Interruption at Lake Country

Marcus’ hand was pulling the hyperdrive levee back to exit the hyperspace. The viewpoint was filled with stars and a beautiful green and blue planet. Seizing the control of his shuttle, he maneuvered it to an entry into Naboo. A planet controller hailed him so he gave them the ship identify then receive a land spot near his destination. It took him in least thirty minutes to get his ship touch down. Pressing the button, he activated the ship security system then he arose from the chair to walk out of the ship. He reached the exit of the ship, wrapped himself in the customary Jedi brown robe as he was startled at the beauty of the Naboo. A noise had brought him back to the reality as he looked at the man. “I assume that my transport is ready for me?” He asked in friendly voice. Receiving a positive response, he nodded his head as he extended his hand in a gesture to let the man lead him to the transport. He followed the man while looked back at the shuttle, hoping that he did not get in trouble with Jedi Order for this “leave”. There was no rule for Padawan to leave and go, but there was unwritten one. He hoped that nobody will notice that he was gone.

Reaching the place where the man holds a speeder for him, Marcus was inspecting the speeder and the basket it contain. His green hues were checking if there is any flaw in it and he had everything he need for a few hours to a night out there. Nodding his head in satisfaction, he turned around to the man with a smile. “Thank you and here is your payment. I shall return soon hopefully.” He extended his hand at the man to drop a credit then shook his hand. After this business was done, he climbed on the speeder and took off. Toward the destination, he was wondering why he kept see this place when he was in meditation.

Reaching the beautiful beach in Lake Country, he pressed his right foot on the brake on his speeder. “What a truly beautiful place…” He spoke to himself as he was watching the beauty unfold out. Climbing off his speeder, he picked the basket and walked just few yards away. Placing the basket down, his hand entered the basket to pick an apple. Then he walked to the edge of the beach where sands and waters meet each other as his eyes were transfixed at the waterfall. He brought the apple to his mouth to take a bite of it.

Naboo was a very beautiful planet, and a very painful one for Katarine Ryiah. She was currently at the Lake Country of all places, sitting on the sandy shores that had once been premarital bliss. That life seemed like ages ago and while her deep green eyes gazed at the sea she pondered how much time changed everything.

She was no longer the Jedi Master she once had been. These days it was difficult telling what she was. A refuge mostly, trying to figure her plae in this galaxy. She'd traded in her pirate for a non absentee mercenary and her Jedi robes for the tight black flight pants and jacket she had on currently. Her lightsaber was hidden in her boot and a blaster hung at her side. She looked nothing like the Jedi she hd once been. Maybe she never would again.

She was sitting, midnign her own business when she noticed a man lay a basket down and scoop out an apple. She smirekd to herself. Katarine had been a teacher of many students in her time and she knew playing hookey when she saw it.

"I thought padawans were not allowed to leave on their own?" She asked, though she was not looking at him. She merely gazed on at the sea, a small twinkle in her eye.

Marcus was so startling when there was a female voice interrupts his peaceful moment. Left the apple between his teeth, he spun to the direction where the voice came from with a blaster in his hand. Pointing it at her, he narrowed his eyes at the figure careful. It seemed that she know that he is Padawan and that he sneaked off the Academy. So he had to be careful with her.

Moving his free hand to the apple, he tore a piece of it in his mouth while he pulled the apple away from his mouth. His blaster was still pointing at her while he chewed the piece. He was stalling for a time while he is figuring out the problem. Swallowing the small pieces, he cleared his throat at the female. “Get your blaster out with your left thumb and index finger only. And put it on the ground, slowly.” He glared at her while he used his finger to ensure that his blaster is on stun. “I promise you that I will not hurt you if you comply with me. I will just ask few questions to ensure you are not a threat. So, please… do what I say.” He flashed her friendly smile but it was forced. He was little nervous because he was not sure if she is a bounty hunter who look to make easy mark on Padawans. Or one of those Empire thugs.

The Jedi certainly had change since her time with them. But then again these days there were so many different groups of Jedi who could know what they taught thier students? She had certainly never taught any of hers to be so jumpy, but then again the galaxy was different. Desperate times and all of that.

She was still watching the sea when finally she turned her head to glance sideways at him, one eyebrow raised. "If I wanted to hurt you I would have already." It wouldn't have been diffiuclt. Hide it though she might Katarine was a master of the Force. She could string this padawan upside down by his boot straps for the fun of it. She had probably spooked him with the knowledge he was a padawan. Not easily known, except to those who spent a lifetime teaching them.

"If you insist." She did as he asked and sat the blaster on the ground beside her. She watched him for another moment and turned her head back to the water. "Very well. I am unarmed. What do you plan to do with me now?" She was curious on exactl how far he had thought this through. Had he been one of her students she probably would have suggested a different approach but as it were Katarine was enjoying herself.

Hehehe, I'm sure my name is not Markus. ;) Just pulling your leg.

Marcus was on his guard while she spoke to him. He could not believe that she seemed fine with a blaster pointed at her. A relief was washing all over him as she complied with his request. Moving closer to the young lady, he used his foot to kick the blaster as far as he can so it will be away from her. Taking a deep breath, his green hues were glaring at the pretty woman when he heard her comment. “I have a feeling that you are not entire unarmed. Otherwise, you would not be so casual with a blaster point at you. I know I would not be.” He brought the apple to get another bite from it while he was wondering what he should do next. Her face seemed to tell that she is innocent, but her eyes were telling him otherwise. It was basically scream that she is dangerous. Chewing the piece thoroughly, he hated to be powerless even if he is the one who hold the blaster.

“Ugh, why do I have a bad feeling that I am the one who overstep my boundary?” He mumbled to himself as he cleared his throat once again. Keeping his blaster at her, his eyes were scanning her body for any type of weapons that she is hiding. He was unable to discover any weapons and he did err to cautious to not pat her body. He had a feeling that she would surprise him if he got closer enough. “Well, who are you? And why do you think I am Padawan? Should Padawan have a sword weapon…? What do they called it?” His mouth was frown down a bit as he pretended to focus in his thought. Then it cleared up. “Oh, yes. They called it lightsaber? You could see that I don’t have lightsaber but a blaster.” He smiled at the woman as he was filling himself with glee at his own clever. Trying to open himself to the Force to guide him, he found that he was unable to form a connection. It seemed that his nervousness and doubt were clouding his thought which causes him unable to access the Force.

She continued to sit there while he chewed his apple and mentioned that he thought she might be armed still. He wasn't wrong, though Kat had no intentions of using her lightsaber on the boy.

“Ugh, why do I have a bad feeling that I am the one who overstep my boundary?”

He spoke and she glanced sideways at him. "Trust your feelings, especially those ones. I think they are leading you in the right direction."

He went a full step further by pretending to be ignorant of a lightsaber. She frowned. Perhaps she had made a mistake? She had only guessed he was a padawan afterall. He felt like one in the Force. He felt a little stronger than most people but perhaps she had made a mistake? Though he had freaked out... but then again who wouldn't if some crazy lady was calling them names?

"I may have made a mistake. You looked like a padawan to me." She shrugged and turned her head to look at him sincerely. "I am sorry." She meant it, especially because she had not meant to scare him.

"Do you mind if I get up? I've been sitting a long time." She didn't want to move and have him shoot.

(Fireworks exploded in the sky above your head.) Congratulation, you won a prize. :p

Marcus sighed softly when he heard her words. He was wondering if she was manipulating him. Maybe her body language was cloud his thought, or could she have abilities in the Force to cloud his thought. But he could not continue his thought when she spoke to him once again. Raising his eyebrow at her, he was not sure if she was playing along with his lie. But he could sense that she was feeling truly remorse toward him. Remorse for what, he was wondering till she asked if she could stand up. His mind became blank as he was feeling worse for force her to remain in sit position. Taking a deep breath, he reached his decision by thrust his blaster into its holster.

After he secured his gun, he moved his hand forward toward her. His palm was complete open to show her that he meant no harm. Of course, it was empty offer because he still felt that she is more dangerous to him than he was to her. “Ma’am, you have no reason to give me any form of apologize. It should be me offer you my sincere apology for two things. It was wrong for me to threaten you and for gave you a lie. Of course, you can stand up.” He waved his hand a bit to let her know that he would be happy to help her get herself off the ground.

She took his hand and let him help her up then smiled at him. "Next time I suggest leading with that. Even if someone is dangerous you can slow a situation down and give yourself time to plan by just being polite. Not to mention it's just good to have manners." She winked at him and stepped around him, stretching as she did so. She had been sitting for a long time.

"So you are having a picnic? It's a good day for it."

Raising his eyebrow at the stranger, he was watching her stretch her body while he was thinking about her comment toward his manner. He knew that she was right about that so he decided to introduce himself to make up to it. With his decision in his mind, he heard her off comment about have a picnic which caused him to have a big smile on his face. Maybe he could bribe her to forget the past.

Walking forward to her, he took her hand and brought it to his lips. But he halted it so he can speak to her. “You are right; I should be very mind of my manner. I’m Padwan Marcus from the Jedi Order.” He pressed his lips against her knuckles while his green hues were still staring at her face for any clue like expression. Removing his lips from it, he released her hand. “And I would love to have your company for my picnic. And yes, ma’am… I am bribing you to forget our initial encounter.” He flashed her devious smirk as he walked toward the basket. Picking the basket, he walked back to where she is. “Shall we?”

Katarine felt her stomach turn a little at the way things were panning out but at least they didn't seem to be enemies anymore. "Water under an old bridge." She wasn't one to hold a grudge, or at least not for such a small thing.

"So you are a Jedi? That must be interesting work." She motioned for him to set his picnic up anywhere he wanted.

"Let's sit here." Marcus waved the spot with his hand. Then he walked to the spot and took a seat on the grass. Opening the picnic, he was digging the foods out for her. He reached to grab an fresh apple and tossed it to her. "Hope you don't mind snacks. I did not really pack for a picnic. Just small snacks and drink." He chuckled softly as he looked at her with a smile. "Pardon my terrible food choices."

Her question was causing him to think his answer. "To be honest, I have not give it any thought. Being a Jedi is very odd for me. They seemed to be friendly but how can they trust me when I don't remember who I am. I could be a monster or something else but they opened their arms for me and welcomed me to their Academy." Shaking his head, he took a deep breath. "You know what, I am being little silly. Why don't you tell me anything about yourself? I bet your life is more fun than mine."

Katarine took a seat. "Not at all. " She hadn't came for a picnic afterall. She was doing other things.

"There isn't much to say about me. I felt like a walk today so I headed out to see what the planet had to offer. Are you enjoying being a padawan?"
