Important News

It's been quite a while since I've done the news, as it's usually Z Hutt who handles that area of the faction.

However, I'd like to keep everyone updated on a few things. First and foremost, if you're not aware, I'm on a leave of absence until the 19th of November. As you can see, I have a presence right now but it's very limited, and that will likely be limited further in the coming days. So I'd like to take this time I have to remind you all that we have an ongoing opinion poll in the discussion forum.

I'd also like to state quite plainly that we intend to take this information and make the necessary changes so that the faction heads in a direction we're all happy with.

I am glad to see that the majority of you have zero issues with our staff. That means a lot to me, because I know we haven't been as active as those in other factions. There are still a few important facts that we can take away from the poll, so I'll go through each of them and discuss the plan of action.

Q.) What would you like to see us do next?

So a lot of you have agreed that threads like the Ziost Affair are a high interest among Primeval members. And that PvP is actually not a high interest among Primeval members.

I won't lie, it's always been the assumption of the faction staff that the Primeval is one with a heavy interest in PvP due to the turnout and successes of our invasions. So we'll definitely discuss this, and we'll be sure to include all of you, so that we can better understand what types of threads all of you want to do and would participate in.

Otherwise the biggest interest was in PvE threads with other factions, and spending time roleplaying with ourselves. If possible I would like to combine--in balance--those two opinions and focus on threads that are both faction-centric roleplay, but also give opportunities for outsiders to participate. This doesn't mean all of our threads will be open to the public, but that we'll be sure to include non-faction members in our storylines from time-to-time.

Q.) Do you like the current course we're heading in?

The majority of you have stated that you're content with our current direction, but a larger number of that majority have stated there are still some changes that need to be made. I am also not going to be relying entirely on 'majority rules' so I am aware that there are at least a small few of you who believe that we need to make quite a few changes, rather than just some.

Honestly, this is going to warrant a discussion of its own. So sometime in the coming days I'll make a discussion regarding what changes you'd all like to see made.

Q.) Would you say the Primeval is your main faction?

This was an interestingly mixed response, which I kind of expected. It seems most of you consider the Primeval to be a minimal interest, or claim that you spend as much time with us as any other faction. Whilst a handful have said that the Primeval is their primary faction. This will also be something that warrants its own discussion so we can see why that is.

It's probably nothing serious, but if there's anything we can do to increase interest and commitment levels from our members I will definitely see how we can make the faction more interesting. This will likely be within the same discussion as the second question.

Q.) Do you have a good idea what the Primeval is all about?

This one was surprising for me. Many times we've discussed, and we all agreed that the Primeval is complicated and difficult to understand and get into. Most of you state you understand the faction quite well, just that for a lot of those people it takes some time getting into. So we'll definitely discuss this and see how we can make it easier to be part of the Primeval.

My conclusion to the opinion poll is that the Primeval is a faction that requires pull. That it's an idea which, although very cool and interesting, needs some changes to make it easier to participate. If you feel my conclusions are misinformed, please do let me know in a comment below.
