Description: Internal security and the gathering of intelligence for the purpose of making all internal and external operations of the Zweihander Union run smoothly is the job accredited to the many agents and operatives which fall under the control and oversight of the Intelligence and Security Bureau. Under the guidance of its secretary, the ISB just like its long lost namesake during the ages of the galactic empire operates in many layers of the Zweihander Union. They act as the overseers of any classified intelligence, they screen the conduct of both high and low ranking members within the Union, be they part of the Interior, Exterior or Ulterior branches of the Zweihander Union. Operating with near impunity, the ISB can be seen as the shadow of the Chancellors of the Left and the Right, acting with near impunity for the welfare and the stability of the Union.

Membership: The ISB works closely with its counterpart the Exterior which consists of propaganda, Recruitment and Indoctrination. The Exterior recruits members for the ZU throughout many planets within the galaxy. These members are then processed through a databank and divided into which branch they apply for. Recruits can not apply for the ISB, but instead the ISB selects members who are the most loyal and or have the traits and qualities that the ISB values. The Intelligence division then runs long detailed searches on the recruit’s history, their family’s history and any friend’s history. Once they’ve been checked out, the recruit must pass a strict entrance exam to enter the organization. The exam differs on what role the recruit will be performing.
Divisions of Intelligence & Security Bureau [ISB]:
- Intelligence - The Intelligence division is the most straightforward part of the ISB. It consists mainly of Analysts with several varying competencies and capacity, ranging from bookkeepers, office clerks to fully fledged slicers and profilers.
- Secret Police - The Secret Police is the strong arm of the ISB, they use the information available to them through their connections with the Intelligence division to monitor the internal state of affairs and act accordingly when the welfare and stability of the Union may be threatened by internal issues or citizens of the Union itself. However, when these threats are of high ranking nature I.E. High ranking military personnel or active operatives within the ISB itself, they’ll hand over those cases to Internal Affairs.
- Internal Affairs - The Internal Affairs division consists mainly of senior members of both the Intelligence division and the Secret Police, with either extreme talent or at the very least five years of active service. To become a member of the Internal Affairs division is to lie to everyone and to act completely in the shadows. This division handles threats from inside the union coming from high ranking members of society or even the military. Meaning they must be skilled and capable enough to surprise, investigate and analyse the behavior of high ranking personnel without anyone or anything catching up to this, thus alluding to the skill of the operatives within this division.
- Department of Advanced Weapons Research - The Department of Advanced Weapons Research is dedicated to making sure that the Zweihander Union is at the forefront of weapon technology. It is mostly full of engineers and the support staff needed to run the many projects that are in progress at any one time.
Climate: Certain parts of the ISB are friendlier than others. The more clandestine parts are cut throat while the office workers that make up much of the analytics and such have a more day to day office vibe. Field agents and members of the secret police are typically more unfriendlier than members of Internal Affairs and Intelligence.
Reputation: Mixed, There are many conspiracy theories about what the ISB is up to and most of them are not nice however they do protect the Zweihander Union. The secret police is one of the most despised groups within the ISB because of their database of intel on fellow ISB agents. They know all and see all. Masters of infiltration, other members of the ISB distrust the secret police agents. Outside of the Zweihander Union, the ISB is not well-known. Agents are not typically seen outside of ZU territory, and those that are, are out performing covert ops. Because of the immense diversity within the ISB, the ISB has a checkered image. The brutality of the secret police is notorious within the ISB but the relatively niceness of intelligence agents is a counterpart.
Curios: Similar to members of other branches within the Zweihander Union, ISB personnel wear a unique uniform denoting their branch. The typical uniform of the ISB is white with black trousers. A black officer’s hat, similar to a navy officer, may be worn on the head. A standard rank plaque is fixed on the right breast. Rank plaques may vary due to each respective rank. Operatives of the secret police wear an all black uniform with the same plaque structure and cap. An officer’s pistol may be fastened on the right thigh. Field agents however, may wear any style of clothing to “fit in” with their environment, or to impersonate to gain access to a building or target. When on a ISB or ZU installation, field agents may wear the uniform of their division. Chiefs and the Secretary may wear purple uniforms denoting their managerial or command status. These uniforms are similar in appearance to the uniforms typically worn by the chancellors themselves. When off duty or outside ISB installations, ISB agents are free to wear any clothing they wish, provided it does not draw attention to themselves. Alongside the uniform, all members of the ISB are given code cylinders
Rules: Like most intelligence agencies across the galaxy, the ISB is the most secretive branch of the Zweihander Union, and as such it’s member base follow more stricter rules than the other branches. All of the ISB members from the lowly agent to the secretary herself must follow all rules, although higher ranked members have been known to follow these rules more loosely. Members of the ISB are not permitted to reveal information regarding their work, other’s work, or personnel within the ISB to their friends, family, or anyone outside of the ISB. Members of the ISB whether a field agent or analyst must operate in complete secrecy. As such they may not be able to contact anyone outside of the ISB for long periods of time. This is especially true for field agents who are held to stricter standards than normal analysts. Members of the ISB are more closely monitored than other operatives of the Zweihander Union due to their access to sensitive material. Punishments are also more severe for ISB operatives that disobey their superiors or fail to follow the rules. A personnel of the ISB may not visit cantinas outside of ISB installations. They may also not attend large social gatherings of non-ISB personnel. This is to limit their contact with potential hostiles and to closely monitor them.
Goals: Locate threats to the Zweihander Union, whether foreign or domestic and eliminate those threats.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Tranquility
was tasked with developing the Intelligence and Security Bureau of the Zweihander Union. She took this seriously and used her experience from her other copy of herself as Serenity and head of the former Republics Intelligence agency to quickly form the framework for the organization. Modeled after the late Galactic Empire’s ISB, the ZU’s ISB is made up of many former Directorate security personnel who left the faction. The Interior is personally overseen by chancellor of the right,
Jarred Ketzloff
who placed
Tranquility
as his right hand and supervisor of the entire Intelligence and Security Bureau. The ISB’s HQ is currently located on Schesa where most of the Zweihander Union is located. However, there are many ISB installations across the galaxy whether in small cities, large cities, or in the rural countryside.
