At its core, the Ilona Defensive Shield System is a molecular shield. An already powerful shield with added perks, part of the Ilona Shield System is the built-in shield-leech technology that takes from an enemy’s shield energy and converts it to its own energy. A modified anti-energy field in combination with xythan force shield technology works to not only absorb all energy but return it as well. The system also includes its own shield booster, and a shield projector.
The Defensive Shield System works as a standard molecular shield - so it is recommended to pair this system with a deflector shield to gain a well-rounded defense. The Ilona has three modes that can be activated. The first of which is its ‘commander mode,’ where the shield projector - projects its shields over nearby allies for a short duration in order to boost their shields along with the host ship’s own shields.
The second mode featured on the Ilona, harkens back to Primo Victorian’s first shield system, the Semira. Wherein, like the Semira, the Ilona is able to convert plasmatic energy (including ion and emp weapons energy), into its own shield power. Additionally, when activated, this mode will also trigger the system’s shield leech mechanism. The mode is known as ‘Semira.”
The third and final mode known as the; Retribution Mode, absorbs and returns enemy weapons fire. When fired upon this mode is able to absorb all energy weapons and return that same energy back toward opposing forces. This mode utilizes xythan shield force and anti-energy field technologies to make that happen.
With three different modes and a molecular core, the Ilona would certainly be an energy drain on any engine. Therefore the defensive comes equipped with its own energy generator, relying only on starship or space station engines when necessary.
All in all the Ilona is a step forward for Primo Victorian’s defensive systems. Combining older technologies with new innovations.
