Corran Watts
Knight Errant
Sweat began to form on his brow as he stepped onto the planet of Voss for the first time. Tythos, his snow wolf companion, was panting heavily at his side. Corran placed his hand gently on the back of Tythos neck and gently ran it along his thick white fur. He knew the wolf was going to have to get used to the planets temperature. For years they had lived in the snowy mountains of Kabaira and while the weather here was much like that of his home planet of Coruscant, it was going to take some getting used to.
Quickly he removed the outer coat he was wearing that was lined with fur and he stuffed it into the pack he carried on his shoulder. He traveled light, a few survival necessities such as water, a sleeping bag which was strapped to the bottom of his bag, and on his belt he wore the weapon his father had helped him forge. It was a beautiful durasteel weapon with a blue energy crystal crafted into the hilt. A black pommel was fitted perfectly for his hand and though the sword was larger it was lightweight and easy to wield.
"Off we go, boy." Corran said happily to Tythos as he began the journey. The temple was not that far of a walk from the spaceport but he was unsure of how it was going to go. Thurion Heavenshield, that was who his father had told him to seek out. He was supposedly a powerful wielder of the force who could teach Corran things that Ben Watts could not. He had been inside his fathers mind, he knew that at one time he had wielded great power, but in his old age he had lost much of that and was unable to teach Corran properly.
The revelation at who his father had been was still a sore spot for Corran. On the one hand he was happy to finally have met him and also quite proud to be the offspring of a former Jedi Grandmaster, but at the same time, why had he left him for so long? He claimed to care deeply for Corran and yet he abandoned him twice now. He was sure he had reasons, the weight that was on his shoulders.... Corran had felt it.... but he still could not help but feel lonely and abandoned.
Lost in his thoughts he was snapped back to as the temple on Voss came into view. It stopped him in his tracks and he was in awe at the beauty of it. He vaguely remembered Coruscant before it had been wrecked by the One Sith army , but he could not recall anything being as beautiful or welcoming. For a few moments he stood, staring, at the temple before he continued his journey.
Sweaty, tired, and still unaccustomed to the heat of the planet he reached the entrance of the temple and he let his pack slide off his shoulder. He could feel the energy radiating from the structure and he reached out and gently touched the doors leading inside. Tythos sniffed around the area seemingly exploring and trying to decide if he was happy with what was going to be his new home. He was sure the two looked quite out of place. Tythos was a large animal, snowy white, with dark red eyes. He was a caring animal and looked more intimidating than he really was.
"Do we knock?" Corran said to Tythos with a grin but before he could respond the doors opened on their own and Corran stood still letting them open. An older woman came shuffling out the door, a species he was not familiar with, and she had a curious look on her face.
"What is your business with the Voss Academy?"
Corran stood stupidly for a moment before he spoke rather meekly. "I, uhh... I was told to seek out Thurion Heavenshield?"
She glanced at him curiously before motioning for him to follow and by the time he was inside, she was gone, and he was left standing in a rather large atrium by himself.
