Invasion of Manann

I heard through an alt that the OS are planning an Invasion of the planet Manann(spell check)

I don't know what the admins are doing on this side but I wanted to get it out there in case others weren't aware.

Well guys and girls. It begins again.

M A N A A N

TERMS
No allies - This means that writers participating in the invasion of Manaan must belong to either The One Sith faction, or The Galactic Republic faction. (ie. The Republic cannot contract sign-ups from The Protectorate and visa versa).
One character per writer - That spans for both factions. If someone is writing as a Sith, they are writing as a member of the One Sith for the invasion of Manaan.
Fleet Size Limited between 500-8000m total
• Giant Beast Restrictions - Limit giant beasts to two, and to mandate a five-post-deployment for them on-planet so they don't just insta-appear.
These beasts have Locations / Objectives / etc titled for organizational purposes within the character posts (or separate, as per writer's choice)
Failure to comply with the above regulations means forfeiture of the right to use the creature in battle.
3 Week Time Limit - The Invasion will end 3 weeks from the start date and a victor will be determined at this time.
OBJECTIVES

1. REPUBLIC GROUND OBJECTIVE: Keep Manaan Afloat. Protect Hyper-Buoyancy Generator in Ahto City (center).
ONE SITH GROUND OBJECTIVE: Hit the generators that keep Ahto City above water.
2. REPUBLIC GROUND OBJECTIVE: Protect Hrakert Rift (Source of Kolto -- used for healing aid / relief during the war)
ONE SITH GROUND OBJECTIVE: Rob / Destroy source of Kolto
3. REPUBLIC FLEET OBJECTIVE: Force opposing command vessel to retreat, prevent atmospheric invasion of enemy forces.
ONE SITH FLEET OBJECTIVE: Force Republic Command Ship to retreat.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (Mostly Regarding Fleets)
This is a surprise invasion, where the One Sith fleets will drop out of hyperspace on the unsuspecting Manaan. A Republic Fleet (limited) is currently stationed above the planet due to an ongoing festival to celebrate the planet’s ability — The Festival of Escalation or something — to rebuilt itself after a disaster. After the One Sith fleet engages the currently stationed Republic fleet, there will have to be a time period of 4 OOC days (from the start of the invasion) before Republic reinforcements arrive.

---what I've seen so far from their side.

Those proposed terms entirely favour the One Sith.

The Republic would be foolish not to negotiate these terms to a more reasonable level.

The terms were proposed by the Republic Admins actually.

One Sith accepted all but one.

This is the final negotiation all have agreed to.

Just to clarify, it is my understanding that is there is one point that has yet to be confirmed (based on the fact I'm looking at the PM from the OS asking for the clarification) - so no Invasion has started yet, has it?

If I'm wrong, please point me in the right direction.

Once it has been agreed, we will let everyone know in the appropriate way what has been agreed and how we plan to approach this.

Many thanks...

The invasion has not posted yet, but the terms have been agreed to. (Check page 2)

One Sith sent our agreement in there after Kiskla asked to confirm.

Which is why the Sith are already preparing for posting up the invasion.

In what universe is it considered wise to entirely give up allies, limit the fleets so, and just give them cart blanche with the OS' stable of monsters?

The point of negotiations is to put forward more than what the other guys will accept and deal down to a compromise.

This will not end well....

I also just found out the Sith are bringing their ridiculously OP Immortal ship to the fight. You know, that vessel that broke all the weapon limit rules so that it was not only amazing in defense but superb in offense as well. Yeah, that one. They won't even need a fleet to blow ours out of the sky. So now we have leviathans that we don't really have a good way of defending against, and an immortal which can take a fleet on by itself....

This isn't even going to be a battle as much a bloodbath for the Republic unless something is done real quick to nerf those guys.

Republic Admins have been in negotiation for this invasion since before November.

We are well aware of all these things.

OS has put a huge amount of development into the things they are fielding. It is unfair of us to tell them they can't use what they've worked for just because we don't have something to pair against it/them. This is the reality of the situation and whining like children won't change anything.

IC reactions to IC findings.

Learning icly about what the OS field is a way to end up working towards technology to counter the OS. Whatever they toss at you, use the ic information found to attempt to find something to go against it.

It is much the same way as OS uses every ic interaction to try and find a way to counter other technology used against them ( Baffor pollen)

Don't look down at the tech you already have, like the Watts class ship. Get your fleeters together and work something out.

Just write to have fun and enjoy the development and story of your character.

Don't worry so much about winning or losing.

lol The ship breaks factory weapon rules. It is doesn't have any meaningful weaknesses as compared to its advantages. The ship is amazing in both defense and offense. It shouldn't have mattered if they put a thousand posts into it if they can't abide by the rules. *Shrugs*

I have also heard their Leviathans referred to point blank by many as superweapons. Another thing not allowed. But they are skirting by that rule because the thing is alive. It's not whining to call out something that blatantly breaks tons of rules and general fair play.

But hey, if you don't care we are about to be slaughtered by things that should never have been allowed in the first place, well then say la vie. Enjoy oblivion. :p Was just trying to give a warning so we could maybe make some attempt to prepare.

I tried to help the Republic once with tech. My offer was turned down. I was told the Republic didn't need outside help. Otherwise, great suggestion. Honestly.

If the ship or the worm becomes an issue, they will get reported when it is used in an RP.

The ship does not break any rules, it simply out scales previous weapon charts(Which no longer exist) and would not have been approved if it did break the rules. If it becomes a superb issue, the ship will get reported and staff will handle it.

The worm is similar. it was worked for, there are rules established around it, it has weaknesses, and it was ultimately approved by a CJ and the Codex Admin. It breaks no rules. if it becomes an issue someone will report it after it is RP'd and staff will handle it.

The same goes for anything else, created or used on this board.

Enjoy the invasion. Write your character. Have fun. Don't worry about losing.
