[SIZE=9pt]Description:[/SIZE][SIZE=9pt] The II-PDS is a personal defense shield that was created by Iscariot Industries to fill the gap in the market for energy fields as well to provide protection to the members of the Shadow Dynasty. Personal shields are nowhere near knew to the galaxy, but the ones created by Iscariot Industries are powered by the SA-XVA powercell, and instead of covering the full body the energy field is projected outwards in a manner of a actual shield. Of course the downsides to such a thing is that it can only be used in one direction at a time and leaves the user to be flanked. Another disadvantage is the short life that these tools seem to have due to their high power drain. Especially when dealing with the II-PDS, as it also uses the reverse polarity nature that the Chiss shields had at one point used. The II-PDS can maybe at best take up to twenty seconds worth of continuous damage before having to be shut off and having to recharge. Anything longer will cause the powercell to overheat and possibly explode on the user. The benefits such a shield offers is that with the reverse polarity it can also block physical rounds such as slugthrowers or physical strikes by metal weapons. One must remember though that even though you can block these types of attacks that the kinetic damage will still pass through and you will feel it. For example if you tried to use this shield to block a grenade explosion you may survive the explosion, but can you survive the kinetic force behind it, or being flung away? Other than this it is the same as any other energy shield as it can block energy based weapons. The shield can’t grow in size but can shrink to that of a small circle if needed for a smaller surface area, which also gives it a slightly longer life.[/SIZE]
