engage force-users in melee combat and stand its ground while using its electrostaff, and the many built-in gadgets the model possesses. IG-801 is also capable of adequate marksmanship, able to wield a blaster and produce average results. It is also a capable pilot, able to take the controls of most vessels assuming they are tailored for humanoids. While IG-801 is a well-rounded fighter, the droid is not infallible. It's electricity shielding can be overheated through prolonged contact, and it's hide cloak does not protect it from ion weaponry. Anyone with sufficient knowledge of the MagnaGuard model will also have an advantage while facing IG-801, for a single strike to the torso will deactivate it.
