Completed Threads

    • Auratera | The Last Day in the Enclave - On the eve of her departure to Coruscant, Ilaria Morvayne meticulously prepares her belongings, ensuring every detail is in place—a reflection of the strict discipline instilled in her by the Auratera Enclave. Unlike the structured world she has known, Coruscant's Jedi Temple is said to be liberal, lenient, and dangerously flexible with the Jedi Code.

Her mentor, Master Ralorin, visits her one last time, offering a final warning: the Jedi of Coruscant have grown weak, allowing sentimentality and attachment to erode their discipline. He cautions her not to be softened by their misguided ways, but to uphold the refinement and control she was trained to master.

Ilaria listens, unwavering in her resolve. She is determined to remain unshaken, to prove that true strength lies in control.

As she prepares to leave the only home she has ever known, a thought lingers—is the New Jedi Order truly unified, or has Coruscant already lost its way?

Her journey begins with certainty. But certainty does not last forever.

    • A Return to the Temple | Among the Order | Epilogue | (FT: Shan Pavond Shan Pavond ) - As Ilaria Morvayne begins to navigate the Coruscant Jedi Temple, she encounters Shan Pavond, a Knight whose philosophy sharply contrasts with the teachings of the Auratera Enclave. He is calm, thoughtful, and unwavering in his belief that mercy and trust in others are not weaknesses, but strengths.

Their conversation quickly becomes a quiet duel of ideals.

Ilaria speaks of control as the highest form of strength, of emotions as wild, unpredictable things that must be mastered or risk influencing the mind. Shan disagrees, claiming that connection, not control, is what makes a Jedi strong. He believes that isolation leads only to fragility, that emotions cannot be eliminated, only understood.

But it is when they speak of corruption that something shifts.

Shan does not see it as an enemy to be purged, as the Enclave had taught her. He sees it as a sickness—an inevitability, something that will always return no matter how hard one fights against it. Corruption, in his eyes, is not just the Dark Side. It is greed, pride, fear—things that exist in every person, even Jedi.

      Ilaria does not argue.

      She does not agree, either.

For the first time, she chooses to end the conversation not because she has won, but because she is uncertain.

She returns to her quarters, intent on reaffirming her training. But the word lingers.

      Corruption.

    • A Return to the Temple | First Impressions | Epilogue | (FT: Braze Braze ) - Upon her arrival at the Coruscant Jedi Temple, Ilaria Morvayne quickly observes the stark differences between the structured, disciplined teachings of the Auratera Enclave and the more flexible philosophy of the New Jedi Order. It is a place of motion, of camaraderie—far removed from the rigid refinement she has known.

It is here that she meets Braze, a Padawan raised within the Temple, who speaks of balance, connection, and the necessity of understanding emotions rather than suppressing them. He explains that the Jedi are not meant to be machines of pure logic and control, but rather sentinels of light who guide others through compassion.

Ilaria listens, her poise unshaken, but she does not agree. The Enclave had warned her of this—Jedi who believe that love and friendship are the greatest weapons, who see discipline as an obstacle rather than a necessity.

When Braze speaks of corruption, he does not define it as something external, something to be purged, but as an intrinsic part of all beings. It is not only found in Sith artifacts or dark rituals, but in fear, hatred, pride—the emotions that dwell in every heart. To him, resisting the Dark Side is not about eradication, but about acknowledgment, understanding, and choosing not to give in.

      Ilaria finds his perspective misguided.

She ends the conversation, convinced that the Enclave was right—the Jedi of Coruscant have lost their discipline, mistaking sentiment for strength.

And yet, as she leaves, the word corruption lingers in her thoughts once again.

It had felt so natural to say.

      Too natural.

She believes she has closed the conversation.

But some doors do not close so easily.

    • A Return to the Temple | Blowing Off Steam | Epilogue | (FT: Max Akratonos Max Akratonos ) - Ilaria had never held illusions about the Jedi of Coruscant. She had seen them for what they were—hesitant, indulgent, drowning in their emotions while pretending to reject them. She had arrived on this vessel expecting little more than the usual displays of inefficiency and self-righteousness. Instead, she found herself face to face with Fleet Captain Max Akratonos—a man who, despite his command, carried himself with the weight of someone constantly at odds with the very system he served.

Their encounter had not been planned, but neither had it been entirely unanticipated. She had questioned his lack of discipline, the way he carried himself as if duty were something to be endured rather than embodied. She had spoken with the careful restraint drilled into her since childhood, challenging the notion that stress and exhaustion were the marks of a leader rather than weaknesses to be eliminated. And yet, rather than meeting her arguments with refined reason, he had offered frustration, exasperation—emotion.

He had spoken of the burden of command, of the lives he carried on his shoulders, of the responsibility that crushed him beneath its weight. He had accused the Jedi of being detached, of not understanding what it meant to suffer as he did, to feel as he did. She had listened, not because she believed his words carried wisdom, but because she wanted to understand the flaws in his reasoning. And when he had finished, she had corrected him.

The Jedi of Coruscant were not detached. That was their problem. They allowed themselves to feel too much, to be crippled by grief, by guilt, by the self-inflicted burdens of their own making. That was why they hesitated. That was why they failed. He believed his empathy made him strong, but she knew better. Empathy, when left unchecked, was nothing but a chain. It was the root of indecision, of compromise, of weakness.

But when she had revealed her own heritage, when she had invoked the name of Saul Karath, she had seen something shift in him. Not fear, no—caution. As if the weight of history itself had settled into the room between them. He had warned her to keep such things quiet, to understand that her bloodline was not one that many in the Outer Rim would forgive. But she did not need their forgiveness. Nor did she care for their resentment.

She had left him with a warning of her own. To assume he understood her was a mistake. To think that she was merely another Jedi was an even greater one. She upheld the true teachings of the Enclave—the pursuit of mastery above all else, the perfection of the self before concerning oneself with the affairs of the galaxy. When he had told her she was no Jedi, she had merely corrected him. She was not a Jedi of Coruscant. She was something else entirely.

And when he had dared to let Saul Karath's name pass his lips, she had made herself very clear.

Some names were not his to speak. Some histories did not belong to him.
