DESCRIPTION
The Intrepid-type Ablative Armor was created with Impervium-type plating along with a liquid to solid state dispenser. The dispenser is able to produce/create a secondary armor that fills and seals the plating together forming a physical shell around the vessel in a matter of seconds. The shell is then able to withstand most kinetic attacks and absorb a lot of energy damage, unfortunately. While the shell is able to do so much it can only do so within a thirty second time frame.
After that thirty second time frame the shell will become fragile and lose its hardness. This makes it vulnerable to any attack and thus shatters. The physical plating that is left behind becomes damaged and requires repairs at the end of the engagement. It is recommended to utilize the Intrepid-type Ablative Armor only in as a last resort.
The heuristic processing enables the defensive technicians to track hull damage through its sensors. Allowing data to be collected - the data can be used to assist the technicians when looking for general hull vulnerabilities such as weak points.
Updated: Reworked with new materials, adjusted strengths and weaknesses to reflect materials.

SPECIAL FEATURES
Able to withstand kinetic attacks
Able to withstand energy attacks
Tracks damage and records with heuristic processing
Impervium-infused plating
Embedded sensors to detect hull damage
Able to be deployed automatically
Strengths:
Damage: Able to withstand a great deal of damage
Weaknesses:
Time Sensitive: Once deployed/activated it lasts approximately thirty seconds
One-Time Use: Can only be used once in battle, after it's been used it will shattered as it withstands enough damage to let a ship escape from a fierce battle/prolonged engagement.
