One Sith Imperial Navy
Organization
Introduction
The One Sith Imperial Navy is comprised of two overarching structures who regulate, command and maintain the Navy. The Imperial Navy is co-commanded by the Sith Lords and the One Sith Admiralty. The two structures reflect these two entities but, also are designed to work in a synergy.
Two Structures of Command
Fleet Commissariat
(FLEETCOMM)
The Fleet Commissariat is comprised of Sith Lords who have been assigned by the Dark Lord to supervise the Imperial Navy Command (i.e. Admiralty and their Fleet Captains) as custodians of the Naval War Machine. FLEETCOMM, as it is also known, holds the following responsibilities and powers:
- Supervise grand campaigns, which include invasions, dominions and defence of the Imperial realm.
- Enforce order and morale, and if necessary put down those who exhibit behaviours that are unbefitting of a soldier of the Empire.
- Act as custodians of the naval war machine. Manage Naval upkeep, naval warship production and funding.
Sith Lords are not necessarily attached to a fleet (except for certain cases in which a Sith Lord has built their own naval command, i.e. Darth Hauntruss' Inquisition Fleet or [member="Darth Vornskr"]'s First Fleet). Instead they enlist the services of Fleet Admirals to be involved in their campaigns. For example, a Sith Lord can summon a group of Admirals in a campaign to a certain world because these Admirals know the area far better.
FLEETCOM is headed by an Imperial Warlord who acts as governing general of the council of Sith Lords assigned to FLEETCOMM.
Naval Command
(NAVCOMM)
Naval Command is comprised of the secular military personnel who command the various fleets of the One Sith Imperial Navy. They act as the gears and parts of the naval war machine. They have direct command of the navy, except for instances when Sith Lords take command of certain operations or campaigns. (i.e. Invasions and Personal Operations.)
NAVCOMM is headed by a First High Sealord who commands the entire One Sith Admiralty, he will be assisted by a Second Sealord as Second-in-Command. Next to the Admiralty is the Naval Council, which is made up of Fleet Captains. NAVCOMM will have several major naval bases on all major fronts, with minor bases on all worlds for servicing ships, including: (some special development threads on some of these would be cool)
-Coruscant
-Metellos
-Byss
-Balmorra
-Kuat
-Iridonia
-Khomm
-Lujo
Fleet Structure
Within the One Sith Imperial Navy there are various types of fleets. The most common are Task Force Groups and War Fleets. Special exceptions exist for other branches of the One Sith Empire, such as the Imperial Inquisition and the One Sith Assassins, who have their own fleets and can summon the assistance of other ships for their operations.
War Fleets
One Sith War Fleets are the largest sized fleets in the navy. Their purpose is in the name - WAR - they carry out space warfare, planetary invasions, fleet combat. During times of peace they are on active patrol with two War Fleets assigned to every sector within the Empire. Every War Fleet is commanded by an Admiral and his Vice-Admiral/Captain cohort.
Task Force Groups
One Sith Task Force Groups, are slightly smaller than War Fleets but still hold a size that can be considered a Fleet. Task Force Groups are specialized fleets of ships designed for special tasks. These tasks can be: Long Range Reconnaissance, Raids, Seek and Destroy Missions, Assisting One Sith branches in operations (i.e. Assassins, Imperial Inquisition, etc.), Recovery Missions, Interception Missions.
They usually carry a large fighter wing count and possess faster ships with heavier ships limited to escort and support. They are the most common form of Fleet in the One Sith Navy, with numerous Task Force Groups assigned to every sector of the Empire.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN OOCLY?
This structure is designed to act as a general format to people's creative processes. There are no set in stone Fleet names and groups. You control what type of fleet you create. You make the fleets, their purpose and their missions. All that I ask is you take the War Fleet, Task Force Group format, for organizational purposes.
Missions
In an effort to have actual military RPing outside of Dominions and Invasions, I propose we add a "Missions" Board to the Navy Forum, so that FLEETCOMM and NAVCOMM can post actual Naval Missions that Navy Characters can pick up propose and in act themselves (and by in act I mean, find the RPers to join, find adversaries to join, manage the threads and report back later). Some missions will be GM'd by me and other Sith Lords, others can just be picked up by a Naval Character and done with how they please.
Examples:
-Long Recon Mission into Pirate Lanes near Nar Shadda
-Interception Mission, Rebel smuggling ring in Coruscant
- Assault Mission, RepublicvOneSith Naval Skirmish - assault on X's supply lane
ONCE WE HAVE ALL THIS AGREED UPON I WILL VENTURE TO MAKE A MASTER FLEET LIST AND NAVAL CHARACTER LIST FOR THIS SECTION OF THE FORUM
