- Powerslave: With its onboard droid brain network the Defiance can be managed as a completely automated starship eliminating the need for a vast majority of the required manpower needed to crew the vessel otherwise.
- Battleship: Carrying a high armament compliment the Defiance is primarily meant in role to support larger vessels by scrambling target priority and to support formations of smaller vessels by providing bruising firepower inline with starfighter and corvette or cruiser movements.
- TIE Racks: Carrying a hangar load out meant to accommodate for TIE series vessels which can be compactly stored and rapidly deployed, utilizing this line of starships as the ship's compliment allows for more effective 'hit and slip' tactics meaning a faster starfighter deployment and recovery.
- Watch Your A*s: Like all ‘wedge’ shaped star destroyers, only an array of point defense cannons protect the Defiance’s aft at all. Leaving its ion drives fully exposed to enemy fire in a gruesomely exposed blind spot.
- Axial Firepower: With the hyper velocity gun mounted in the center of the Defiance the main armament is re purposed to target opposing capital ships however with it being locked in place it must traverse the entirety of the vessel in order to change firing trajectory.
The Defiance-class Star Destroyer was constructed in partnership between the New Imperial Nay corps of Engineers and the Technoid Manufactorum. Mainly intended as the ship-of-the-line in New Imperial Order fleet formations the Defiance offers a suit of bruising firepower encased within thick shielding and hull plating whilst being able to match the speed and maneuverability of ships of a similar class in a vessel capable of overpowering similar size vessels. Calling back to the symbol of Galactic Imperial dominance which once drove a shiver of fear through the entirety of the Galaxy the Defiance carries itself as the centerpiece vessel of the Imperial armada.
