Imperial Inquisiton

The Imperial Inquisition

Note: To let it be known, this is a small and highly secretive organization. Seldom few know of it's existence. Fewer still live to tell the tale. Only Two living souls outside the Inquisition know it exists at all.

Established around 19BBY by the Sith Emperor himself, Palpatine, the august body of the Inquisitorius was a force dedicated to the hunting and eradication of not only the Jedi threat but the threat of rogue force users across the galaxy. While they have disappeared from time to time from the galaxy at large, there have always been Inquisitors serving their mandates since the beginning. Once an Inquisitor, always an Inquisitor.

Now after the plague, they have returned to rebuild their organization and once more are safeguarding the Empire with the old Emperor's Will still in mind, waiting for a time when another true Emperor will rise to power. Now with a new Emperor rising to power the Inquisition stands on the edge, they can follow or perish. Soon they shall be his right hand once more, should he prove himself worthy.

Authority

However, with growing powers in the universe, the Inquisition was tasked with the monitoring and policing of all Force-Users in the galaxy, as well as the prosecution of Imperial policy with Force-Sensitive groups and institutions. True agents loyal to the Emperor, the Inquisition still preserves its old directives of hunting of force users for conversion or execution, and the direction of the Emperor's Will. While with Atrisia's current allies, the Jedi are not targeted unless they present themselves a threat to the Empire.

The Inquisition answers directly to the reigning Emperor and the Grand Inquisitor, and often use many of the Imperial branches of the military as well as some private sector jobs as a mask. This allows them to hide themselves in plain view, as well as protect themselves from the public. They are, however their own organization. They have the further authority to conduct extreme extraordinary rendition of High Value prisoners, the hunting and assassination of enemy leaders and the negotiations with Dark Side users like the Sith and Nightsisters and even those Jedi who pose a direct threat to Atrisia and the Emperor's goals.

Operations

The Inquisitors traditionally operate external to most of the military hierarchy, following the direct commands of the Grand Inquisitor, and are known for being a group of maverick individuals rather than a disciplined fighting force. Each Inquisitorial cell have been known consist of solo Inquisitors, with their Novitiates and Interrogators, or with a small retinue of highly trained agents.

The Inquisition was formerly based in the Citadel Inquisitorius, on Prakith. There were chapter houses on Coruscant and on Hydra. While temples still remain behind in those places, their current home is hidden deep in the crags of a mountain range on Atrisia, far from civilization as they could possibly get to keep them secret and safe. The Citadel while beautiful on the outside, is everything you would expect of a darkside stronghold on the inside. Statues of Grand Inquisitors past, Emperors, dark artworks. With an Atrisian flare, a certain level of elegance was maintained in the decor of the building,

It is reachable by foot on a single narrow and highly dangerous mountain pass. The pass itself is constantly watched and guarded. The path is rarely used these days. But in the past it was used to bring in supplies, building materials for expansion, etc. Now days everything is brought in on point to point transports. Only those cleared to land, get anywhere near the place as the Inquisitions own fighters are always on patrol to guard their sacred home.

Equipment

Members of the Inquisition were usually armored in Ultrachrome and carried Taozin nodules to void their presence to Force users. They also use lightsabers though sparingly. They are always hidden from sight on the Inquisitor's person, never out in the open. Also are given slugthrowers as they are harder for force user to deal with.
The Ultrachrome armor they are assigned depends on the organization they work for. Each has their own design to match their branches. Like for example the Army has their armor styled just like the current Stormtrooper armor.

Day to Day Life

The Inquisition life is one of secrets and cloak and dagger activities. An Inquisitor does not walk around anywhere with Jedi/Sith robes on and a saber clipped to their belt. The general public of Atrisia would start a lynch mob, and you'd end up dead fast. The ability to blend in and remain secret is not only for the protection of the public but for the Protection of Inquisition as a whole.

Outside of the Inquisition, only two living souls know of the existence of the Inquisition, Emperor Kahoshi, and the Inspector, who is the Emperor's eyes and ears as to what happens within the walls of the highly protected and secret citadel high in the mountain crags.

Outside of the Citadel it is important to keep in mind that the general populations of the Atrisian Empire have been raised not to trust those with magical force powers. Force users simply put are weapons to Atrisia. And weapons must be controlled or destroyed. It's that simple. So force users are all kept within the Inquisition, and held on an incredibly tight leash. There is no room for error, much less failure.

Inside the Citadel, the Inquisitors keep with the old traditions. They wear the robes styled after the robes Palpatine's Inquisition wore. Each rank within the Inquisition get's their own colors assigned to then but the robe style is very much the same, minus the hat. The hat was one thing that did not remain over the years.

Grand Inquisitor - Red, Black, Gold Trimmed
Inquisitor Vizier - Red with Black Trim
High Inquisitor - Black with Red Trim
Chief Inquisitor - Navy Blue and Forest Green
Inquisitor General – Violet and Yellow
Senior Inquisitor - Orange and Black
Inquisitor – Yellow and White
Junior Inquisitor – Green and Ivory
Interrogator – Blue and Purple
Inquisitorial Agent – Grey
Inquisitorial Recruit - Brown

Integration into the Population

Each Inquisition upon completion of their training receives a cover ID. They may choose to keep their real name for outside the Citadel, and choose a new name within. Or alternatively they may selection a new identity for life outside the Citadel. This cover ID is part of their jobs, their new life.

Inquisitors have the choice of working within the Imperial Intelligence, Imperial Security, the Navy, the Army, or even highly placed private sector positions. This allows the Inquisition to keep watch over every part of Atrisian life, and search that much more effectively for force users. It allows them to keep a constant watch, on the lookout for new recruits that they can bring home, for they will be rewarded greatly for their efforts if they can bring the Grand Inquisitor a new toy.

That said it means you will wear the uniform of the branch that you are assigned to. Even the Inquisition Ultrachrome armor is styled after the traditional Stormtrooper armor to be able to blend it. Inquisitors are not meant to be out in the public showing off the force skills. That will get you executed upon the Grand Inquisitor's blade should it be found out.

Note: For your cover ID talk with either Akio Kahoshi, Mirien Valdier, or your trainer and they will help you find something that fits you the best.

General Attitude

This is more of a footnote than anything else, since I'm not sure I've been absolutely clear on the matter. We are not Sith. We do make them look like kittens with how harshly we act. We actually care about every single tiny thing you do, and remember you are constantly watched, everyone in the Atrisian Empire is. The Sith could care less if you go out and kill children. We will kill you for it. And superiority complexes go out the window.

We are the hidden weapon, the underdogs who are wrapped in a choke leash. We are highly valued but never trusted. Even the Grand Inquisitor cannot escape that reality. Remember you are on an ungodly tight leash, so tight you can barely breathe. Every moment of every day and every single thing you do is life or death. Do not give the Grand Inquisitor a reason to have you executed, because push comes to shove she'll do it.
