Storm Commando With a Flamethrower.
Urban Warfare Storm Commandos.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a generic, lore-friendly unit for Bastion Holdings to sell and for other Imperials to easily use as needed without having to do their own writeups.
- Image Credit: Flamethrower image, second image.
- Role: Elite Imperial Shocktroopers, the best of the regular Stormtroopers.
- Permissions: N/A
- Links: Bastion Holdings.
- Unit Name: Imperial Standard Storm Commandos.
- Affiliation: Although trained and recruited by Bastion Holdings, they are loyal to whoever holds their contract, namely Imperials and Imperial-esque/flavored factions characters and npcs.
- Classification: Elite Shock Troops
- Description: Equipped in distinctive, improved black scout trooper that is both light and very protective, it heralds their elite nature. They are often taller, stronger, and more intelligent than your average Stormtrooper.
- Unit Size: Medium.
- Unit Availability: Rare.
- Unit Experience: Elite.
- Equipment: Can be equipped with up to limited variants of blaster rifles, blaster pistols, repeating blasters, scatter blasters, individual and/or squad level shield generators, grenades, Portable Anti-armor/anti-air launchers, vibroblades, mortars, targeting scopes, night vision equipment, thermal scanners, riot shields, stun batons, light drone support, probe droids, and generic other necessary infantry supplies such as bacta and food. In addition they have special, distinctive scout trooper armor that is much better and lighter than that of your standard Stormtrooper.
- Combat Function: They are the elite shock troopers of the Imperial Forces, used to storm or defend positions even regular stormtroopers have a hard time holding, and are the last of the stormtrooper elite units capable of being formed into companies, as any more elite than them are simply forwarded into smaller Death Trooper teams who are the best of the best.
- Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A.
- Elite Storm Troopers: The Imperial Standard Storm Commandos are the elite of your average Stormtrooper, and are capable of assaulting positions en masse otherwise thought to be impossible to take. They are excellent shots, skilled in all types of warfare, and tough to kill in combat, and in large enough numbers such as a few squads are able to take on Force Wielders with a decent chance of success.
- Trained for Naval Warfare: They are especially good at naval boarding actions, and a ship which has been breached by a significant number of Storm Commandos will soon be under Imperial control.
- Comparatively Rare: Though not as rare as the Imperial Standard Death Trooper, only veteran Stormtroopers are considered skilled enough to advance to this role, and thus their numbers are comparatively small throughout Imperial forces.
- Expensive: Due to the training and equipment required, they are fairly expensive to acquire from Bastion Holdings and to retain, and are thus only usually recruited and deployed in a careful manner.
OOC: Yes, yes, I know in Legends Storm Commandos were special forces and not just elite shock troops, but canon changed that role to Death Troopers, hence how this writeup is done.
The Imperial Storm Commandos are the elite of the Stormtroopers still capable of large scale offensive maneuvers as shock troops, and are effectively the best of the bunch at doing so. Organized into companies, they are often sent into hot zones and on borderline suicidal missions that are considered critical to the success of a battle to reinforce the line or create a breakthrough that Stormtroopers can follow up on. A wise Imperial commander will reserve them for the critical offensives in the battle, or hold them in reserve to seal off any breaches of his or her line that absolutely need to be dealt with. Although comparatively few in number relative to the overall Stormtrooper Corps and often at a 10:1 if not 15:1 ratio with Army Troopers, they have a disproportionate impact for their size, and any enemy should be quite wary of them.
