SPECIAL FEATURES
- 2 Forward Floodlights
- Rear Hatch
- Shield Generator
- Armored Personnel Carrier: Fast, mobile, and equipped with enough armor and shields to survive an IED or a tank round, the Cutlass' overall frame resembles its predecessor, the Broadsword, but possesses notable differences in execution that allow it to excel in its role as an APC.
- Tanks: Even the shield generator will not withstand the force of more than a few direct impacts from a tank round. After the shield generator fails, the Cutlass' light armor leave it highly exposed to tank fire and high yield small arms munitions.
- Coverage: All of the Cutlass' weapons are mounted on the turret and while it has an exception traversing speed, it still takes times to reorient the weapons in any given direction, which means that whenever the turret is pointing one way the APC is vulnerable in the others.
- Aircraft: The APC has no defense against aircraft other than a lucky hit with the main cannon or rocket system.
The 3d Brigade of the 1st Armored Infantry Division is attached to the 7th Fleet. The commanders of the Third saw the potential for the Broadsword-class to be utilized as a fast, decently armed APC capable of inserting troops into strategic points within hostile territory. After taking the frame of the Broadsword and making a series of modifications, the Third eventually started to roll out the Cutlass-class.
While not as heavily armed as some main battle line tanks, the Cutlass is certainly capable of throwing a punch and is highly effective against enemy personnel.
