According to Basai, her beginnings are quite humble. Born to merchants, her father passed when she was 10 years of age. Since then, she was raised by her mother and grandmother. She was caretaker to younger brother, Emir, and elderly grandmother as her mother was often occupied running a street-side food stand as a way to make a living.
She seems to place a great deal of importance on 'food and family.'
During her time in basic, Basai proved to be an eager team player -- but is timid, usually deferring to others rather than leading the charge. Marksmanship has been average, hand-to-hand combat is a challenge -- as is the confidence needed to overcome a larger, stronger opponent. Displays some signs of nervousness and anxiety, with the habit of second-guessing herself. However, when faced with medical training and exercises, she has shown great promise.

Since discovering her force-sensitivity, Basai made the decision to leave the Rangers in order to train with the Jedi. She is currently pursuing this path.
