Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Designed in conjunction with the Special Operations "Spook" Viper, the IJ-X1 is a specialized ion-jet engine meant to operate on stealth craft. The engine keeps a fair amount of durability from other CST designs, but it's baffles allow the engine to mask it's own energy signature. While this baffling tech does create a fairly stealthy option, the IJ-X1 does loose power when running with it's baffling systems on, slowing any craft that operates the drive. At the same time, the system has only really be tested on strikecraft, and the engine lacks the power to be used on anything much larger than a light freighter (And even then in engine clusters).
- Intent: Create a stealth sublight drive for starfighters.

- Model: IJ-X1 Baffled Ion-Jet Engine
- Modularity: No
- Production: Limited
- Material: Ion engine components, baffles
- Baffles: Each IJ-X1 is equipt with a baffle system to mask the engines energy signature. Using the system reduces the engines power output do to redirecting thrust. (Speed -1, more difficult to detect.)
- Stealth capability.
- Fairly durable design.
- Only capable of being mounted to strikecraft.
- Lose of speed needed to activate baffles.
