As the festivities of the formal coronation came to a close, the more distinguished guests of the event were invited to attend a grand feast. Fortuitously, Adhira happened to be among the esteemed number of powerful individuals ushered into the brightly lit banquet hall and seated among a number of Confederacy officials. There were a number of diplomats, Viceroys, local rulers, and a wide range of top brass woven among the representatives of the major galactic governments. The Alliance emissary found herself seated next to a Naboo aristocrat and a representative from one of the major trade organizations headquartered in CIS space. Between gulps of bubbly alcoholic drinks, she endeavored to make polite conversation with them both.
In truth, Adhira had not been very thrilled to be sent to Naboo as the formal representative of the Alliance, but she understood the delicate balance of peace which depended on her government observing certain niceties. This little celebration of everything Confederate happened to be one of them and she hardly trusted one of the Populist war-mongers to do the job.
"No, really, though, the Juniper Drive will be the thing to revolutionize hyperspace travel, I say-"
The trade representative to her right - a rotund ugnaught - was blathering on through a mouthful of colo claw fish and the Alliance elder nodded absently at his insistence. However, Adhira's attention was transfixed on the other side of the brightly lit room on the visage of the

, the elusive leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The fact that the CIS had moved their capital to Naboo did not make the dusky Balmorran expect the presence of the Vicelord, yet she was pleasantly surprised to finally be in the same room with the man responsible for nearly crippling the Alliance's trade economy. Her eyes lingered on his light brown skin for a moment until her gaze drew his eye. For the moment that their eyes met, she offered a polite, if not indulgent smile that spread across her purple-painted lips.

"Gentlemen," she said abruptly, bringing the conversation to close as she stood with a glass in hand, "if you will excuse me, I require a breath of fresh air." She smirked at her dinner companions before she tilted the glass into the air and downed the rest of the cool bubbly liquid. She gave the Vicelord one last, fleeting look before turning and striding between two tall marble columns and into the vibrant gardens of Theed Palace. Despite the lateness of the hour, the Nabooan moon, Veruna cast an eerie white light over the gardens as Adhira glided along the cobblestone path.
The cool, crisp air of Theed's early evening was refreshing and restorative, unfortunately doing quite a bit to kill the senator's buzz. However, as she continued along the path and detected movement, ahead of her, she was grateful for the clarity. Adhira gathered up the train of her heavy gold-embroidered gown before clasping her hands in front of her. "Your Excellency, I was not expecting to meet you here amongst the foliage," she said knowingly.
