Faction In The Safety of The Unknown [Eclipse Rebellion]

Unknown Regions
The Lost Station

It had only been a month since the Eclipse Rebellion found this decrepit military space station, far away from the reach of the Eternal Empire. No one knew who built it or why, but it was old. So, very, very, old. There were only a few places that they were able to get operational, and even fewer that had steady life support. Lights flickered constantly, the artificial gravity was spotty, but it was safe.

And that was why rebel cells from all over had been called for a meeting.

It had taken a few days for all those called to arrive, but once they did, everyone was herded into the largest room that could be maintained safely. It was cramped, and the air was stale, but at least they were safe. Once everyone was inside and settled, the meeting would be called to order, and Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun would step forward to speak.

Taozi hadn't put much effort into disguising herself for this meeting, which could come and bite her in the future, but she knew her cover would eventually get blown no matter how hard she tried. Hair braided back into a ponytail, lightly armored black bodysuit, and a pale pink rabbit mask to hide her face were all Taozi used to hide her identity. She had brought four of her vode, who were dressed similarly in armored bodysuits, but wore plain black masks.

They stood close together near one of corners, two members on each side of Taozi, and watched as rebels filed in. Taozi took careful notice of who was arriving, and knew her vode were as well. Memorizing faces could prove fatal in the long run, but if any of the other rebels needed rescuing... Well. Knowing their face was better than not.

Even as the other rebel cells came in and began to talk amongst themselves, Taozi and her vode kept quiet, waiting patiently for the meeting to get started. From what Taozi gathered, the meeting would probably be started by Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun as the public face of the rebellion. All that could be done until she called the meeting was wait.

The Sabre-1 had docked in a private hanger, Unloading a number of mandalorians aboard the decrepit space station.
One remained in the cockpit to man the gunner's controls in case of security breach or the need for a getaway driver if worst came to worst. Another two remained at the bottom of the boarding ramp even after it had closed behind them, Waving off the remaining 3 that marched out and into the station beyond.

One of those three mandalorians, Was Aloy Vizsla, Dressed in her dark blue beskar armor and signature red scarf. Like her compatriots, She wore the classical T-visored helm that denoted her parent culture and profession from a mile away.

The teeth painted on her cheek-plates like the republic starfighters of old, The pistols strapped down tight to her hips and the armor which in of itself was an array of weapons, All denoted a life lived by taking others.

And yet that wasn't why she was here. Not exactly. Many would assume she was here to forge an alliance, Though she had already pledged her support to Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun on
Shundene weeks before this.

No, Her business her was neither political nor violent. She had managed to escape the monotony of both for the time being, And come only to meet her newest comrades. Not to judge them per se, Though this meeting may affect what role she played in this rebellion, But get to know them.

tQcpQG0.png
The lights flickered in and out as Aloy entered the hall, Her cybernetic leg clicking and clacking against the durasteel deck with each attempt to magnetize her avian-like talons, To compensate for the failing gravity control in this sector.

<"Remind me again why we're even bothering with the rebels? We don't need them to pirate imperial goods and they clearly couldn't provide the help if we wanted it..."> One of her bodyguards chimes in, Ducking under a sparking wire that lit up his visor like a thunder storm

Aloy merely sighs
<"You don't give them enough credit, New blood">

<"That blaster you're carrying? Is Mandal Arms brand. The rebel leader owns the company, And provides you with guns. And in return, We use them to kark up imps. But I want to do more than just wreck imperial shipments... I want to know if we have more than a common enemy. Maybe we might be kindred spirits. An' if we are? Our campaign here will be much, Much longer.">

The bodyguard stopped for a moment, Eyeing his Alor curiously.
<"Never thought about that. Befriending the outsiders, I mean">

<"They ain't all bad, Vod. But we should both save our judgement till we've met 'em">

Eventually the dimly lit hall led them to the meeting room, The slow hiss of the blast doors heralding their arrival as Aloy stepped in, Using her scan-pulse and a variety of optics to quickly scan the room before proceeding inward.
Whether she had seen A ARS VAMI or not was not yet obvious, But her thumb remained tucked into her belt right above her quick draw holster all the same, A sight that her bodyguard was used to by now. 'Old gunslinger's habits and all'

<"Evenin' folks. Pardon if I'm late, Place was a sith spittle to find"> She laughs nervously for comedic effect before posting up in a corner with her 2 bodyguards and any Vizslas or Black Hands that might have tagged along with her.

She'd wave her guards off once settled, Making herself more approachable to conversation without the two walking armories standing around and looking tough.
Either guard was sat on a crate or leaned up against the their arms crossed and hands off their weapons, Presenting themselves as more relaxed than threatening. Although, Each one was ready to roll provided they had a moment to set up.

Caedyn Arenais stood among the members of the Eclipse Rebellion for the first time, having arrived there alongside his sister Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun in order to further support their defiance against the oppressive government known as the Eternal Empire.

Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim was to thank for the Jedi Knight's involvement, targeting him on Commenor and forcing his involvement with the attempted capture and imprisonment of Lori. It was only natural that he, one who had dedicated his life to service not only to general galactic society but the Force itself, it was his obligation and responsibility to see the acts of tyrannical leadership thwarted and civil rights returned to the people.

This meeting however was not about the fight for him, so much as it was about establishing his own presence among the rebellion. Loreena Arenais was the public face of the group, she was a familiar presence to all here and known far and wide across Eternal Empire space whereas Caedyn's presence would be mostly estranged to the others. Something he was gladdened to have the opportunity to remedy.

The Lost Station

It was a typical day for Song as he rode with a cell of rebels, albeit he didn’t have any skills technically when it came to ships. However it was truthfully his ability to sense danger through the Force that allowed the cell to safely navigate to their destinations. Problem was before they arrived, Song acquired a vision of a large room as blaster fire and as a crowd of various people were either in pain and/or struggling for their life. A vision that might as well have been a nightmare as Song woke with a stir. Only to be informed by the cell leader, a man by the name of Char, that they were nearing the Lost Station.

After taking some time to collect himself, while Song was not technically part of the Rebels as he was essentially aiding them bits and pieces. Today however would mark his official enlistment with the rebellion. Frankly he had also hoped that he would find someone to teach him further into the Force, or at least teach him how to navigate through these visions better. Garbed in a long sleeved, dark green shirt with grey slacks and decent footwear. But he doesn’t appear to hold a single piece of armor. On one hand was his staff to which he respectfully uses it like a walking stick so that it wouldn’t carelessly smack anyone around him. This proved to be difficult however as they entered a large room that was cramped by various types of people, but Song stayed close to his group.

As the murmurs filled the room, Song reached out through the force as he sensed the tensions and emotions. Perks of being a seer as it were, but there was an abundance of emotions collected in a single gathering. Mostly pain, sorrow, and anger. However in the midst of all of this, there was still hope burning within these people. Whether it was for their own freedom, or a noble cause. Each one gathered with a goal that inspired hope within waves, and in the midst of these emotions Song chose to cling onto this sense of hope as it brought a soft smile onto his lips. At the same time, he cannot shrug off the feeling of how eerily similar this room was according to his vision. Song silently prayed that his vision was fruitless and simply a future that can be avoided.

Lirri contacted Eclipse Rebellion a few weeks or months earlier. She still can't find herself a master, still no one has dealt with her. And the little girl followed the Force's call here to the Unknown Region. She didn't know much about what the Eternal Empire was. She had fought the Sith all her life, not with such an adversary. In any case, the Force wanted her to be here, so she was here.

Even now, here on this space station. The mirialan arrived a few days ago, and since then she has typically read one of the books she still borrowed at home; or meditated. She’s trying to talk to the space station’s systems with her capabilities, and of course she also had the BB-C4T unit she bought not so long ago. But now the word had finally arrived that they would start the meeting, so the little girl went there too.

The place was very ruined, but it still worked; maybe she should make a suggestion or two on how to fix this. Although she was still new here, she will not do so yet. Mandalorians… again. Lirri recognized only the two Arenais, the others unfamiliar to her. When she arrived in the room, she leaned against the wall in her armour and then waved to those present.

"Hello! I am Lirri Vendar, Jedi Padawan from the Silver Jedi Concord!" introduced herself in a girlish voice.

"I still don't know if I like this," Na'an grumbled under her breath, watching it fog against Leigh's dome. The droid had chosen to sit up near the top of the ancient set of bleachers on the south end of the room, after determining they could hold her weight, and Na'an had perched herself even higher--on top of her partner's oversized mechanical shoulders. To the other rebels, filtering in in twos and threes, they must have made an odd sight--the small human in half-scrapped leathers and the massive droid, looming over the room like a pair of mismatched circus performers. If so, none had commented on it just yet.

"I know I said it was a good idea, but so many cells together like this...it's strange, isn't it?" Na'an shivered, even as she rested her head on her arms, on the warmth of the dome. "I wish you could feel them like I do, Leigh. So much life in one place. Desperation, curiosity, fear...hope."

Her good eye flitted over Leigh's dome, fixing on each new face in turn. Her gaze sharpened, almost hawklike, in response to the growing green taste in her mouth. Na'an wasn't the only one in this room who knew that taste, she was fairly sure. She'd woken up this morning, fresh from one of the sharpest dreams of the Enclave world she'd had in months, certain of it. It was just a matter of who. The Rabbit, fully masked and tightly reined-in? The boy with the blue hair, lost in uncertainty? The blind miralukan from Batuu, just outside? The mirialan child, flush with excitement?

More than one of them? All?

Would they feel her in them, like she felt them in her?

She'd find out once she brought up the Cereans, she thought that much. Them...and the old stones.

For once, Leigh thought she could understand the sentiment. While her human was much more overt with her fascination, watching every being that filtered into this meeting with a giant-eyed intensity, the droid could not help but appreciate the sheer variety of people this meeting was including. She knew that the call that had made her the Voice of Abbaji--and the Network she had created--had reached far beyond the initial few cells she and Miss Arenais had set up. She knew it on an intellectual level, as she knew most things. But to see it realized, in real space, was...compelling.

"I promise you,"
she said evenly, "These people are safe. Cell hubs are robust in their security measures--I do not accept any into the network who are not. And for non-network compromises..."

She reached up with her good hand to pat her human's leg affectionately. "I trust you. If there is a danger, you will tell me. We are not endangering these people. And this is the best way for us to both combine disparate intel into something coherent, and..."

Her sensors focused on Na'an's face momentarily, and saw that her human had fixed her eye on the child in the room with a now-familiar intensity.

"And do whatever the Force seems intent on you doing."

Leigh turned her attention outwards, waving at the small dais where Miss Arenais would soon take control of the meeting. A human her database had already flagged as her brother Caedyn was already standing there; she waved at him mildly with her cannon arm.

She felt the call before it had pinged her datapad in an encrypted message. Her boots, unfortunately necessary in this location, made no sound as she calmly walked the halls like she lived here. Adelle brought Elly along, just in case something happened either here or on the green planet. Her meditation within the hidden planet's nexus had offered no insight into this visit's future. Adelle stretched her senses along the derelict halls, feeling Elly's ever-presence. They were close to the meeting room.

The blast doors hissed open as the pressure changed to match and Adelle felt a flood of life flow from the room. Her heart leapt in her throat. Na'an. There had always been the possibility, but she hadn't dared to hope-- Adelle took a steadying breath and looked at her student. This much in one room would be overwhelming.

"You don't have to go in if it's too much," Adelle said. Despite their turbulent history, Eliana had changed and grown into someone Adelle could care for. "But I have to go."

She stepped in quietly and made her way to a small opening near the back wall. So many. And quite a few other Force presences. Adelle made sure the veil covering the lower half of her face--and most of her scarring--was in place. The call brought her here. And the call would pull them to the Hidden if they listened.

It had taken a while for Darlyn to decide if today was a day for disguises, or if he would be more than safe to simply attend a Rebellion meeting without having to worry about it. Ultimately of course, he couldn't simply show up naturally, his shuttle and the ease of figuring out he had left for this would be too much in that case. So half measures were taken, with Darlyn limiting his wardrobe to the ever classic white tunic and brown robes of a jedi, and his crossguard saber rather than his more intimately connected weapon. That alone would give him at least some plausibility of being someone else if anyone spotted him on his way there, but for the rebels would let them know more or less what he was bringing to the table. Had to make a good impression after all, since this would be the first time meeting many of the members.

After making several unnecessarily complex jumps to get there, he was all too happy to finally be able to get up and stretch his legs, walking out into the decrebid station's hangar bay. He noted a good number of folks seemed to have shown up, and gave those who had stayed back with their transportation as guards a curt nod. Smart move, especially if they had to leave fast. Seemed the cells in opperation had good heads on their shoulders.

When he reached the meeting room, he almost immediately regretted not bringing a taozin amulet with. He coud feel the presences everywhere, and not just the familiar ones like the twins Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and Caedyn Arenais, or even Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan who was recieving a very knowing look from him. He coupd feel at least a few others, with too bright a flame to be non-sensitives. Which meant they might actually remember his signature later, or react to the darkness he was bringing into the room.

It was a good thing these folks were on his side.

Well, best to find a place to get comfy. He started to mill about for a while, trying to find a place he could stand without issue. Turns out, stuffing an entire rebellion or two into a single room made it hard, especially when everyone wanted to clump together. Eventually though he spotted the old bleachers, and began to make his way over, passing by Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla . He spared her a glance and nodded at her with a small smile. "Su cuy'gar, Vizsla."

Finally reaching the bleachers, Darlyn used the Force to simply propel himself to the top as gracefully as he could manage, finding himself a seat next to the small eoman Vidalu Na'an Vidalu Na'an and the much taller LE-03 (Leigh) LE-03 (Leigh) . Giving himself a quick dusting, he took a seat and nodded at them both, before motioning to Leigh's cannon arm. "Looks like some good hardware. Not easy to come by, my guess would be a minaturized electromagnetic plasma cannon? Or would that be wrong?" He was speaking directly to Leigh, he'd gotten used to treating droids as sentient until proven otherwise after the long time he spent dealing with the Metal Lords what felt like ages ago. Better not to insult them if that was the case.

The Sleeper slid into the station with a strange slow pace for a fast attack corvette, especially one that was an old Zakuul vessel. On the bridge, Kalic sighed a little as he gathered his things to walk out of the bridge.

"Be ready to gun it and hold them off while everyone gets out."

"Yes sir." Kalic would then walk off, heading into the station. He looked around, not really hiding who he was there. No real point. He would continue walking before heading to where the group was. He knew Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun was supposed to be there, but he didn't know who else would be. He recognized Caedyn Arenais and Darlyn Excron Darlyn Excron from Lori's wedding, and while he didn't know Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla , the Outer Rim spacer knew who Mandalorians were. Warrior who supposedly rod Mythosaurs when they were still around. Or that was what he'd heard at least. There was one shocker in the group though.

On the shoulder of a droid was someone he recognized. The same one from.... Was it really...? He walked over, looking up at the woman. The Force around her seemed familiar enough. He'd then speak up a little.

"Do I know you? Wait. I do know your droid friend at least."

Na'an's attention had, for the moment, fixed on Kalic from the instant he walked through the door. "Yes," she said mildly, her chin resting on Leigh's dome. Only the sharpness in her good eye showed anything more intense than the dreamy interest with which she'd addressed the droid before. "I'm sure you know quite a lot of people, Daws."

She drummed her fingers on Leigh's shoulder, giving her a moment of her attention, but the droid's focus was already being drawn by one of the few faces in the room that had gathered both of their interest--a bright-faced ginger of a Jedi with clear ties to the Mandalorian cells of the Rebellion. She could feel the Force in him on her skin, like a late-summer sunburn--but there would be time for that later.

Na'an had been hoping to catch Kalic Daws before the talking really got started.

She slipped easily off Leigh's shoulders, landing with a bounce on the balls of her feet in front of the Miraluka. She patted Leigh's arm with one hand to let her know she was stepping away, waved to the ginger to be polite, and took Kalic by the shoulder to lead him a few feet down the old bleachers.
"I'm actually really glad to see you again, after the scuffle on Batuu," she said, focusing hard on keeping her voice and her face bright. Casual. The look of friendly acquaintances, seeing each other again after only a short absence. "But I am a little worried that it's here. Are you sure it's safe? For you to be at this talk?"

As she fixed the Miraluka with her good eye again, Na'an found herself wishing she knew exactly how Miralukan senses worked. Could he see the sudden tension in her shoulders without eyes? Or would he feel her out, the intensity of her focus, the way she was feeling him out--ferreting out the smell on him that sent a familiar cold prickle down her spine?

"Aren't you putting quite a lot of your friends at risk like this?"

This wasn't the human Leigh had been waving to, but this was just as good a start as any. She recalibrated as she dropped her cannon into her good hand, scanning the database she had kept on all known prominent members of the Eclipse Rebellion. Darlyn Excron was a self-proclaimed Jedi with clear ties to the Mandalorian sections of the Rebellion, which were pointedly independent even within her network. His work with them was excellent, highly detailed, and a yet-unexplored tie to some of the Voice of Abbaji's most valuable resources. And Leigh had not been the only one to flag him--her human partner had glossed over some of his reports with interest of her own, although hers seemed more focused on the actions of the individual rather than the connections he cultivated. She had caught her scowling over several of the reports more than once, as if trying to put together a difficult puzzle she had only half the pieces to, but had never been able to explain what about them she'd found so interesting at the time.
Leigh turned her attention upwards, to gauge Na'an's reaction to this sudden greeting and more than half expecting her to be the first to speak--

She slipped easily off Leigh's shoulders, landing with a bounce on the balls of her feet in front of the Miraluka. She patted Leigh's arm with one hand to let her know she was stepping away, waved to the ginger Jedi to be polite, and took Kalic by the shoulder to lead him a few feet down the old bleachers.

Only to find her otherwise occupied. Curious. Leigh marked the sharp look in her partner's eye as she ushered Agent Daws into a private corner, mentally collating it for later analysis. Na'an and Kalic had met very briefly during her self-appointed mission on Batuu--did he have something to do with whatever happened there that had driven her to such distraction?
In the split second it took for her to formulate the question, Leigh also realized that she was leaving Darlyn's question unanswered. She modulated her voice into an awkward laugh. "You will have to pardon her," she said by way of explanation. "My partner is a creature of impulse, but does not mean to be rude. I am sure she will be back soon--she was quite interested in the idea of meeting you on our way here."
She was still holding her cannon arm in her good hand; she gestured with it, returning the to subject he had approached her about in the first place. It had been a while since someone had asked her about her own chassis--Na'an had been the last. "As far as the cannon, I am afraid you are mistaken. My creator, in the interest of experimentation, constructed a multi-phase field generator as its primary power center. Electromagnetics and plasma are involved in one of those phases, but shifting phases allows me more versatility in combat situations. I find myself using the non-fatal sonic settings as my primary fire more often than not."

It was...nice...to be able to brag about her own chassis again. Instead of pretending to be a mindless combat unit.

Kalic seemed to smirk a little at the suggestion that he knew a lot of people. It wasn't wrong, but at the same time it wasn't quite true either. However he looked at it, it did give him a chance to explain some.

"I've worked with Kahlil and Lori, and it's hard to miss a Mandalorian, but honestly I'm more a... acquisitions guy right. Though Zambrano probably thinks I'm a mad man after.... Eh... let's just say it wasn't a smooth deal." Kalic would sigh a little, remember having to run from blaster bolts on Takodana. The Miraluka then noticed that Vidalu was wanting to lead him a little further down the bleachers, and would soon speak up, seeming to speak in a friendly voice. She was happy to see him after Batuu, but she was worried? Was he sure it was safe? It's here? Putting his friends in danger? He gave a confused, odd look as he tried to wrap his head around what she was saing. His mind then went back to one of his visions....

He was standing there with the others, seeming to run from... something. It didn't reveal that. He then pulled his blaster, pointing it at the others before... he... No!

"I... I don't know what you're talking about. I couldn't hurt them... right?" There was an odd hint of fear on him now, but not like a fear of being found out. It was more like he was scared of... something. "Why...? Why are you asking.?"

Lori watched as various people filed into the small room, making it more cramped as time went on. And given that the air was stale, that kind of helped. It was far better than being stuffy.

It was almost as though her cousin was still alive, sending people out to watch over her as he always did, and to be sure that they could all be armed to the teeth if they wanted to be.

Caedyn Arenais , Song Song and Eina L'lerim-Vandiir Eina L'lerim-Vandiir joined in, the latter two that she didn't recognize. LE-03 (Leigh) LE-03 (Leigh) , Vidalu Na'an Vidalu Na'an , Adelle Bastiel Adelle Bastiel were the first Rebels that she had known. They brought her into the fold after Bakura.

Bakura....

Such a tragedy that was. It was the spark that ignited and fanned the already rebellious nature inside of her. It was what made her become a bane to the Eternal Empire's existance. And as she wasn't under cover at the time, and had no issues with speaking her mind, it didn't take much for her to become the Face of the Eclipse Rebellion. Lori was a bit of an escape artist too, usually through blind luck, so being a target wasn't something that bothered her either. Her family was used to that.

Darlyn Excron Darlyn Excron appeared. He was of course, her favourite Uncle. The two tended to goof off together. Kalic Daws Kalic Daws arrived next and she was glad to see him here too.

The last time that she had seen many of these people was at her wedding to Curtis Learchin Curtis Learchin . He was off on his own mission, spurred on by his past. With the turmoil going on in Sith space currently, she wasn't surprised. But it wasn't as though she could actively follow him. There was too much at stake.

And now all eyes were on her. Was she supposed to make a speech? Well, she didn't prepare one. Best to just wing it!

"We are gathered here today to--Whoops! Wrong speech!" She snickered a little, if only to break not just her own tension, but those of everyone else around her. "Thank you all for coming. For those of you that don't know, I am Loreena Arenais, the public Face of the Eclipse Rebellion, which as you can see is a rag tag group that has defeated many odds. Who knew just a few years ago that we could reach such a point that the Empire still hasn't destroyed us? It might be because Tacitus is dead, it might not. Regardless we continue to grow, as do our benefactors. But we can't be complacent when it comes to a helping hand from others. Even the GA and NIO have reached out with deals to be struck, for they also want the Eternal Empire eradicated. Yet when one tyrant falls, another rises to take their place. Look at what's happening with the Sith right now. Instead of one powerhouse, there are now three? Maybe more? Such conflicts in that region have given us the opportunity to strike here, should we wish it. For we all know that the Eternal Empire and the Sith are intertwined. The Empire has already diverted some of their forces away from their home space.

We have plenty of resources, plenty of supplies. My question is; what level of risk do you want to take with them? How far should we go?"

For the time being, Lirri was watching only in silence, as she didn't know anyone. Her attention was most drawn to @ LE-03 (Leigh), as the little girl was a technomancer and LE-03 was a technology, so they became the most interesting to the girl. Until Lori finally started talking. She was familiar to her because of Commenor, as was Caedyn. Although they never met in person, but she knew who they were.

"The biggest question is what they did, which is why it is necessary. I am not familiar with the affairs of the Eternal Empire… only as an outside observer, but in recent years only hearing positive things in the outside world, they have rebuilt planets and similar… Erm… are trying to end the war, and…"

Lirri listed these in her girlish voice. For some reason she had a very bad feeling about it. She knew she wasn't the best at this, since she was by no means part of the Empire or the rebellion. All she knew was that in war, the Eternal Empire wanted peace, always rescuing the wounded and defenseless before either side could kill them. In the eyes of the little girl, there was nothing to cause a rebellion against them. Could she be in the wrong place?

"You're not going to do what made the Jedi name became a curse at Korriban, aren't you? Because if so, I'm not here anymore!"

The little girl had no problem if they wanted to kill Dark Side people. It’s much more so if it’s an unequal fight, or they want to kill unarmed people here too. It was not worthy of the Light Side.

"Aren't you, right?!"

Taozi watched as faces old and new walked in, and she smiled at the look Darlyn Excron Darlyn Excron gave her as he walked in. He wasn't being particularly subtle either, so who was he to judge? At least she was hiding her face. She was quite surprised to see Aloy Vizsla Aloy Vizsla and her guards walk in, not expecting to see any Vizslas joining the rebellion. Though, she could hear the quiet whispers in Atrisian of her own vode about them.

A snap of her fingers ended that discussion quickly.

She felt the familiar signature of Vidalu Na'an Vidalu Na'an and was pleasantly surprised to finally see the Woman in Gold's full face for once. Kalic Daws Kalic Daws Was a new face to her, and it was interesting to see, presumably, a Miraluka among the Rebel ranks. Song Song and Eina L'lerim-Vandiir Eina L'lerim-Vandiir both caught her interests with how obvious it was they were fresh faces to the rebellion. The fact that Lirri introduced herself as a Padawan didn't raise Taozi's hopes for the girl, and elicited a sigh from the Alor.

Then, Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun shared her little speech, with Caedyn Arenais right beside her.

It was a good speech, with good points and questions. Hopefully it would make people think about what direction they wanted to go, considering how disorganized the Rebellion could be. Lirri's outburst in response, however, only served to annoy Taozi. Stepping forward, one of her vod handed her a datacard, and she walked up to the large holoprojector in the middle of the room.

"Since we have those who are ignorant of why this rebellion started, allow me to enlighten them with a recording of what the Eternal Empire is capable of. Do watch carefully, child and learn that every rebellion has a reason. Every government has skeletons in it's closet, you just need to drag them out into the light."

Taozi stared at Lirri from behind her mask as she spoke and inserted the datachip, before a recording of that fateful event on Bakura began to play. Men, women, and children peacefully protesting against the Empire. Then, a massacre. The Tal members that stayed near the wall all clenched the fists in anger. They were all there when it happened, and one of them even slammed their fist against the wall.

"Do you understand now, child, that no matter how bright and shiny you think the reputation of a government, there will always be a sickening truth behind the curtain? Even your fellow Jedi have skeletons in their closets. Grow up, and realize the Galaxy has more nuance than you think there is. If you're not ready to understand this, then forget everyone you see here, and go hide behind whichever coward you call a Master in your little Order."

"Peace, Doctor," Adelle said from the back, projecting her voice to be heard. She'd recognize that color and presence anywhere: there was only one being she'd really ever seen wearing pink of that shade. "I'm sure none of us were so worldly at that age. That said--"

Her gaze found the young Jedi that spoke up to begin with, her presence a small candle's flame stirred by chaotic winds of occurrences. "Most people do not rise up against a superior force without a cause they believe in. It started at Bakura. It didn't end there. And there's been no acknowledgement of harm done, no reparations, and no withdrawal from the planets they've conquered. To my admittedly limited knowledge. Good deeds mean nothing without accountability. With or without a new leader, they are still the Eternal Empire that committed atrocities to begin with."

"Sonics as well? You had my curiosity but now you have my attention! My personal blaster also has a sonic setting, drains the power pack like nothing else but it is good for stuff like your non lethals. Except on Bith for, obvious reasons. Wonder what kind of yield your weapon can get to on the electroplasmetic setting, mine can only extend maybe half a meter from impact before being harmless, stupid thing almost always smacks me or flies from my hand when I use it anyways though. Would love to see your chasis in action, from behind your gun instead of in front of it I mean."

He loved guns, so much so he was just talking fast like an excited kid. Wanting to ask a thousand questions, compare his to hers, everything. He'd be embarassed if he noticed, but thankfully there was no time to do so before Lori spoke. He chuckled along with her initial joke, and paid attention to her as she continued. He did give Leigh a look and polite gesture to make sure he wasn't rude to trail off like they had.

After that, the padawan spoke. She sounded naive and uneducated on this topic. She seemee eager to learn but afraid of going down a bad path, like the Jedi of other governments. The ones that wanted to burn all of Korriban, and had ties to just recently mentioned governments. A valid concern for someone who didn't know, especially a child. They didn't know better after all.

He was about to speak to the padawan directly, before Taozi spoke up instead. Almost immediately, the firm tone of her voice struck him in a way that actually caused the corner of his lip to twitch. She wasn't wrong, but she seemed to be treating Lirri like an idiot child, like...

His voice, after Taozi spoke, wasn't filled with malice. It was calm, and he maintained direct eye contact with the masked medic. "Your tone of voice reminds me of my old master. He talked the same way to me, like I was an idiot, and a fool. The padawan is a kid, one you have a remarkable lack of compassion for in this moment. I can't help but wonder how your favorite student would feel, disappointed for sure." He would have mentioned her son as well, if he wished to be cruel, but knowing what she knew that was enough.

Especially since he wasn't even aware of the ice he was trying to form around her feet, in response to his anger at her. Dark instinct. The ice faded quickly when his attention had turned to the young Lirri. After another woman spoke, he did as well.

"You're Lirri you said? I think I've seen you a few times when I visit the temples. I know why your worried, Jedi have done awful things before. And people change, get better. But the Eternal Empire isn't innocent, they have been built on vile deeds and good public relations. They rebuild worlds, but they broke worlds first. They claim what they say is truth and push down dissenting opinions. You aren't even a citizen without serving the government to some capacity. Soldiers mostly. Not to mention making ewoks legally huntable, and food... a sentient species made into food. We aren't out to destroy people. We want broken people to get better, and stop a broken system from hurting everyone. As it stands that means opposing the Empire until the bad elements can be ripped out, and the people can make changes, be better. Get better."

He leaned back in his seat a bit, before adding one more thought. A thought he said aloud, but with a far off look. "And the Force has been guiding people here, against them. I can feel it, even if I don't understand it.

Lori looked to Eina L'lerim-Vandiir Eina L'lerim-Vandiir as she spoke, being reminded of Subject 73 Red Subject 73 Red as he had tried to justify his support for the Eternal Empire, and calling her the terrorist for attacking a 'legitimate' government. Her old...friend...had bought into the Imperial propaganda and it had turned him against her. So much so that he was involved in the attack on Mnemosyne at her own wedding, where many innocents were killed. And for what? To either kill her or capture her. Such an operation was something that she would never do. She wouldn't let her hatred of the Empire overshadow her morality and reason.

Taozi Fuyuan Taozi Fuyuan brought up images of Bakura, some of which she only bore witness to briefly before escaping through the sewers with a few dozen civilians. As always she wished that she could have saved more. Lori's jaw tightened as the images played out. But they were an affective tool in gaining them more recruits and support.

"My brother and I came across the Ewok villages on the forest moon of Endor. Or rather, what was left of them. And then we discovered the slaughterhouses. It was the most....disgusting thing and is not something that paints any government in a glorious light. It is evil, plain and simple. And they need to be stopped. The Ewoks and every other world that they oppress need to be freed."
