OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a generic, lore-friendly unit for Bastion Holdings to sell and for other Imperials to easily use as needed without having to do their own writeups.
- Image Credit: Image one, Death Troopers.
- Role: Elite Imperial Stormtroopers assigned to covert operations, assassinations, sabotage, and the protection of key assets and individuals.
- Permissions: N/A
- Links: Bastion Holdings.
- Unit Name: Imperial Standard Death Troopers.
- Affiliation: Although trained and recruited by Bastion Holdings, they are loyal to whoever holds their contract, namely Imperials and Imperial-esque/flavored factions characters and npcs.
- Classification: Special Forces.
- Description: Equipped in distinctive, improved black stormtrooper armor that heralds their elite nature and often of above average size and strength, Imperial Standard Death Troopers have an intimidating appearance.
- Unit Size: Small.
- Unit Availability: Rare.
- Unit Experience: Elite.
- Equipment: Can be equipped with up to limited variants of blaster rifles, blaster pistols, repeating blasters, scatter blasters, individual and/or squad level shield generators, grenades, Portable Anti-armor/anti-air launchers, vibroblades, mortars, targeting scopes, night vision equipment, thermal scanners, riot shields, stun batons, light drone support, probe droids, and generic other necessary infantry supplies such as bacta and food. In addition they have special, distinctive stormtrooper armor that is much better than that of your standard Stormtrooper.
- Combat Function: Death Troopers are the elite apex of the Imperial Storm Trooper Corps, being selected from the best of the Storm Commandos who are in turn recruited from the best of the Stormtroopers who often come from the best of the Standard Army Troopers, and are thus the highest rank that the average galactic citizen might aspire to if they dedicate their lives to it. They work in elite small teams and are assigned to covert operations, assassinations, irregular warfare, sabotage, and the protection of critical key assets and individuals, in contrast to the Stormtroopers and Storm Commandos who are trained to operate in larger formations to attack en masse.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A.
- Special Forces: The Imperial Standard Death Troopers are the special forces of the various Imperial regimes throughout the galaxy, and as such are more flexible and trained to handle and excel at all kinds of missions that the regular Stormtrooper, Storm Commando, or Army Trooper cannot do. They are the silent, gloved fist of many Imperial rulers.
- Best of the Best: These are the best of the best of one's typical galactic citizen, large, tall, muscular, intelligent, and deadly as warriors. They are assigned in teams to handle some of the worst threats the Empire might face, including Force wielders when working together in teams. Only the most deadly and skilled of foes can hope to evade or defeat a team of Death Troopers.
- Rare: They are very rare in the overall Imperial regime due to the extensive training time and attrition it takes to find a suitable candidate and bring them up to proper standards.
- Expensive: Due to the training and equipment required, they are very expensive to acquire from Bastion Holdings and to retain, and are thus only seen deployed in small numbers even by the strongest Imperial regimes.
The Imperial Standard Death Trooper is the apex of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps by Bastion Holdings, and trained to grueling standards in a wide variety of mission types in every climate from arctic wastes to outer space. The training dropout rates are harsh, often in excess in 75%, and that is of those who are deemed worthy enough to try to join them in the first place. They work behind the scenes in close-knit teams, often leaving little evidence (or witnesses) of their missions, and their exploits are quietly whispered of in the ranks. In public, they are rarely seen, except to guard high value individuals and assets who are determined to be key to the running of an Imperial regime, and a sign of prestige for those worthy enough to be assigned a team.
