Invasion Results

owing will be considered when judging an Invasion.
Teamwork: The Dominion did a good job in coordinating the defense of their territory in both preparation and execution. Particularly of note was their coordination with their Silver Jedi allies in the detection of the emerging threats, as well as the squad level efforts of ground military forces. While the Resurgent Empire also had a vast number of allies assisting their efforts, they all appeared to be a collective of individual stories rather than a group of stories than intertwined and played off each other. Both sides were satisfactory in responding to each other in a timely manner, with any complaints handled at the lowest level possible. However, the Resurgent Empire did appear to make a greater effort to collaborate than their opponents in character. Both factions did so admirably in the OOC, but it is the IC that made the difference here. In the grand scheme of things, there was a lot of canceling out here that make neither faction a clear winner. Draw.

Story: It was difficult to discern a central storyline on either side of the invasion. Dominion allies (SJO) had sufficient motive to aid them in their defense of the Sith, though throughout the invasion it was near impossible to locate a relationship having existed between many of the allies of the Resurgent Empire (Galactic Empire, Mando’ade), though sufficient motive does exist. In general, however, throughout the duration of the invasion, the Resurgent Empire wrote superior stories in terms of quality and uniqueness, with the Dominion’s failing to match them. Resurgent Empire victory.

OOC Drama: Continuing the board’s streak in the decline of drama in PvP scenarios, both factions composed themselves well, with minimal drama visible or appearing to bleed into the roleplay. However, of particular note was the Dominion’s sporting attitude as a whole, maintaining a general aura of positivity and cooperation despite having previously lost two consecutive rebellions/invasions. Dominion victory.

Entertainment: The most prominent aspect of the invasion was the fleeting, in which it was obvious the Dominion held the high ground on the defense with overwhelming numbers. This in combination with their efforts on the ground fails to overshadow the writing from the Resurgent Empire, with the depth of their story providing better entertainment value. Of particular note was Yidhra’s fleet above Kushibah, in which the Imumowija was ordered to sacrifice itself for the success of their military efforts, which boasted remarkable dialogue and conveyed the author’s intent perfectly. Another noteworthy plot took place on Serenno where the Resurgent Empire and their allies parlayed in an effort to sway the nobility’s support in their direction, a refreshing break from the traditional combat-based RP that more commonly takes place in invasions. It was a prime example of how territory can be won by political intrigue rather than through military might. Resurgent Empire victory.

Effort: The effort of all participants is commendable. Writers were prompt in responding and no one skipped over opponents without surpassing the advised 24 hour time limit. The effort of the factions as a whole, however, is where the differences lie. The members of the Resurgent Empire were more diverse in the setting of their roleplay than the Dominion counterparts were. The offense tackled the invasion from all sides, including various settings and types of roleplay (i.e: political) that ended up as solo faction roleplays due to lack of opposition. Though their efforts were more concentrated on a couple single objectives, it was not enough to overshadow their absence in the other stories in development. Resurgent Empire victory.

With a final score of 4-2, the winner is the Resurgent Empire.
