Interstellar Manufacturers of Pantora, otherwise referred to as IMP, are top-tier manufacturers and have been actively doing so for centuries. Most manufacturing is done on space stations and massive cargo ships equipped with impressive manufacturing facilities. This allows ambitious construction efforts where gravity is an irrelevant obstacle. With years upon years of experience and good facilities and routines, IMP is well-known for their high quality manufacturing and can easily access good materials through both nearby and distant systems.
Functioning as a largely independent subsidiary of Firaxan Industries the company does not abide by any true moral code. Instead, it operates in accordance to a strict goal of maximising its profit margins while maintaining a good reputation of high quality products. This means that IMP will avoid scandals, criminal charges and other costly situations while also working with ruthless efficiency and making the most out of every resource it comes across and exploiting every loophole which is safe to exploit. Its day-to-day management is lead by a board of directors. While rare, it is possible for the owners - Firaxan Industries - to exercise influence over the board and the company at large.
Over the years, the company has branched out and has delved into multiple areas - still it is primarily manufacturing although it has developed expertise withing multiple areas and is known to create vehicles, parts and other technology - at times even personal weapons. While it often works with larger scale production IMP can also work with low-scale production with a relatively high cost efficiency and is known to do custom work on starships. They do offer a number of in-house produced designs but often either produces items on a license or items ordered en masse.
RATIONALE
IMP was founded centuries ago and has since grown from a local Pantoran company to a interstellar company based more off of space-bound production facilities. After a number of turbulent years it was purchased from
Terence
for a relatively hefty price and has since been operating smoothly. IMP focuses on maximising its profit margins while maintaining a good reputation to ensure sustainability in its business model.
