Inara Kalantha Berenko was born during the height of the Second Great Hyperspace War, the middle child to a prominent playwright and a talented legislator. She lived a childhood best described as 'quiet aristocracy,' one that kept her constantly aware of House Berenko's fading name but never truly wanting for anything.
Young Inara was the quiet middling who found the allure of knowledge and strategy inescapable. Even as a little girl, Inara's wit and critical mind were much sharper than the rest of her class, setting her apart from her peers at the Royal House of Learning. Her unique gifts of the mind were not unnoticed, and quickly, Inara's teachers began grooming her for something much more than becoming the Matriarch of House Berenko. Her education continued at the Theed Royal Academy, where her intellect was matched by other youths with eyes on seats in Naboo's legislative body. At age nine, she joined the Apprentice Legislature, visiting the governing councils of neighboring systems and governments.
She was 12 years old when the Netherworld Cataclysm wracked Naboo, claiming with it the life of her father and much of the Berenko Estate. In the short years that followed, she immersed herself in academics. The eldest Berenko was drawn to masonry, throwing himself wholly into the reconstruction of Theed, and their baby brother seemed destined to follow father's footsteps as a playwright of the Naboolian Rennaissance.
When the season of elections finally came around, Inara's heart was set on the legislative assembly. To become a junior legislator, aiding the Queen in matters of the state, was everything she wanted. But Inara was kindly reminded of House Berenko's tradition of casting their line each generation. Like her mother, and her mother's mother, young Inara was put forth as a monarchial candidate known for her intellect, steady hand, and passion for the arts. It would be a 'ceremonial' candidacy, one she could use to increase her standing when the legislators sought their next youth member.
She never imagined taking the throne.

Hailing from Naboo and boasting a centuries-old lineage, House Berenko is an aristocratic family known for its successful poets, playwrights, and writers. Despite its slow fade from prominence in Theed, exacerbated by the Cataclysm that claimed the family's patriarch and estate, House Berenko remains a steadfast pillar in the Rennaissance enjoyed by Naboo. They are generally well-received, and are often seen as one of the more philanthropic families in the capital. The Berenkos are a deeply cultured line, and as such are known for their great contributions to the arts.

PERSONALITY
Anyone who knew Anton Berenko would see plainly that his daughter was his spitting image. She carried with her the sharpness, attention to detail, and critical deduction that made his writings so captivating. She applied them to scholarly pursuits at Naboo's premier learning institution, Theed Royal Academy. Her thirst for knowledge and decisive nature made her an excellent student, one who was willing not only to learn everything she could, but travel abroad with her class to visit neighboring systems.
As a girl, Inara was quiet, but there was no denying her innate sense for adventure. Just as much as she adored the scene of royal ceremonies and legislative assemblies, so too did she enjoy mischievous antics with her peers. This spirit of exploration, discovery, and spontaneity still resides in Inara, though she's often advised to keep them distant from her hand as the Queen.
Inara is patient and slow to anger, but she's also known to take the hardline if it means keeping Naboo and her people safe. She has seen firsthand what it takes to protect the Kingdom of Naboo, and she has learned to sacrifice in order to preserve what she stands for. It may not make her the most popular Queen, but at least there will be a Naboo left when her terms are over.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Gifted Intellect: Inara is an academic at heart and has a deep reverence for the arts and learning. Her knowledge of Naboo's government, history, and traditions makes her an excellent keystone in any conversation regarding the Royal Republic.
Talented Artist: While her older brother Paolo may have inherited their father's poetic talents, Inara is not without her own artistic abilities. She is a skilled oil painter with a focus on Naboo's natural landscapes and environments. Some of her work has been displayed in local museums and government buildings.
I'm Not Too Young to Work Here: To the Naboo, a young queen is a sign of longevity and promise, but to other cultures who conflate wisdom with age, Inara appears to be reckless and inexperienced. Though she's proven herself time after time to be an effective ruler, she still faces doubt and ridicule from unconvinced planetary representatives.
Dirty Hands in Silk Gloves: Inara is by no means a hands-off monarch, for better or worse. She's made herself known for stepping onto the front lines to help her people, an act that many view as dangerous and misguided. Inara has used her handmaidens as decoys many times to cover for her when embarking on missions for the Republic.

Following an unanticipated victory in the legislative assembly, Inara accepts the crown and becomes Queen Kalantha of Naboo. She has much to prove both to herself and to the people who entrusted their lives to her.
➣ | FACTION | Caldera Crisis [COMPLETED] - Inara's first foray in galactic politics is a trip to the Core, where she petitions the Galactic Alliance Senate for Naboo's ambassadorship and requests protection from the Mandalorian Enclave. She receives neither.
➣ | PRIVATE | Lost Horizons: A Homecoming of Dreams and Disarray [ABANDONED] - Governor Lira Virel meets with Inara to discuss a new line of starships for the Royal Naboo Navy, a much needed upgrade to prepare for possible hostilities with the Mandalorians.
➣ | PRIVATE | Bridge Building [COMPLETED] - Senator Alicio Organa of Alderaan visits Naboo after Inara's address on Coruscant. He offers to support Naboo's defenses in exchange for housing refugees displaced from the Core by the sinister Brotherhood of the Maw. With approval from the legislative assembly, the queen accepts Organa's terms.
➣ | PRIVATE | Rises the Moon [COMPLETED] - A vivid memory of the days following the Cataclysm. Inara first met Aiden Porte at a market in Theed, where he was working to help those who needed food and medicine. She was charmed by his kindness and never forgot his face.
➣ | PRIVATE | Like Shooting Stars [ABANDONED] - Inara believes that her impromptu visit from Jedi Master Jax Thio is step toward receiving long overdue aid from the GA, but she is surprised when he asks her to train as a Jedi Padawan with the NJO. Burned twice by the Alliance and unwilling to betray the tenets of Naboo's Jedi enclave, the queen declines.
➣ | PRIVATE | The Globe of Peace [ABANDONED] - With the questionable help of Jedi Master Markus Kortu, Inara leaves Theed for Gungan territory in search of the long lost Globe of Peace. This ancient relic was offered to Queen Padme Amidala Naberrie as a sign of brotherhood between Theed and Otoh Gunga. Retrieving it would be an excellent first step toward renewing their partnership.
➣ | PUBLIC | New Year Gala [COMPLETED] - Frustrated with the GA's apparent abandonment of Naboo, Inara resolves to find allies wherever she can. She hosts a New Year gala at the Royal Palace in Theed with a massive guest list. Inara spent the evening mingling with Alliance senators, Hapan nobles, and Sith Imperials alike, keeping her eyes peeled for benefactors and trusting Aiden Porte to protect her from attempts on her life.CLICK HERE TO RETURN TO TOP OF TAB➣ | FACTION | Negotiations Got Aggressive [COMPLETED] - On the day of the Royal Naboo Republic's birth, four years after the Cataclysm wracked Naboo and the CIS, another Netherworld incursion threatens Theed. ARC II: EMERGENCY POWERS
As her first term comes to a close, Kalantha finds herself bound to the throne by a Republic in a state of emergency. Dangerous waters lay ahead as the galaxy faces crusades, imperial infighting, and an age of rebellion all at once.
➣ | FACTION | Bright Tide Rising [COMPLETED] - In the aftermath of the Second Cataclysm, an emergency meeting is called in the legislative assembly. Notable figures such as Minister of Commerce Monoroco and Joran Del-Finn exchange political blows, while others like the enigmatic Mother Askani pledge their support to the crown and the people of the new Republic. Inara opens the floor for discussion and hears all sides.
➣ | SEASONAL | Festival of Stars [COMPLETED] - With the Foundation's help, Naboo has restored much of the damage caused during the Second Cataclysm. To celebrate newfound allies and the arrival of Life Day, Inara hosts an open holiday gala at her estate in the Gallo Mountains. She shares a few drinks with her friend Aiden and discusses economic avenues with Minister Joran and Nora Laan of New Cov.
➣ | PRIVATE | Truth [COMPLETED] - Aiden's sudden exit at the Life Day party concerned Inara. After giving him a few days to cool off and find himself, she arranges to meet him in Theed to figure out what's happened.
➣ | FACTION | Tying a Golden Knot [COMPLETED] - At the royal wedding of Prince Astor Daaray of Hapes, a violent assassin commits double regicide, fracturing the Hapan throne and revealing unforgivable lapses in the GA's governance. Inara and her handmaidens are evacuated with the help of Jedi Master Kahne Porte.
➣ | ARTICLE | Republic Travel Advisory: Hapes Cluster [COMPLETED] - Increasing danger in the Hapes Cluster prompts the queen and her advisors to issue a travel advisory against the region, urging Republic citizens to flee the Cluster or exercise extreme caution should they choose to remain.
➣ | CAMPAIGN | Dawn of the Plasma Wars [COMPLETED] - The Mandalorian threat returned, emerging in the form of the Neo-Crusaders who launch a raid against Theed in an effort to pillage precious plasma reserves from the capital refinery. Using a handmaiden to cover her in the situation room, Inara teams up with her longtime friend Aiden to head off the Crusaders in the refinery and save as much plasma as possible.
➣ | FACTION | Restoring the Balance [ONGONG] - The Foundation has come to Naboo's aid after the onset of the Plasma Wars. While the Jedi Council convenes in the Gallo Mountains, the queen and a new friend, Jedi archivist Echo Athoth, take to the streets of Theed.
➣ | PRIVATE | Return to Sender [ONGOING] - Alicio Organa, now the Chancellor of the Galactic Alliance, arrives on Naboo to discuss the matter of the GA's refugees and their choice between repatriation to the Core or naturalization.
➣ | PRIVATE | Aggressive Negotiations [ONGOING] - Inara and her newest Queensguard, Thayze Montserrat, travel to Enarc to assist the planet's senator-elect unravel a plot against his life.
➣ | SKIRMISH | Fire and Blood [ONGOING] - Despite their efforts on Enarc, the coup against Viceroy Eharl Sarn escalates. In the shadows, CIS loyalists have struck an unforgivable bargain with the Sith Ascendants, resulting in the planting of a Seed of Rage on Enarc. Using the chaos as their vector, the SAO launches an attack on a Republic academy.
➣ | ARTICLE | Royal Correspondance: The Confederacy, Pt. 1 [COMPLETED] - Inara writes a letter to President Vemric Keldra, thanking him for his support of Naboo and offering an invitation to a diplomatic summit in Theed.
