Veino Garn
Saaraai-Kaar
Veino checked the information and ship manifest again. The passenger vessel he had his instructed the others from the Order of the Grey to take should be landing very soon, unless something had delayed the vessel, which was not implausible. The Suarbi system could be a little touchy when it came to space travel at times, with so many different gravity fields at play. The planet's massive gravity well for one, and then the thirteen moons, not to mention ones from some of the largest asteroids. He'd heard it described as being in a very complicated harbor with a conflicting rip rides, and he no reason to disbelieve it, even though he only had the basics of piloting training down. He went through the plan once more.
He would deliver them to the meeting place where the representatives waited, council members Jace Tillian and Navo Takkoo. Two well respected members of the council, and from what he'd heard, fairly reasonable individuals. Not like, as he had heard rumor of from the Ring Defenders he'd had some contact with recently, many of the council members who were staunchly isolationist. They would need to present a tough case to convince the council of any possibility of an agreement. Once the meeting was underway, he would depart for the conclave to recount the events on Cloud City and argue their case on the home front, as well as resolve some loose ends of his own that needed tied up. Hopefully, if all went well, he would be able to return to the meeting with other council members and the Saarai-Kar to finalize the terms of the agreement. He had tried to have the meeting at the conclave, but that was one rule they would not break. No unmet outsiders were to set foot in the conclave, unless they had no objection to having their memory blocked against their will.
He could see the ship now and its landing, cushioned by repulsorlifts and hydraulic supports. He hurried towards its docking station to greet them on their arrival.
