Strengths:

• Shard Containment - Hidden beneath a substantially thicker piece of armor in the chest is a compartment that is capable of receiving a Shard that can take control of the Footman Battledroid and utilize it as its own body.

Weaknesses:

• Magnetic / Ion - While capable of repairing damage to their forms, the Footman Battledroid can easily be overcome with the proper application of a magnetic field (to overpower and wipe its computer systems) or by repeated strikes from any Ion Based weaponry; which will shut the droid down completely.

• Personality Matrix - While the Footman Battledroids do contain a slot in which a shard can assume control of the droid, it must be noted that this process is not without its own problems. Those few Shards that have bonded and later been retrieved from these droids have mentioned that the longer and more prolonged time they spent in the droid, the more they began to forget themselves (losing any sense of self beyond the overbearing drive to fight).

DESCRIPTION

Cultures and Societies often create beings in their own image, be they children, clones, or droids depends upon the society. For one in which they must utilize droids to move beyond their stationary existence, the Shard have developed a form specifically for combat and the protection of their expansive colonies. These droids are designed for one thing only, WAR.

The Footman Battledroid is the most common, mass-produced and cheaply done so by their own standards. While many droids are susceptible to Ion fire, oddly enough it would appear that the Footman Droids are more susceptible to Ion Discharge as well as Magnetic fields (which can scramble and erase the droid's programming and other important functions). Likewise any such Ion damage sustained by the droid is felt by the shard that may be controlling the construct.
