  • Sensor Stealth
  • Slicer Programming
Detailed Special Features:
  • Sensor Stealth: The Infiltrator Scarab is designed to get around security and hide from sensors.
  • Slicer Programming: When released the Infiltrator Scarab attaches itself inside an existing maintenance droid and slices it in an attempt to gain access to things like schematics, technical readouts, access codes, and the like.
Strengths:
  • Stealth: The Infiltrator Scarab is able to evade most forms of sensor or scanner detection if it is careful, however it is not undetectable or invisible.
  • Slicer Droid: The Infiltrator is a tiny slicer droid that can operate from within other droids, walls, and access panels.
  • Tamper Resistant: The scarab features a tiny explosive, just enough to disintegrate itself if its disabled or caught.
Weaknesses:
  • Limited Range: The Infiltrator Scarab only has about 24 hour battery life.
  • Data Dump: Unfortunately, the Infiltrator Scarab only has a memory dump, but no way to transmit it on its own.
DESCRIPTION
The Infiltrator Scarabs are small, roughly the size of a dime when flattened out, able to shift their shape to a degree, such as rolling themselves into balls, tubes, or flattening themselves into circles. These droids are simplistic in nature, basically severely scaled down espionage droids designed to infiltrate military bases and ships with the intent to gain access to schematics, technical readouts, access codes and whatever else it is able to gain access too.

Often, once released the scarabs will slip inside the chassis of maintenance droids, mouse droids, or other often overlooked droids that are supposed to be at the location and quietly cover up their existence by adding temporary lines of code that include their goals as part of their hosts standard operating procedure which will be erased once the scarab unplugs itself from the droid. They will then use appropriate access panels as subtly as possible to download technical data to their own memory banks to take back to their handlers.

Sometimes, they will enter the walls and wiring of a base or starship to gain access to door controls, security measures, and the like in advance of a team of infiltrators. The Scarabs do not need much time to claw their way in, and can create security camera recording loops to play while other forces gain entry to the facility or ship, open and close doors, disable security shielding and other defensive measures.

One of the downsides to the Infiltrator Scarabs is that they have a limited battery life, only lasting twenty four hours before they are rendered inert. Another is that they lack a means of ranged communication, meaning that anything they are able gain access to must be either brought back to a handler on or near their location or transmitted across channels the scarab is able to gain access to on the enemy location. One of these means there must be a nearby agent controlling them, the other means there is a high probability the enemy will be able to discover what was discovered and where the data package was sent, as well as increasing the likelihood of jamming the communication transmission.
