Alex Stern
Outer Rim Resources Director
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Acquired by Domino from Circe Savin in exchange for not stealing the one she'd sold to Silk and for the return of Alna, Domino used the station to leverage her position within the Hutt Cartel. The dockyards were rented to the faction for their operating cost while she used the station itself as a base of operations above Nar Shaddaa for her Twin lotus Syndicate, keeping her people safe from gang warfare on the ground until she was ready to expand. Drug labs (now gone) and renting space to civilians kept the station afloat until Excon's rebellion. She had always had plans for the station, but after the battering it took during the battle, the crime lord decided to take advantage of the repairs needed and began a massive overhaul of the station's interior.
To effect these changes, three proton torpedo batteries and two squads of her defensive fighters along with a large portion of the cargo holds and supplies were removed. Troop quarters, cargo holds and other interior space were also freed up to construct a civilian concourse with the outer wall replaced by a massive window made of extra thick transparasteel. An apartment complex, small shopping center and hotel casino were added into the 'strip' along with several bars. Whatever a spacer needed to relax and unwind after a job while searching for his next one. The casino has an entire floor dedicated to a health-club spa and a transparent swimming pool with underwater views into space. While the exterior had critical areas like the command center receive an extra six inches of durasteel armor and two areas were made for capital ships to dock to. An older model station tug was also permanently added and covered by the station's shielding system to provide a limited range of maneuverability to the instillation.
After her retirement from the Black Suns, Domino moved the station to the resort world of Vaynai. There it served as headquarters for the Twin Lotus, while the dockyards and production facilities were rented out to Outer Rim Resources. After Domino withdrew from the galaxy, the company purchased the station outright and took over all operations. Initially, much of OOR’s heavy manufacturing and shipbuilding was done on the station before newer facilities overshadowed the venerable station.
After the Sith Order announced Planetary Development plans, ORR’s new Director, Alex Stern, got a jump on things by repositioning the station to Darkknell. The new location brought it within easier reach of other company assets in the Outer Rim and allowed it to support local trade and manufacturing along the important Hydian Way trade lane. Onboard facilities allow the recruitment and training of new employees to fill new positions as operations expand, in addition to regional management offices. Finally, the station was renamed to Iridum Station.
