In the Library

Training a padawan was something she looked at as a rather interesting prospect. a chance to get them when they were young so that they would be able to learn the jedi code and the rules and regulations properly. The young zeltron looked at herself as she was walking around with her bodysuit on and the outfit was very simple. Solid dreamsilk with the synth mesh so that it was highly protective and a cloak that went around her neck covering her and ending under her chin. Then going down to her ankles with pockets and areas on the interior so that she would be abel to keep her equipment there.

"Now where is this new padawan?" The zeltron was curious as she made sure her hair was in a tight ponytail and bun so it looked shorter then it actually was leaving her ears exposed, allowing no loose strands to go with her proper look. Just because she was a zeltron and knew a number of zeltrons liked to go around in less modest and highly revealing clothing didn't mean she had to. Her pheromones she generally controlled heavily as well before she moved around to show her golden saber hilt on her belt with her boots there as they were shined and polished.

I'd made a point to begin looking for a Master on Voss and I'd made contact with a Zeltron woman recently who I hoped would train me. I'd pulled on a set of cream colored robes along with my caramel colored boots. Pulling on a mocha outer robe I walked into the hangar and grabbed a helmet before slinging my leg over the custom bike Celiana had left me. Kicking it into gear I drove over to the lift and activated it bringing me up to ground level. As I reached the surface I gunned the throttle and began rocketing towards the Voss temple. All I knew about this woman was she was Zeltron and aside from that not much. I figured we'd probably be meeting in the archives and I was trying my best to make it to the temple quickly...

Hopefully if she was there already she ad at least found a book to keep her busy as I made my way in. I could see the temple so it'd be a fairly short process to park and get to the archives. Tops it'd be five minutes before I was there...

She was moving when she went into the archives with purpose and intent. Finding an area she could meet her padawan that gave her a nice full view of the entire area around herself before the jedi knight breathed in deeply the scents and feelings around her. Voss had been a very very nice place to be but there was somewhere else that the jedi would be able to go. She knew the jedi were testing the Library monolith, or at least that is what it was being called as the massive thing was high above Ossus and moving around silver space always on some form of random course. To prevent its archives and acquisitions division to get raided. "Is that her." She said curious but no it was a long hair boy that hadn't become an initiate yet to get the braid. "Hmm now where is she."

Screeching into the hangar bay of the temple I pulled my helmet off and clipped it to my bike. My Echani blades were in sheathed along my back and I quickly made my way to the lift. Stepping inside I hit the button for the Archives. The lift began moving down into the depths of the temple and I closed my eyes as I went down in the lift. Hopefully my new Master wouldn't hate me for being late...Clearing my mind I felt the lift stop and the doors open. Walking briskly down the hall I made my way into the archives and after stepping inside I saw her. Zeltron, dreamy blue hair, and light pink skin....This was my Master to be it seemed. By The Force.... disciplining my mind I walked over to the table where she sat and pulled the sheathed blades from over my shoulder and set them against the wall by the table.

Nervously looking at her I said, "My apologies for my lateness Master...I live a bit away from the temple so it took me a bit to get here. I suppose I'm to be your new apprentice...my name is Selena Drayven." I felt very self-conscious around this beautiful woman. My ears were sticking out of my messy hair and I suddenly felt as though I wasn't anywhere near good enough...

She looked up at her and blinked for a moment, restraining all parts of herself within the temple though the jedi knight raised an eyebrow. She was unaware the girl was late. This was a large temple, you couldn't always find things easily she knew. "It is quite alright padawan Drayven." She said it while rising up and offering a hand to her staying at her full height when she adjusted her cloak so the clasp was at her throat for the moment. She pulled out her datapad for the padawan to have as she looked at the blades she had. They wouldn't be needed but she held it out for here. "This is for you, it is all of the standard rules and regulations of the jedi order, including the dress code that we generally try to adhere to. Hygiene is there, use of weapons and possessions or what you are supposed to do with them. There is also a map of the temple indicating where the padawan barracks are located and the quartermaster should you need anything."

I blinked a few times as she handed me the datapad and explained things to me. "Selena if you don't mind Master... As to padawan barracks, and seeing the quatemaster....well I'm guessing they don't have some of the things I've got back home. With respect Master, as to Padawan barracks my sister's...my home is just a short speeder-bike ride from here Master and it was...a parting gift from my sister."
Taking a breath I paused. I had a tendency to talk far too much when I was nervous, as it was my Master was incredibly beautiful and I was wondering if she would pick up on the fact that I'd noticed that...

Making the decision to look in her eyes I said, "Other than the basic introduction Master what can we learn today? I'm eager to learn and if I'm being honest I'm also eager to impress you Master. I feel...inadequate already and I can't help but think there were quite a few other padawans more prepared or skilled than myself..... Also I'm curious if there's a name you would prefer me to call you rather than just Master all the time..."

She looked at the girl but kept her face neutral at the feelings she was getting, her empathy was there before she was moving with some attention to the finer details for it. "That is acceptable, residences on Voss are not uncommon just ensure you are able to get tot he temple each morning." She motioned for her to come while walking and put her hands behind her back clasping them at the small of her back before she was walking. "Proper etiquette as a jedi says that you should address me as master. I am one of the few jedi that is very strict to the rules. We have them for a reason to prevent falling to the darkside and giving into that trapping that make the sith so strong. As such my name was one such thing I gave up and I focus on my studies of the jedi orders histories and research."

Grabbing my blades I slipped them over my shoulder and began following her. As I listened to her speak I felt more and more like I wouldn't measure up to her standards... As she mentioned that proper etiquette dictated that I address her as Master I felt even more like I wasn't good enough...When I heard her speak of things like giving things up and one of them being her name. I had a single moment where my feeling of The Force showed me something, loneliness. Letting that feeling sink in as I walked behind her I waited several moments before speaking again.

"Sounds vastly difficult...and incredibly lonely Master. I feel as though the removal of one's name is something done either out of shame, or to remove a part of their humanity and what makes them unique. Excuse my opinons Master I mean no disrespect..."

She heard the words and was thankful the cloak covered her neck as she could feel the small hairs bristle at that. Shame might be too strong a word but her sister was a dark lord of the sith. She may have done it for reasons but if no one knew your name you could protect yourself and she had seen the different circles of jedi who turned on each other. "You can be perspective and maybe one say I shall tell you but for nowit would be good to not press." She said it while walking and prepared herself for some of the things. She was going outside, the area of the temple in the gardens that went into the sections of the temple being worked on and restored by the different teams of corp members. The main area where she went for training was near the grand llibrary they had construted in the temple off from the archives and near the vaults so you coudl practice a lot more of the skills you researched. With a small look. "As to the difficulty of it, there is no real reason to worry, few measure up to standards in truth and that is why most adapt. I would rather have you at least willing to try as opposed just brush it off."

Reading between the lines of what was said I let my eyes drift down. Having been suitably chastised I simply said, "I'm sorry Master. I have a tendency to overstep my bounds at times..." As we entered a small outer courtyard for practice my Master said that the difficulty of it wasn't really the point. That few measured up to the standards and most adapted. That she'd rather me try than to simply brush it off. My response was simply to say, "Yes ma'am." I was here to learn after all....

Good then, on both accounts as she was standing in the one training room and removing the cloak so she was standing in the dark grey bodysuit with her lightsaber. Tightly fitted belt and thigh straps for equipment pouches with both of the tomes and indexes for general exploration. Sleek boots that were almost perfectly fitted so it looked like a solid outfit going to her gloves and wrapping around her throat under her chin. The zeltron was somehow wearing more clothing but it was almost like a vacuum sealed suit that hugged each curve of her form. Can't always take a species mentality to wear something considered by others attractive even with a more conservative and less overtly meant outfit. Her eyes flicking back towards her padawan when she spoke. "Now we shall begin, your initial training or instruction is to find a comfortable stance you can hold preferably for hours of deep contemplation and meditation."

I figured Meditation would be on the list of first things learned...So when she asked me to find a stance I could hold for long periods of time I simply sank to a seated Lotus position. Even with her having taken off only her outer cloak she had curves that I could spend all day meditating on. Jerking my eyes away from her I returned to face forward and asked, "What next Master?"

Good so she was comfortable as her body moved. To mirror the position and stay there. "Now once you are comfortable, tell me about yourself. You are older then most padawans who have been trained since childhood like myself. So someone brought you to the order as opposed to being raised within it and the sister you spoke about means famiy. There is not a great deal of families within the order but the ones who are there provide a number of interesting stories. From the e'rons to the heavenshields and the ike. There are a number of them roaming around to show that force families can be very beneficial to th jedi."

After my Master asked about my family I began speaking. "My family is actually what made both my sister and I leave Eshan Master. She left after completing the Echani Battle-school she went to Coruscant to live with our Father. It didn't go over well and she found out insitinctively she could use the force. As for me I stayed behind after finishing battle-school and learned didfferent crafting and mechanical skills. I only came here at the invitation of my sister but I knew I could use The Force and I knew I needed training that wasn't available on Eshan. As for families within the order well our Mother can use The Force but wanted us to learn how to be able to function without it's use. But ours isn't a Jedi family Master... The women in the family have use of The Force but most don't have any formal training..."

Hmm as she was listening intently there was a few things she wanted to question and wondered about but let the girl finish before she waited a moment. Ready to do anything before she heard her finish. "Thank you for that and I will give some. "I was raised within the order, after our parents died my sisters and I were taken in. The eldest staying with the mandalroians for a time before she was betrayed and vanished being taken in by the Sith Empire. Meanwhile me and my other sister stayed with the jedi and we are here at the temple." For a history lesson there wasn't much and she never said her sisters name as a point of reference, she had the uncanny ability to show up when her name was mentioned as wondering if there were any questions. "Do you have any questions padawan?"

Listening to my Master I tuned into the short bit about her older sister and the Mandalorians. From my own experiences with them the Mando'ade they were warriors to rival even the Jedi... When my Master finished she asked if I had any questions. Looking into her eyes I said, "Master of course I do...but most of them are about you and your past...Plus I feel like you wouldn't tell me anyways until you were ready." I let out the words fierfeck'la Osik... then said, "I apologize Master for my curiosity about you and your past...I've always been far too inquisitive for my own good..."

Looking into her eyes I asked, "Master when will I begin to be taught about The Force, or begin saber training? I know it's not the most important thing about being Jedi but combat, emotions, they're very vital to Echani culture. We....certain Echani, my sister and mother being included along with me. We see emotions in color through The Force...it's a passive trait but the beauty of combat, of seeing others emotions and being able to teach that skill to others is incredibly important to us... I'm able to use this as a way to learn about a person and it's something very important to me. But I wanted to mention it because while I already see this way I wanted to be able to share it with you and let you see as I do. It's a gift that the Echani who have this ability only share with certain people. Masters and people they are incredibly close with mostly..."

Her eyesbrow raised up at what the girl was talking about while she thought about it and she understood a number of things about the different cultures. Combat within the echani was something respect, especially the martial arts that they used and dancing with little to no armor for themselves. She was uncertain about it mostly because sharing something like that was not appropriate at this time. "At this time sharing something so personal padawan is not needed. In time we will develop a proper bond as it is supposed to be but something such as sharing on that level is unneeded. On the subject of you learning however we can begin that right now. The datapad I presented you with has information and all of the initial information you will need. including the jedi code and its tenets."

Meeting her eyes I said very seriously, "I wasn't planning on sharing it with you just yet Master. But more of a statement as to the fact that I would in time do so... As to the code..there are two versions Master it was required on Eshan for my sister and I to think on them before blade practices. I personally prefer the second though..." I began to recite from memory, "Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet The Force."

I worried that recitation of The Code would come across as snotty or that I already knew this, but honestly I knew there were things that I struggled with in both versions of The Code. I felt as though the mention of sharing the way the women in my family saw during battle with as well as in general may have put her off a bit.... I knew we'd need to work together a good while before we started forming a proper Master and Padawan bond but I could tell that as businesslike as she came across as that she cared. Plus it was my gift to share when I was ready. I was very grateful just to have a Master to teach me and I hoped I hadn't put her off too much before much training had taken place...

Looking at her and hearing the code she followed and preferred there was a small look on her face. Sticking around though she said it while sticking around. "I have found most of the younger ones prefer that version of the code it allows them to have emotion and show it instead of practicing control. No matter though I can adapt." She moved getting up and prepared for anything that could come when she rose up reaching out with the force towards the door and closing it along with the systems for the room. To get the control lights on and ready. "We have these main training rooms for different purposes but the hardlight techniques are designed to test your skills with the force and martial combat." She motioned with a hand as small discs were appearing around the room floating.

Looking at her as she rose and said her piece I for once remained blessedly quiet. I liked her but I didn't want to irritate her either... Rising from my seated position I followed her and when she mentioned the hardlight training I sighed. I'd dealt with hardlight training on Eshan before and it was something I knew could be adapted against you while you were in the middle of training. Though at the mention of combat and martial techniques my eyes lit up and I hoped that she'd run me through at least a few training drills...I kept my eyes on the floating discs in preparation for any of them being activated...

Maybe then we'd both learn something of the other. Even if she were to tweak the programming to adapt it'd show me something about my Master. She'd get to see how I responded too...Smiling widely I waited to see if she'd trigger a combat drill...
