  • Holonet Transceiver
  • Standard Communications Array
  • Standard Detention Cells Re-purposed Live Food Storage (aquarium hatcheries intended for consumption)
  • Standard Life Support Systems Resu-specific Life Support Systems
  • Standard Navigational Systems Liquid Metal Hydrogen connection to Resu Navigator via Biolux Series Organoform Circuitry, with assistance from Calor Series Biocomputers
  • Standard Targeting Systems The same as Navigational System
Passenger Capacity: 5,000 7,000 Resu (Original Optimum Crew Count reduced by 99%, plus old Passenger Capacity [13,000], divided in half to account for larger size of intended passenger species.)
Cargo Capacity: 20,000 tons 10,000 (Cargo space halved for rudimentary hangar)
Consumables: 5 years 10 years (Aquariums replenish consumed prey through specialized hatcheries)

Hangar:
  • (Originally N/a) More of a shielded hole in the ship than a hangar, this e-purposed cargo space, only has enough space for a transport shuttle. The rest is dedicated to keeping the likely non-Resu passenger alive and happy for the duration of his/her trip aboard the Iron Blade, with accommodations that were suggested by a human designer (as opposed to a Resu).

Speed: 8 (16?)
Maneuverability: 8 (16?)
Hyperdrive Rating: 1.0, Backup: 10.0

Strengths:
  • Long Range Powerhouse - While lacking approximately a quarter of the original Dark Blade's armaments, it still retains its awesome long range ship busting capabilities.
  • Protection in Triplicate - With its reinforced hull plating, and double redundant deflector shields, the amount of damage this ship could potentially absorb is massive... assuming its long range fire hasn't reduced the enemy into slag before then, of course.
  • Ionic, E.M.P., and Cyber-warfare Resistance - Due to the nature of the reworked circuitry involving Liquid Metal Hydrogen Technology from the Resu, interfacing with Biolux Organoform Ciruitry and Caros Series Biocomputers, resistance to Ion, E.M.P., and Cyber-warfare are all but accounted for. Attempting to disable or disorientate this ship through any other means than physically destroying essential components in battle is going to be very difficult for the enemy.
  • Processing Powerhouse - Thanks to the superconductive nature of the Liquid Metal Hydrogen technology, all mental commands from a Resu Navigator travel through the ship approximately at the speed of light through hydrogen. This means that the reaction time between the pilots of the ship, and the ship conducting that command is nearly instantaneous compared to standard navigational or targeting systems.
Weaknesses:
  • Exotic - From the life support, food storage situation, and the components which make up its information and computing network, there is little in the way that is standard on this ship now that it has been modified by the Resu. Because of this, its maintenance costs have sky rocketed in order to ensure their technology is working properly with the foreign ship design, as well that their organic components are well adjusted. If a "circuit" blows out on this ship, it becomes a tenuous, arduous, long, and complicated process of repairing whatever went wrong, if the "repairman" can even find what is wrong.
  • Directed Radiation - In addition to being exotic, many of the circuitry are actually alive. Meaning that high doses of weaponized radiation can really damage the ship's ability to react. This is true, even with the increased radiation protection from a water atmosphere reducing radiation damage, as the Biolux Organo Circuits that branch away from the center are kept in separate environments from that of its occupant, making it vulnerable.
  • Dulled Teeth - In order to make room for the exotic components on the ship, as well as general living space, and compartments for food storage... about a quarter of the guns originally found on a Dark Blade have been removed (and salvaged for other purposes in the Outback). This means that while formidable, the Iron Blade has smaller bite than its Dark Blade fore-bearer.
  • Pitiful Hangar Space - Having been originally designed without one, it is incredible that the Resu were capable of creating one at all out of re-purposed cargo space. Nonetheless, while it exists, it only has enough room to hold a single transport. There will be no fighters or bombers assisting this ship from its hangar, as such in order to be effective the Iron Blade will require support ships just as its predecessor did.

Description: The Dark Blade Dreadnoughts could only be described as weapons of total war. They were designed, built, and intended for one thing and one thing alone, battle. While many other Ships within the galaxy are designed with a secondary function, such as the Star Destroyers function as an occupation and control ship, the Dark Blades were designed with only war in mind. Their myriad of weapons and their lack of a hangar displayed this function quite well. Housed within the Black Blades were no troops meant for invasion, no tanks for sieges, and certainly no walkers for prolonged assaults

Inside of its narrow halls and corridors one found only gunners and crewmen ready to serve their function. Hundreds of astromech droids roamed their halls in service as repair droids, while an equal number of crewmembers regulated power output to the dozens of weapon systems upon the Dark Blade Dreadnoughts. The bridge sat in the center of the ship, nestled away safely within mountains of durasteel, being fed information from hundreds of cameras and an advanced sensor array. Every system within the ship was designed and geared for battle, every operation and system within the ship was meant utterly for war.

So it comes as a stroke of irony that when one was captured by the Underground members of the Kathol Outback, and transferred over to the alien refugee, Iron Giant, it was for the explicit purpose of conversion into a home for thousands of displaced aliens known as the Resu. Its narrow halls and corridors widened to fit its new occupants, weapons removed to make space, entire sectors of the ship shifted and redesigned to provide sufficient comfortable space for these aquatic denizens. Whole wards are filled with the exotic fish of its homeworld, outfitted with hatcheries with the specialized task of keeping its food breeding. The entirety of the ship is filled with water, and special filtration units that distill it with hydrogen. Deep within the ship along the revised corridors of this Dark Blade, runs a kind of blood, which makes all ships piloted by the Resu, unique.

The unique circuitry of the entire retrofitted ship, leads to the safely nestled command bridge, turned into a large scale Resu Navigators Suite. These cybernetic aliens become directly connected to all of the ships systems, as if these systems were a direct extension of the various pilots. A single pilot could now replace several hundred gun crews.

So while this Dark Blade had been modified from a dog of war, into a mobile home for Resu Refugees, it still manages to retains much of its past as a highly capable combat vessel given the inherently warlike nature of its new occupants and owners.

Intent: To use a ship marred with the history of titanic warfare against the galaxy, for the express purpose of housing thousands of Resu refugees.
Who Can Use This: Iron Giant, Resu Characters, The Resu Navigators Guild, Gallofree Yards Inc., The Underground (The Kathol Outback).

Does this seem to be a reasonable modification? Are the strikethroughs distracting, or does it clearly show where things were modified?

I moved around the original submission so that it would better fit the new template, and I wasn't sure about the ratings so I kept them as they were and didn't bother guessing, so assistance there would be most helpful.

Everything seems good, the strike-throughs should be removed for the final sub, [member="Jorus Merrill"] , that speed and Move seem a little high, I'm thinking 12 to 14 as this is just into the destroyer line correct.

Also, you gonna re-purpose those guns you removed, what were you thinking of adding?

[member="Bryce Bantam"] They were removed for fluff reasons, as in, they won't be replaced because the space they used to occupy is now used for occupancy/technology/consumables/what-have-you.

They sacrificed some of the guns to turn the ship into a home, so the ship is a bit weaker than the normal Dark Blade in terms of pure firepower, but in exchange it gets a bunch of occupancy space for our extra large passengers, with technology that allows for an incredibly small crew count, that can fire better and react better to their environment than a larger crew unmodified could.

That was my line of thinking anyway.

[member="Iron Giant"] - Love it, a unique and still BA ship, I would say just get rid of the cross outs when you post it to the factory and as for dev I'm not seeing anything that would make it OP need dev, however, I'm not a FJ so my word is not law by any stretch of the imagination.
