In The Care of Another

Sochi had just returned from her pilgrimage to Kel Dor; she was studying with the Baran Do. Ever since achieving Knight she had chosen to learn from other force adepts. Knowledge she probably wouldn't be able to learn within the confines of the temple. This also broadened her education, and with her being an Instructor this was perfect for the younglings, and wondering padawans. When she made it back to the temple she had been summoned by the council. She was chosen to take on a Padawan; one who needed to complete her training under the care of another Master it would seem. Not wanting to turn down this great experience she jumped at the chance, and proceeded to contact her new Padawan.

They both agreed to meet in the meditation gardens; a coinceidence that she too met her master in one of these very gardens. Her and her best friend Rasu, took coincidences as signs - signs that meant something good was in store - approaching the area she passed multiple colleagues of hers, that she had gotten to know over the years, some of them training her even. Time really does fly by. She came to the door, it sliding open at the sign of her presence.

She took a step forward, and immediately was greeted by multiple colors, and flowers. (A place where she truly felt at home). She slowly walked, and looked for the familiar face that was Ella.

Ella was knelt next to an Jedi Initiate, whom from closer observation by the Jedi Knight near her would know to be part of the Jedi Agricultural Corps, an sect of the Jedi Order that was ran by the reassignment council, for Jedi Initiates who had passed their Initiate Trials, but were yet to be selected for apprenticeship under another Jedi. Smiling, the Jedi Padawan was helping the Initiate plant a new kind of herb, which was used for medicinal purposes. "So first, you plant the seed. Make sure it's covered in the compost and add the water, like so." Ella poured a sprinkled of water over the seed before continuing. "You don't want to add too much water or the seed will die. If the seed dies, then the herb can't grow. Now why don't you try?"

Rising up, she dusted her hands on her leggings. She was wearing traditional Jedi robes and her bead of hair that symbolized that she was a Jedi Padawan hung over her left shoulder. As Ella rose, she saw a familiar face and approached. "Hi Sochi. Long time no see."

Her eyes widened when she saw whom she sought. Walking towards the girl she greeted her with a slight bow of her head. A subtle smile cut across her face. "Greetings Padawan Nova. I'm sure you know why I'm here?" She said softly, as usual. It seemed almost unrealistic to think they both started off as Padawan together. It seemed only the other day they'd ere both accompanying Knight Aika to go help conscript the native Ysanna during he liberation of Ossus. Much time has passed since then, and Sochi was a Knight now, an instructor as well. She had grown into her skills, and acquired even more. She was here to take over the training of the girl for her master hadn't enough time to do so. Such was okay, she understood Master Carn's reasons, she was happy to help. It seemed better that they already knew one another. They had a base to go off of. Sochi looked upon the familiar face. She only hoped Ella was aware of the changes.

Ella looked confused and replied, "Just visiting an old friend?" She gave a nervous laugh before scratching the back of her head. "Why, is something wrong?"

Sochi widened her eyes, she remained professional. It was rather weird that the council had not informed Ella of her new situation. In this time it was up to Sochi to provide her with the right information. "Well, Padawan Niva I happen to be your new Master." She said softly, interlocking her hands, and placing them waspish level. "I know this is sudden, but you master has become quite too busy on Korriban, and with council business that he feels he no longer fit to give you the proper training you require. I've been asked to step in and continue your training." She said with a calm expression on her face. She would only hope that Ella would take it well.

Ella lowered her gaze momentarily, confused. Carn had left her behind for Coruscant, yes, but he hadn't said where he was going. Now it all made sense. Korriban was, indeed, dangerous. She looked back up to Sochi with a worried expression. "Master... Is he okay? I mean... is Master Dista okay?"

"He's fine, he just has to be stationed there, and the council feels that Korriban isn't a place to train an apprentice, and he feels like he wouldn't have the time to properly train you with all that's going on there." She said in response to the girls question. It seemed as though she took it well; hopefully. It was within Ru's greatest interest that they get started with her training as soon a possible. Ru was never one to waste precious time that one could be spending to better oneself. Awaiting for the girls approval of her statement, and for the response that would clarify if she understood or not, Sochi allowed her time to answer. Then she posed another question, "So, tell me, what has Master Dista already trained you in? I want to know the areas we can brush over or skip since your already experienced." She said professionally,

"Well... The honest truth is he never really trained me in anything." She scratched the back of her head before continuing. "He gave me a mission to get to Coruscant from the Jedi Temple on Tython, where he took me out of the Agricultural corps. That wasn't pleasant, let me tell you. An droid malfunctioned and murdered three of the crew and injured several passengers in an explosion. After that, there was the entire Hion incident and then I was shipped out with you and Master Kawikama to Ossus. After that, I haven't really seen him."

Sochi figured as much, that was fine, she preferred it this way anyway, "Ahh I see, well this is no setback, I assume you have already taken a liking to a specific lightsaber form, most students have at this point. Since I know your already familiar with Form Zero I will skip over that lesson. Let us go to the Combat Center. We mustn't waste anymore time." She said softly, yet sternly. After so much time being wasted, Sochi assumed that Ella was itching to actually learn something, and Sochi being an instructor, knew she could help this girl. This wasn't going to be like an instructor instructing a student for just days at a time, no this was going to be more than that since they were now partners.

"Yes master." She gave Sochi a soft smile before joining her at her side, as they began to move out of the meditation gardens towards the combat area for training. As they walked, she looked up to Sochi and said, "I'm thankful that the council assigned us together. Master Dista has seemed troubled ever since I became a Padawan. I'm glad he found me on Tython, because I thought I'd never get the opportunity to become a Jedi Knight." She grinned before looking ahead. "I'm okay at Shii-Cho but I wanted to begin training in Makashi. What form did you learn, master?"

She placed her hand over her shoulder and guided her along. She turned her head in the direction of Ella's voice. Her wkrds brought a content expression to Sochi's face. It was nice to see her in good spirit with a change going on. Thus was the right way to approach the situation. Then Ella presented a question. Sochi turned her head forwards back to the current path. "Well, ive been trained in all the forms. But if your question was of which did I choose as my first, well it was Makashi, though by the time I was a padawan I was trained in the basics of Shii-Cho, Makashi, and Soresu." She said answering her question. "I know that seems like alot, but all my time was used studying abd learning. A favored past time of mine." She said following up her previous question.

Ella grinned again before opening the door for both of them to enter the room. When they were inside, she neatly undressed her Jedi robe and folded it neatly on a nearby bench, before letting her hands fall to the side as she turned back to Sochi. "What now master?"

Sochi stood in the center of the training room. "Now, I want to see what you already know, if you can show me a firm and consistent grasp of Shii-Cho then I will help further your training in Makashi. Now, lets begin." She said revealing her lightsaber hilt from within her sleeve. As an instructor it was Sochi's job to be able to find the weaknesses and strengths of a students and help them overcome and hone them. She always does this naturally now.
