After having said his piece at the Corporate Interests Guild summit on Bothawui, it was humorously ironic that Castor found himself attending an economic moot within an Imperial palace on a world seated between three neo-Imperial states, one of which was partly to blame for the meeting's necessity. The Dark Empire was making moves to nationalize its holdings and punish economic adversaries, forcing Castor and the rest of the Corporate Sector Authority to get creative with its Imperial dealings. This meeting on Ord Radama was not to rehash the decisions and trajectories already established by the Interests Guild, but rather a preemptive measure to line up new avenues of business and commerce.

The invitees included: Morrigan Thorne Morrigan Thorne of Thorne Enterprise and Trade; Emilia Locke Emilia Locke of Locke Holdings; Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell of Aina Holdings; Liin Terallo Liin Terallo of NCBC; and Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath of N&Z. A trader, a banker, a miner, a biologist, and an industrialist... it almost sounded like the setup for a bad joke.

Yet here they were, gathering in the durasteel halls of an Imperial obelisk to discuss how best to make more of the almighty credit. "I'm pleased so many of you made it to Ord Radama," Castor said with a smile to the other elites. "Finding a neutral system between two Empires, the Sith, and the Alliance is much more difficult than one would imagine." He shuffled a few holopads around, glancing briefly at them to ensure he had all he needed before proceeding. To the ExO's right was a gold-eyed supervisor droid that had become his signature administrative assistant throughout the Corporate Sector and beyond. It glared emotionlessly at the assembled businesspeople, hands clutching a stack of additional datapads should anyone need a spare.

Castor gave the group a look-over, counting mentally each member before offering them a sly grin. "I believe that's everyone, yes? Let us begin."

Makai looked around the room, taking in those assembled. He only knew one person and that was the ExO. Miss Terallo he was vaguely familiar with - his father was experimenting with her company's biomolecules and its properties with metals. Beyond that? He had never heard of anyone else around the table.

Thirty-Seven, his personal assistant droid standing behind his chair, had created files on each of those he wasn't terribly aware of. It only helped so far. Thorne was a trader who worked in the Core and Mid-Rim. He typically used Arceneau Trade, but having more than one avenue in these times was critical. Curious if the woman was related to Adalee Thorne Adalee Thorne and House Thorne on Lorrd. Then there was Locke - again, related to the infamous John Locke John Locke ? However, Elatar Heavy Industry could be very beneficial for him since he was in a flurry of expansion. Mister Nargath was someone he was unfamiliar with but according to Thirty-Seven, the man had placed 'no trade' clauses on all businesses who had contracted with the young Braze Braze .Makai thought it a foolish and emotional move, one made more by a child than a businessman.

Either way.

"Aina Holdings is open for collaboration and contracts. I believe Miss Locke and I might benefit from a contract, but it may to be early in our meeting for that. Mining, extractions, gemstones is our main game, but we've also been dabbling in agriculture, especially utilizing ocean farming."

Sighing as she walked down the hallway, Morrigan started to sort out her suit, hand made by some of the top tailors on Coruscant. A dark purple colour flowed along her body as she buttoned up her overcoat. A large, elaborate silver necklace was draped around her neck and over her chest right where a gap in the clothing was. Morrigan Thorne was a business woman and a dignified one at that. She hardly trusted public transport, or even most private transport companies, due to the many people that are robbed annually on their way to work or home both on and off world. The silver shuttle, branded with her business's logo let its thrusts quiet down to silence as the pilots maintained it. The woman they dropped off, their boss's heels clicked down the hallway until she reached the meeting room.

The whole room was well maintained, a large circular table at the centre of the black stone and steel room. Giving her details to a welcomer, she took her assigned place. Behind her was a young man in a pitch black suit with a vibrant purple tie around his neck. His face is young with amber eyes full of optimism. With a careful eye, one could easily tell that this young business man, co-owner of Thorne Enterprise and Trade, was Morrigan Thorne's son. Whilst is brown mess hair was a far cry from his mother's silky smooth hair, the eyes and the way he held himself were exactly the same. As Morrigan took her seat, her son placed down four tablets, all holding recent data from all trades through the company. The data went back a year and a half. Any more and Morrigan would have protested as her company's clients and contracts with other businesses were supposed to be kept confidential. Most of the data hardly associated a name with each journey, just what was transported, where to, and how many credits were received for the task.

Hearing the many at the other end of the table speak out to her and the others gathered there, she put on a neutral face. The mention of the various factions that were surrounding the planet's sector had her tense internally. "This better be worth the journey. I had to cross fourteen sectors to be here today," Morrigan muttered, her eyes scanning the various people in the room. "It will be, mother," The young Riven Thorne said, whispering the answer into her ear as he checked on each device to make sure nothing dodgy was happening to them whilst they talked.

A detour on the way back to New Cov from the previous business meeting had brought Liin to Ord Radama. Curiously enough two others had followed suit; yet there were many more that she did not recognize.

Taking hold of the datapad, she skimmed through it's contents, making note of where deeper study would be required later on her journey. The contents of the datapad detailed each business, including NCBC which is very helpful for those not in the know. New Cov is isolated, afterall, despite it's close proximity to Alliance territory and it's position among the hyperspace routes. That isolation in and of itself held many pros and cons of which were noted by her during the most recent attack on Ilic City.

{I do hope that this all goes well, although I cannot help but worry that these meetings may become a danger as well in the future,} Linn pondered. {I'm sure that it won't be long before the Dark Empire catches wind of them through spies and begins to act on those that they deem to be breaking their laws.....At least NCBC doesn't fall under it.}

As Liin was about to speak, another takes the floor before her, detailing his company's avenues of business. Normally she would wait until last to speak, however the previous meeting had regained her some of the confidence she had lost during the attack.

Once Makai was finished, Liin took to the floor. "Thank you for the invitation. For those unaware, I am Director Liin Terallo of the New Cov Biomolecule Company. We specialize in harvesting biomolecules of which are one of the rarest resourses in the Galaxy. Their uses extend beyond that of medicinal and delve even further to that of military and biosteel."

{Even special jewelry.} Liin's eyes briefly dropped to the Covines Ring that encircled her right ring finger. But such an industry wasn't ready for an open market just yet.

Emilia scrolled through the datapad that had been provided, reviewing the information as their host spoke. Most of the people in the room were unfamiliar to her, making this a good opportunity to establish connections. Setting the device down, she let her eyes wander, mentally associating faces with names.

A young man began speaking, and Emilia's green eyes turned toward Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell as he mentioned being open to contracts, even referring to her by name. Already off to a good start, she mused, a pleased smile touching her lips. She gave him a nod, as if to say, let’s talk.

Another voice followed, introducing herself as the head of a biochemical company. Emilia turned toward her and offered a respectful nod to Liin Terallo Liin Terallo . There could also be opportunities there, she thought.

Sensing a brief pause after Liin spoke, Emilia seized the opportunity to take the floor. She donned a winning smile as she addressed the group. "First, thank you for the invitation to this gathering. My name is Emilia Locke, representing Locke Holdings and its subsidiaries. Our primary business is financial in nature be that loans, investments, acquisitions. You get the gist of it, I'm sure. Pleased to make your acquaintances."

Generally, the Head of House Nargath and Chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation's Board of Directors tended to favor a low key arrival and prided himself on usually not needing any sort of security detail because of the way that he tended to handle things, but with the ever growing threat of being taken down by those business rivals who could feel the breathing of the rejuvinated N&Z within their neck and the fact that he had made it clear that he would tear off the wings of the Dark Empire's corporate wings if need be, Tertius had made himself quite a few enemies, both potential ones and actual ones.

For this reason, the Marquis arrived at the Ord Radama meeting place with a small contingent of N&Z Security soldiers, flanking him and overseeing his every move from landing at the nearest spaceport til his arrival at the actual room where he was expected to make an appearence. Leaving these men outside, the Marquis finally found himself in the presence of another group of Businessmen and corporate players, both known and unknown to him. However, the ones that he did know, he simply greeted with a curtious nod before he'd turn his attention to the few he had not yet gotten to know yet, not in person at the very least.

However, before he could properly adress those he wished to adress, Tertius noticed that Castor Crane Castor Crane who was presiding this meeting and who had also been present at the Guild meeting had already called for a start of the precedings. Nodding into Castor's direction, the N&Z Chairman got seated and clasped his hands calmly and gently together all the while leaning a bit back to allow others to first give their piece of mind.

At first it seemed that a young man spoke up, Tertius had little information on him besides a name and a basic, preliminary profile of his most obvious dealings. Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell was a member of the same Family that had taken the initiative to bring together so many industrial and financial powerhouses in a bid to curb the repurcussions from the Dark Empire's fatalistic law implementations as of late. However, this also meant that through one way or another, this man was connected to that insolent brat called Braze Braze whose threats and hypocrisy truly did hit the wrong note with the N&Z chairman, to such a degree even that he had implicitely banned any contract towards any of the companies directly controlled by this child and a very cautious approach to any other company that has had any past, present or future contracts with this child's companies.

His gaze was maintained upon this young man's face, calmly listening as he seemed to show willingness and openness to any possible contracts, a proposal and offer which only led to the Marquis showing a somewhat feint and sly smile in the man's direction.

Next to speak, was none other than Liin Terallo Liin Terallo , another member of the recently formed guild and though she seemed to be overwhelmed by those around her during the last meeting, her voice now rang through with more confidence and strength, which did peak Tertius' interest, as he wondered about these biomolecules she mentioned and how he could find a way to integrate such a rare material in his company's ever growing list of projects and expansions.

Lastly, it seemed it was a scion of the well known and well respected Locke Family to take the stand, Emilia Locke Emilia Locke seemed to display the same way of words and concise speech as the man Tertius knew to be the greatest Genius in Cybernetics the galaxy had seen for several eons. Nodding courteously towards her when she had introduced herself and had opened up her own offer, the Marquis looked at Castor Crane Castor Crane for a moment and at Morrigan Thorne Morrigan Thorne before calmly raising to his feet as well, once more nodding towards each of the present men and women and everything in between. "You may or may not know me, but I am Tertius C. Nargath, current Chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation. We deal in a large variety of sectors, ranging from security, to heavy industry, from mining to medicine. I am as such most willing to allow for my company's services, products, expertise and power to aid any of those who would need it. "

After listening to each of the people around her, one even turning up just in time for the proceedings to begin, the woman in purple just sat there. Her face was one of demure and subtlety. She had taken note of each of the people here, with their assistants or otherwise. Each of them was running a section of the galactic trade and enterprise. Powerful people with much to gain and lose at the drop of a hat. All people who needed one another, but struggling as if the galaxy itself was pulling them apart. Morrigan realised then that she had gotten off easy, but that was down to how careful she was when consorting with other enterprises and diplomats.

After Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell got up and introduced himself, Morrigan could hear notes being taken quietly by her son. Under her request that is. Got to understand who you were potentially working with. Or who to avoid. After he sat down, Linn Dobson Linn Dobson got up and gave her introduction. The idea of using certain materials for new purposes intrigued her, but Morrigan kept her silence. Then, Emilia Locke Emilia Locke spoke. Mentioning her business dealt with money, loans and many a linked subject, Morrigan gave a small, near minute, head tilt towards her. Money was the most powerful thing now adays. Stronger than a blaster, starship, or even that Force thing those Jedi kept banging on about. Lastly, Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath spoke. A man of security and with enough power to have a militia up in arms ready to take on a battalion of soldiers. An intimidating presence, but Morrigan admired that.

Once he said his peace, Morrigan sat up, her movements graceful. Even though her left arm was covered in a luxurious piece of clothing, a silver cybernetic hand peaked from the sleeve. "Seeing as how we are introducing ourselves, I believe I should follow suit. My name is Morrigan Thorne, I am the primary owner of Thorne Enterprise and Trade. Whilst providing safe transport for multiple other facilities such as factories, smaller businesses, and more, we also have a reach extending throughout the core worlds and the Mid Rim. I have brought as much data of these transactions as I can, without breaking any contracts with previous clients or conglomerates," Morrigan's voice was smooth as silk as she finished her greeting, giving a slight head bow to the group in the room, before taking her seat once again. "So, Mr Crane , would you please enlighten us why we were invited to this meeting far into the Mid Rim? Whilst I have trading power here, it wasn't an easy journey to make from Coruscant," Morrigan said, her tone inquisitive and probing, yet her voice carried an innocent curiosity.

Castor decided to forgo a formal introduction, allowing his position as the CSA's ExO to precede him and pave the way for getting right down to business. The cybernetic apertures in his eyes tightened, then expanded, giving him an almost droid-like appearance. "I assure you, with the Authority's current standing with the Imperials, it was not an easy journey for me to make, either. Certainly not one I would make if there wasn't ample opportunity to make friends... and credits." He was referring to the decision made at the recent Coporate Interests Guild meeting on Bothawui, where he and some of the galaxy's most prestigious corporate elites decided collectively to use financial sanctions to remind the Dark Empire of what it means to be a team player. For larger enterprises like Castor's, the loss of Imperial contracts was a drop in the bucket - noticeable, but not fatal. Other companies would struggle, go bankrupt, or simply fold under the Imperial nationalization decree.

"This meeting is to facilitate new avenues of partnership between likeminded individuals and their holdings," Castor said plainly. "Each of our respective corporations has needs, and in light of the political landscape these days, the Guild believes it best for corporations to work together so that we may stand together when emperors and tyrants threaten our bottom dollar." He snapped his finger at the supervisor droid behind him, sending it into action.

The droid moved to pass out holopads to anyone who wished for one, and once the party was armed with data and projections, Castor opened the next topic of discussion. "As Mister Dashiell here is already thinking, there are many mutually beneficial arrangements available between us. The Corporate Sector, for starters, is in need of new defense contracts. We need new security measures," he said, looking to Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath - "raw materials to produce new equipment," he nodded at Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell - "cutting edge resources to upgrade our assets," now to Liin Terallo Liin Terallo - "financial backing repaid with strong returns," he promised to Emilia Locke Emilia Locke - "and, of course, a trade company willing to facilitate transit." He smiled at Morrigan Thorne Morrigan Thorne then, hoping his words were tantalizing enough to earn him grace for the inconvenience of a Mid-Rim meeting site.

"The CSA's largest commodity is real estate," Castor said, his words a gross understatement. Selling land rights on pre-charted worlds and moons was the primary source of the Authority's wealth; corporations of all kinds paid top-credit prices to reserve entire swaths of uninhabited worlds for their express use, be it to grind the planet into dust for natural resources or to take advantage of the CSA's extremely lax regulations in the R&D field.

"Miss Thorne, with all due respect, if it was difficult for you to attend this meeting today, how will you be able to move goods for companies? I expect a trading company to navigate the hyperlanes with ease."

There was a point to his question. Out of the companies assembled, his might arguably be the largest, especially if one considered his subsidiaries and father's company. There was a plan to create a megacorporation and combine all their resources under one banner. His competition didn't need to know such a thing yet though.

However, it meant he was big enough to contract with each of them - should they want it.

"First order of business then..."

He paused. Makai was trying to get this expansion done before the birth of his daughter. Plenty of time but also that time was critical to get the ball rolling on projects. Several things were up in the air but this was one of the more critical portions.

"ExO Crane, I'm interested in land holdings in the Authority Arc on all planets - Ammuud, Urdur, Oslumpex, Matra, and Orron. We can have a sidebar conversation as to what. Miss Terallo, I would like to contract you for consulting on a agriculture project on Ammuud. I feel your company has a knowledge for what I need. Mister Nargarth, I am uncertain if you will look past your freeze on my company, but there is a partial security contract available to secure the proposed hub on Oslumpex. Miss Thorne, if you company can swing it, a contract moving raw ores and minerals out of the arc. Possibly foodstuffs out of Ammuud. Finally, Miss Locke, a business loan will be needed."

"Naturally, all of you are welcome to invest in the proposed trading hub on Oslumpex."

The only facility shut down by his father was on on Ketaris. There would be a difference in credits and a now need to find more sources of salvage, but they were far from feeling large effects of pulling out of the region. The meeting today was important to forge new company bonds - should more trouble come from the Empire they all needed to diversify who did business with whom.

With the introductions aside; the most important part of the meeting began to take place. And that is the discussion of various contracts. Liin was used to such meetings being held in a different manner altogether; be it at a formal dinner or even at a ball. But perhaps there is a bit of romanticism in how the Covie handle business which was a far cry from how the Galaxy holds them now. Decades of war is probably what spurned that on. Yet war was but a distant memory for the Covie. Their isolation, despite not being on the edge of the Galactic map had spared them from the hazards of war which would otherwise prove to be a hundred times worse than the sporatic raids on New Cov that occur.

{Let us hope that I do not forget anyone,} Liin thought. That in and of itself would be a most embarrassing political mistake. Fortunately her upbringing taught her to pay attention to those speaking and required her to take mental notes on what was being said. All of that would prove beneficial, in the end.

"ExO Crane, your offering of real estate is something that NCBC would be very interested in discussing. A recent incident on Ilic City has NCBC wanting to safeguard some of our assets to another secure location, in exchange for a portion of those assets. Mister Dashiell, we can certainly discuss your agricultural needs. Chairman Nargath, I would very much like to hear more about the heavy industry services that your Umbrella Company offers. Miss Locke, I would very much like to learn more about your offered financial services and whether or not they extend to secure safe boxes. And finally, Miss Thorne, a safe transportation of many goods and equipment to any newly purchased real estate will be required."

Allowing the droids to hand over the datapads, Tertius calmly looked over the proposals brought forth by Castor Crane Castor Crane and his Corporate Sector. The requests and possible exchanges seemed to be very decent, in fact there was little to no issue on the grounds of what was being asked, but there was one thing the chairman of the N&Z did dislike slightly. The fact that the N&Z was being requested solely for security meassures was in itself not truly an issue, but it somewhat seemed to bely the full scope of products and services the company could and had to offer. It was almost comparable to just asking the Arceneau Trading company to handle a few accounts with a thousand credits on them rather than utilizing the full width and scope of their services.

"While I may concur that Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell has a larger network of mines and refineries in his portfolio... perhaps limiting my own contribution to just security might be a bit...to light work on my part," The Eriaduan noble nodded towards The Dashiel scion, hoping the man could understand that Tertius was acknowledging his superior position in the mining game, especially now that he had managed to take over the lucrative doonium mines on Lothal, mines which Tertius had been aiming for when the Drey Corporation still had its chairman alive and well. "I propose that perhaps in addition to security, I could perhaps pitch in on the majority of these cases as a reserve. For instance, should Mr. Dashiel not be able to reach any agreed upon quota of raw materials, our USMC division can pitch in. Should there be a need for additional transport, again...we can pitch in through our STS division , and ofcourse...if New Cov needs to expand its facilities in terms of research and development, I do not mind to offer additional production facilities from our EnSol division.

It was in a sense an olive branch from Tertius' side, the N&Z was without question a massive company and though it may have appeared smaller than for instance the Arceneau trading corporation when it came in terms of number of subsidiaries, this was only because of the recent shift in the corporation's goal to become much more streamlined and efficient, relying rather on the strong brand of the N&Z itself rather than risking too much internal competition between their subsidiaries, focusing its divisions on their strengths and experience.

"I will admit though, that I am looking for expansion in terms of locations for both the STS and the N&Z security forces," The marquis nodded towards Castor Crane Castor Crane so the man would understand that perhaps he could look at his own portfolio in order to try and find some good locations that could entice the N&Z corporation's chairman into a profitable deal for both. However, while he did so, Tertius also heard how the Dashiel scion suddenly called him out, apparently proposing a deal of their own. Tilting his head when hearing about his company having put a freeze on Makai Dashiel's own, Tertius reached for his coat and pulled out his own personal datapad to check some things.

"Sir Dashiell, let me allow you to understand the current situation, so you may have a better grasp on my company's current policy in regards to your own," Reaching for his datapad, the man tapped a few times on the screen until it listed a number of corporations, including Arceneau Trading itself. Makai Dashiell's own company would also be distinguishable on that list. "These are companies known to trade or have contracts with the young man called Braze. When we had a discussion on the potential of my company perhaps buying a small amount of his mining ships as a matter of testing the waters between our companies and the potential for a further, larger contract... this brazen child not only insulted both mine and my company's integrity, but also threatened with repercussions simply because I took it upon myself to hold the young man to the same standards he tried to hold me to. As such, I have decided that it would be in the best interest of the N&Z to avoid dealings with companies that have dealings with such a parvenu as that young whippersnapper. However, I would be remiss to inform you that should a deal or contract be made with any of the companies on this list, it will be with some degree of apprehension on our part, but nevertheless with the same courteous standard we uphold ourselves to at all times."

The ExO's head tilted slightly as he processed the multiple trajectories of the meet thus far. His foremost thought was an agreeance with Mr. Dashiell's point, although he kept such an opinion to himself; if the owner of a hyperlane trading company had troubles navigating the still-neutral Hydian Way, then perhaps Miss Thorne's company was not as equipped to handle the vast amount of transportation the CSA and the other entities here needed. He could be wrong, of course... but that rarely was the case. Still, he would gladly hear Morrigan's rebuttal when she proclaimed it.

Castor turned his focus to Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell and his ambitious needs for operational rights on several Corporate worlds. "That can certainly be arranged, Mr. Dashiell," the red-eyed Corpo said with a nod. He made a few notes on his datapad, then nodded again. "The DireX Board will be interested in supporting your operations on Oslumpex, as well."

Liin Terallo Liin Terallo was interested in a planetary charter, too. She needed a place to store valuable NCBC materials and resources securely, in exchange for a share of them. Castor very much appreciated a straightforward barter, especially when something as valuable as New Cov biomolecules were on the table. "I'll forward your office a list of suitable worlds in the Corporate Sector for your operations, Miss Terallo," he said. "You'll have your pick, along with several options of construction contractors as well, should you require them."

Then came time to address several thoughts stirred by Tertius C. Nargath Tertius C. Nargath of N&Z Umbrella Corp. "To be frank," Castor said cautiously, "it's difficult to convince the other ExOs and PreXs on the Board that it's in our best interest to engage N&Z on all fronts of its business scope when you'd be willing to blacklist potential partners on the premise of boycotting a child." The ExO gestured to Makai, thinking of how many millions of credits Tertius must be risking just to prove a point to some insolent brat. "The CSA is comprised of dozens of household-name corporations. Would N&Z blacklist our signatories because they've no quarrel with a boy?" It's a risk that led Castor to reduce the range of duties he was willing to contract out to N&Z. Security was more of a trial run than anything; the Corporate Sector had more than enough backing from the Trade Federation and Strill Securities to offset the need for more manpower.

It was updated weapons, armor, and tactics that they needed. And friends. A long list of multi-factional allies was the one thing that kept the CSA afloat during the Clone Wars, then the Palpatine Empire, then the One Sith conflict, and onto now, when the Dark Empire, Sith Order, and Galactic Alliance were all looking over the shoulders of their corporate partners.

She listened quietly as each person spoke in turn. Some seemed more open to collaboration, while others appeared more interested in exploiting the rest of the room. This kind of games had always been something she despised. In business, she'd always preferred a straightforward approach state what you want, then work out how to get there. Too many here were wrapped up in minutiae.

As Castor Crane Castor Crane elaborated on his plan, outlining how they could leverage each other's strengths, Emilia noted that there would be much more dialogue before any agreement could be reached. With this many powerful individuals in one room, that process could take some time. Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell addressed her directly, tapping her for confirmation about seeking a loan, Emilia simply nodded. "Always happy to lend when there's a solid plan with good returns." she replied smoothly.

Then the conversation shifted to Mr. Nargath, who had apparently ceased doing business with Mr. Dashiell. Well, things were certainly getting interesting now. Even Castor had chimed in on the situation, adding his thoughts to the growing tension. Emilia watched intently, her gaze sharp as she silently observed how the dynamics in the room were beginning to shift.

"If I may," Emilia began, her tone measured but firm, "while I am not a interested party in this situation, allow me to say that it is well within Mr. Nargath's right to decide who he will or won't do business with. However, as Mister Crane has pointed out it could be perceived as a policy of exclusion rather than collaboration and would make others wary in potential dealings. Supposing any of us today sign a deal with Mr. Dashiell, could we then expect to find ourselves on a blacklist as well? Surely you see the concern Mr. Nargath"

He had tried to explain it once to Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell personally, but to have another one of these so-called well-informed leaders of the corporate world being swayed by what was essentially nothing but false conjecture and circulating rumours. Rubbing his fingers against his brow and clearly getting a headache from the misconceptions these people seemed to have began to give the man a sour taste in his mouth. The Eriaduan had no idea who came to the conclusion that the N&Z would blacklist half of the galaxy's companies on a whim. He hated hypocrisy, so it would be rather contradictory for someone like him to join so many of them in a boycot towards the Dark Empire, all the while following as Emilia Locke Emilia Locke so eloguently put it, conduct a policy of exclusion himself.

Letting out a deep sigh, the chairman of the N&Z Umbrella corporation leaned back, still continuing to rub his brow fervently. "I would like to ask which sources you use to base this ridiculous notions of yours on. What verification process have these baseless rumours gone through for you to be so gullible to believe them outright, Sir Castor Crane Castor Crane . There is only one person on our blacklist, a single person and the companies they run and own. We have reserved ourselves the right to remain vigilant and have a healthy dose of apprehension towards any company that actively deals with this particular person and their companies, but we have not blacklisted, nor would we blacklist anyone simply because they are simply performing their duty and goal as a company: to conduct business."

Removing his hand from his brow, the Eriaduan Marquis now looked straight into the cybernetic eyes of the red-eyed corpo, it was not a look of anger or range, but one of utter and complete disappointment that could be seen within the Marquis' eyes. "In business, it is prudent to verify everything. You verify the quality of the products you buy or sell, you verify the usefulness or the profit from deals and contracts you make and undertake, you verify the validity of someone's credit score when you loan them money, you verify the quality of the materials you mine and you verify the route you take when you transport goods."

Placing one hand underneath his chin and tilting his head a bit to rest his face lightly upon said hand, Tertius showed a somewhat sour smile. "I came here with the honest intentions to open up the N&Z Umbrella corporation to those who might be interested in or in need of our services and to look for potential partners for any interesting ventures, but in return I wonder what the point was of even coming to this place, let alone having been invited when the only thing I am to be confronted with is supposedly respected and experienced members of the corporate world throwing nothing but ill will towards me and my company based on nothing but UNVERIFIED, ridiculously misconstrued conjecture."

Placing his hands on the table, letting out a final deep sigh, Tertius looked around the room again. "So do tell me, what would any of you think and feel when you are confronted with such unfounded enmity?"

Makai rubbed his temple as Mister Nargath continued speaking. He hadn't intended to start some discussion regarding a child and how a child conducted business. In his opinion, what did one expect from a teenager who was running amok in a company with zero oversight?

Frankly he had better things to do besides get into a pissing match with someone who still hadn't hit puberty.

"Mister Nargath is free to conduct business with whom he feels like. Considering Mister Nargath has an issue with Aina Holdings, and I wouldn't want it to affect any company here, I withdraw my contract to N&Z Umbrella. Taking myself out of the equation will ensure each of you who may or may not want to conduct business with Mister Nargath are free to do so."

If he was the deciding factor, then so be it. The fact Mister Nargath had blacklisted him from conducting business with N&Z Umbrella was not an issue. Nothing he took personally and it was only a blip on his radar due to the boy in question.

"Or should any of you need to withdraw from potential business from myself, feel free to do so now. Although, Mister Crane and Miss Terallo, both of you are critical to my expansion so I do hope you take into consideration such an idea carefully."

"With all due respect," Liin chimed in, "I am not prepared to be boycotting any of the businesses here. What has gone on with some of you in the past has no relation to the purpose of this meeting, nor with NCBC. We are here to promote new business with eachother and to deepen our coffers. Not to cause further strife and division."

The bickering among some of the individuals here reminded her of previous members of the Board of Directors for NCBC that were soon voted out. The animosity that they created was deplorable, and it was for that reason that they were removed. Liin doubted that anyone would be removed from this meeting so much so as they would remove themselves. Either way, she was more than prepared to get in contact with each of the people here for more detailed discussions on the proposed business ventures that she had.

"Chairman Nargath, I will be very interested to discuss the details very soon. As one might assume, I do not think that New Cov could afford to keep all of our eggs in one basket, so to speak. This is what draws my attention to both yourself and to ExO Crane. I would be more than happy to speak with you individually, but I promise you that you both will secure contracts from me. Mister Dashiell, you needn't worry about not receiving my help. Agriculture is very important and beneficial to all. The Covie know that well enough. So please, do not presume that our ties will be lost."

{I hope that this doesn't sour any of their opinions of me nor of NCBC. It might not have been my place to speak up, but in all honesty I feel as though some of them are behaving like disgruntled younglings that were fighting over a toy.} Liin had allowed her thoughts to drift for that one small moment before she returned her attention back to the meeting at hand, ever vigilant to the reactions that her words may have brought forth.

"Mr. Nargath...?" Castor half-said, half-asked. "You just said aloud, before this board, that you preclude yourself from working with Dashiell because he in turn deals with this Braze kid. You waved around a holopad," he said, pointing to it, "that listed companies you choose not to work with because they deal with him." The ExO looked around the room expectantly. His lips were drawn into a straight line. Surely, he wasn't the only one who found the contradiction and subsequent denial odd. The others seemed hung up on N&Z's autonomy to work with, or without, whomever they wanted. That wasn't something Castor contested in the slightest. It was the behavior itself that bothered him.

"N&Z is free to broker deals and contracts as it pleases," the ExO said. "The chief concern here is that Mr. Nargath is willing to openly block business with potential partners based on this feud with a child. As I said, the Corporate Authority is comprised of dozens and dozens of enterprises. We have concerns about your 'apprehensions' towards us or out partners should it come to light that any of our signatory members do not participate in blacklists against this Braze individual." He paused for a moment, ensuring that he wasn't approaching this odd exchange with aggression. Castor was known for being a bit hotheaded, something he'd been training well to diminish.

"The CSA feels that a security contract with N&Z is a good way to test the waters and see if your conglomerate is a good fit for us. But if that is beneath you - and if N&Z's policy is to close lines of business to spite a boy - then I must turn your question against you: why are you here?" Nargath's relations with the Authority might end before they begin, but Castor wouldn't derail the entire meeting to fixate on the topic of N&Z. There were others here who were eager to broker new lines of business, and the CSA was equally eager to facilitate.

Castor looked to Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell and Liin Terallo Liin Terallo with earnest eyes. "Oslumpex can be arranged," he said. "And whatever frontier most benefits your operations, Miss Terallo, will be arranged as well." All they needed to tie things up neatly was some financial backing from Emilia Locke Emilia Locke and her firm.

Letting out a sigh, the chairman of the N&Z corporation listened to what the red-eyed man of the corporate sector was saying, showing he had yet again not listened to a single word the Marquis had said. He did not say outright that he'd do no business with the companies on the list. Standing up from his chair when the man had spoken his mind, Tertius calmly straightened his crevatte and glanced at Makai Dashiell Makai Dashiell for a moment, if Tertius had been any lesser man, he would've shown rage and anger, but now he showed only disappointment and regret. Not regret for having explained everything and still having people misunderstand the very premise of the list of companies, no...regret that he had even come to this meeting, but he was stuck now... he either blindly took the contract or he'd actually risk his own company being blacklisted... it was in a way funny how those exalting inclusion tended to be the ones to quickly exclude others.

Tertius shrugged and put his datapad back into his vest, nodding politely to Castor Crane Castor Crane . "I wonder the same thing, why am I here? When you clearly do not need me nor want me here. It sadly makes your contract more of a leash than anything else. Which is a pity...because it isn't in itself a bad contract you offer, considering the Security Division is the last one of the N&Z's main divisions to be reorganized in the near future."

Raising a hand to his brow, the Chairman let out a sigh again as he rubbed the bridge of his nose before chuckling softly. "I guess a leash it is than, it wouldn't be bad to try and dispell false rumors and miscommunication by proving the N&Z's overall worth and integrity."
