The Imperial "Beta" Frigate is not meant to be specialized, it is simply the original design and schematics, however reinforced, with galactic standard weaponry and ensured to have all of the 'kinks' worked out, if any. Boasting a decent compliment of starfighters, it can be an excellent patrol vessel or transport. It's a sturdy ship to be used as a towing/escort combination, as well as fleet support or anti-starfighter roles. To many, an Imperial-class Frigate can be seen as professional for security objectives and escort operations.
