Is it possible to create force shield?

Say you were in battle and you needed some protection as you wore no armor, is it possible to create a force barrier that fits around your frame, like a force armor?

Also is it possible to create a small shield to absorb small arms fire for a few brief moments? Would these have to be developed?

[member="Wraith Draigar"] - Scanning through Wookiepedia, there are two articles that might catch your fancy:

Force Barrier is what you think of when you picture a bubble absorbing blaster fire and such. It's a basic power most Force-Users can learn, but it's usually only able to soak up a few shots before collapsing.

There's also Force Resistance, also called Force Shield, which is basically a way for Jedi to guard against the influence of the dark side. Also a very basic power.

The Force has literally infinite uses, and is limited by two things.

1. Your imagination.

2. Your power.

I'll say what I always say.

The Force (and what you can be accomplished with it) is infinite. Your ability to use it, however, is not.

A force shield cannot absorb a blaster bolt of any size if I remember correct. It can shield you from debris and stuff and stuff like smoke. I doubt you'll find something that can absorb firing of any blaster. That's like trying to make a tutaminis shield. Might want to ask someone else though but I think I said it well

Edit: Thurion got this in the bag

Pay close heed to your rank and the nature of what you're trying to stop. If you're trying to stop a laser cannon bolt as a Padawan, it will not end well. If you're trying to reflect a blaster bolt as a Master, it'll be no problem if you have the training.

Can you deflect a blaster bolt and small arms fire as a padawan? Also how would you hone this skill or would it progress as your rank progressed?

It's a standard power in Jedi Academy - 'Force Protection.' Normally I'm not one for game canon, but it's well substantiated in a wide variety of books. It's Ashin's specialty.

For some context on how it can progress, in that game the apprentice level resists 25% of damage and the master level resists 90% of damage.

Invulnerability, bad. Mitigation, good.

Do not be this Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: Dark Empire. This is an example of what not to do....

Haha. Okay, just making sure. Oh! And if you do decide to go that far out? Make sure you're wearing Halo armor, using a Starkiller Avatar, and exploding at least a dozen Star Destroyers with a pink Kamahaha wave. Ya know. For coolness. :D :p

I still love you Jay lmao. Fethin awesome.

And to quote Sarge and everyone else:

Yes you can do such, but only after substantial training. I at one point made a TK sword by 'condensing molecular air currents' or something similar. Only last for one cut, wasnt in a battle, and even then made sure to note that something like that would be draining unless a specialty.
