Anyone know what this game is, anyone play it? I do. It's unique and different to any other game. The cyber world exists within the real world. Parallel so to speak. You see it on your handheld device, usually a smart phone and you hack portals, destroy, capture, build links etc etc etc. You actually have to physically be at the location to play it. The Ingess universe also has books and even a comic. It revolves around agents and a secret war to control the world, exotic matter, the Niantic Project, pretty cool stuff.

I have played it on and off for a couple of years. When I have enough time, it is a great way/reason to get out and see things.

Just downloaded the app when the site went down and was bored last night. Seems pretty neat, not sure what exactly I do.

Find portals and hack to get weapons, resonators and mods. Destroy enemy portals and capture them. You'll find at the early levels that it's hard. But don't be disheartened over it. You can level up fast in the early stages. Once you are level 8, you'll have max power even though it goes to level 16. You'll also be able to gain more AP faster as you reach the higher levels. Btw if you see any white portals, they're unclaimed and an easy catch. Very important for starters that don't yet have the firepower to virtually destroy any portal of reasonable strength. Once you get the hang of it, you can then link portals together, create triangles and mind fields etc but you'll need to keep your portal keys for that. It's all fun once you've learnt and understood how to play the game.

I remember I used to be play that game! It was actually really fun, though frustrating at time. One of the only reasons I stopped was because it took up too much space on my phone. I used to ride my bike down a bike trail into town near my house and be like "You get captured and you get captured and you get..."
I do still Geocache when I get the chance though.
