Invasion Buddies!

Last month I created a thread in preparation for the release of the new movie. Tips for Helping New Members. Now that the movie is upon us and new members are flocking to the forums, it's time for me to revisit that thread and magnify upon some of the ideas there in. Thusly,


It's Invasion Buddy Time!

So here we go,

• Q: What is an Invasion Buddy?
• A: Somebody who partners with a new member, (usually a veteran,) to jam out with them for their first Invasion(s). Usually from the same faction or of similar participation.

• Q: Why?
• A: To help moderate their writing, their emotions, and their feelings about writing in a more competitive environment. To give the new member somebody to talk to when they are feeling overjoyed with their first victory or when they are feeling frustrated with their first loss.

• Q: How does it work?
• A: Easy. Invasions are semi-sorta competitions fought between Factions as they fight over worlds and territory on the Galaxy Map. So before an Invasion starts? You simply find somebody to partner with who can join you IC in that Invasion. Somebody who can share in your battle adventure and give you instant feedback about your situation. Or just save your butt when things go BOOM. Lol.

Perhaps if invasions didn't taste like sour milk, but I applaud your enthusiasm for helping new members. I do enjoy reading your 'how-to' guides.

I respect that a ton. In fact, it's opinions like yours that made such an idea a priority in my mind. And I hope that with Invasion Buddies coming along for the ride that many of these 'sour milk' moments can be avoided or squashed out right. Helping newer members find enjoyment, and the sorrow, during the fictional conflicts of our universe is half the fun of fighting.
