When the New Imperial Order made its expansion into Sith Imperial territory, the need for a larger military industrial complex was needed to fill the demands of the NIO's ever expanding military. In order to fulfill this demand, a few imperial authorities negotiated with a few local defense contractors in the new territories to form an industry association with financial support of the New Imperial Order to get off the ground. The board consisted of various New Imperial political figures and defense industry leaders who had strict oversight over the company's operations to ensure quotas and demand were met. For a long time the IDIA had been on a steady climb at first using NIO materials and resources to manufacture weapons until they started to expand production and their capabilities.
The NIO pulled their involvement from the IDIA and became a private enterprise, expanding their capabilities into researching and developing new military technologies to assist the NIO and their associates. As they continue to expand their services to accommodate the galactic market, the IDIA seeks to become the forefront of defense technology and an industry leader with the interests of the New Imperial Order.
RATIONALE
Isaiah Dax assisted in the foundation of the Imperial Defense and Industry Alliance and served as one of its key representatives, playing a big part in merging multiple defense contractors in NIO space to form the IDIA. His primary role however was to mediate the transition from a state-owned enterprise to a private one, and for his efforts he was the most powerful representative for the IDIA, taking contracts and representing the company in their dealings.
