Perhaps it was saying alot, or nothing at all, but this idea of 'freedom' was not something Gaius was used to. He had free reign, he could do whatever it was he wished, and when he walked through the streets or halls, Sith soldiers would give him a sign of respect. It was so strange, something he just couldn't comprehend. He had this potential within him all along from his understanding, so why now after everything he had tolled through was he given these privileges? It didn't make sense. The side of him that demanded he be reserved and obedient clashed with another persona burning deep within him, the one that desired to push back against those who pressured him. At times he felt like he was battling with himself, struggling to grasp at what was occurring. How do you come to grasp with the fact you wasted the first twenty years of your life in slavery? Well, perhaps you didn't. Perhaps that mark would always stay with him, and it was up to him to decide what to do with it.

He stood now within a designated training facility, enjoying the fact that no one was around to see him. From what he was told, he was above the status as a slave, he was something better now; a Sith, and a powerful one at that. Did he believe it? Not entirely, but he felt as if he was on the right track for the first time in his life. When he took like, when he displayed his power over another, it felt as if he was being completed on some level. He tensed, his hand going to his saber as he tried to prepare for the training module he had been struggling against. "Computer, activate simulation." He muttered, his legs tense and ready to take off once the holograms had finished loading. He would get it right this time, he had to. As the course began to develop before him, Gaius took off; he wasn't going to fail again.

He was off. Several guard towers came into existence thirty feet ahead, along with a half dozen tower guards and two dozen soldiers on the ground. Gaius flipped his sabers on, moving as quick as he could, trying to push past his physical limitations. He put energy into his legs, his speed increasing, his sights set on the closest tower as the simulated guards began to open fire on him. He leapt towards the tower, his coordination faltering as he attempted to deflect and knock back the bolts that sailed towards him.

He landed near one hologram, and jabbed his blade right through it's chest, as it melted away; though the towers now opened fire upon his position now, prompting Gaius to seek cover as several parts of the current tower began to be blown away. Initially he hoped that the firing would stop once they lost sight of him, but he was very much wrong. He felt the tower begin to shake, it's structure starting to become compromised due to the damage it was withstanding. Gaius moved to leap off, aiming towards the other tower, only for his foot to slip as he was about to take a leap; sending him plummeting thirty feet down. He began to plummet towards a squad, all of whom began to train their blasters on him. Thinking quickly, he threw his hands forward, pouring everything he could into the effort, and was rewarded with the sight of his opponents being blown apart; as well as slowing his descent.

Once he touched down, he was under fire again, narrowly dodging several shots that sailed towards him from the second squad, but finding that he was running out of options in how to engage the targets. The tower he had just escaped from began to fall apart, it's top section tumbling down. Gaius thought that perhaps it would provide him cover, maybe be enough to buy him time to act. He took several steps back, trying to dodge between shots, desperately using both sides of his blades to stop the onslaught. Then to his displeasure, the top half of the tower landed upon him; smashing him into the floor and terminating he simulation in the process. A loud 'bwomp' siren echoed through the room, before the system declared:''Simulation failed.' The projected images began to fade away, leaving a bruised Gaius on the floor of the room, his eyes shut in frustration at having failed yet again.

'Damn it.'
