Tying in with all the talk of map resets or no is the consideration of changing existing things like the Invasion system.
These are my latest thoughts.
Since the current invasion rules seem to be the majority consensus, there is another alternative, building on what [member="Fatty"] wrote in the other thread.
Two changes to the Invasion rules which could deliver big dividends in making the map more mobile again.
What does this do? On the one hand it makes invasions quicker. The reason so many turn into draws is that they drag on, people lose interest and if there’s a victory, it’s by default. This adds urgency to invasions, with the result that they happen quicker whilst people are interested.
However, if things are going well, both sides can extend it in renewable blocks if desired.
Taking whole hexes gives greater reward and incentive. This is also more like what we see in both Star Wars and reality. A big victory over the enemy opens lots of territory to be overrun afterwards.

- Time limits on Invasions of 72 hours – start time negotiated by both sides to make sure everyone can get the best of their members. This 72 hours can be extended in 72 hour blocks by the consent of both factions.
- Invasions take entire hexes, the exception being capitals which must be the target of the invasion for that hex.
