Is This Normal?

So I posted two ships in the factory, one of them was a wip. They both got denied right off the bat, without me getting the chance to make the necessary changes. Is this normal for the starship section of the factory? Because with my experience in the Technology creation section I have found that I usually get to fix my errors. Also, do I just re post them with the changes made?

Second chance them, if you want to. The point is, that if there are too many problems or the overall concept is fuzzy (sorry, I don't know much about starships so I don't know what they are judging over there), it is better to deny the submission rather than start working on it. That's all I am able to say. More information could come from the starship judges. ;)

one of the main rules of the factory is to not post Works in Progress the other part is for minor factions no ships over 1000m's looking at your one denial it was not because of errors with the sub it was because it was over the minor faction size limit and did not have a real shipyard.

There you go. Both of your submissions cleared up. :)

The only way I've ever gotten anything through the Factory is with the help of others before I submit anything. Ayden's been the biggest help to me by far. This might sound crazy, but I highly recommend you get a few people to help you complete a sub before actually submitting it. Every time I've asked for help my submissions have gone from silver to gold. Huge difference in quality just by getting a few helping hands.

I also tend to build upon the achievements of others by looking at similar submissions and seeing what other people got right. If I'm building a gun I look at what Jacen or Noah or HK are building these days. If I'm building a capital ship I look at Syn or Isley stuff. Stuff like that. I find what's modern, what's new, and what's just plain crazy. Then I try to avoid the stereotypes and build upon the foundation that others have achieved.

Factory Judges themselves are the best source for tips on what to correct and what to avoid. But I must approach them before I submit anything. Otherwise I get a denial because of a simple misstep or spelling error. Nobody wants to see that. Not even a Factory Judge feels good about having to deny something because of a wrong metric conversion. The key for me has always been approaching the Factory professionally, patiently, and receiving my feedback long before I ever submit a single page.

You'll get the hang of it. Cheers. :D

Or, if you're lucky, I catch your submission before it's denied, and I give you a chance to fix the errors. :p

In all seriousness, though, if you have questions, feel free to ask a Factory Judge for advice. But don't expect a Factory Judge to do all the work for you. It's one thing to ask if a certain measurement is right, or if your ship can carry a certain payload, but don't ask a Judge to write the entire description for you.

As an aside, I personally hate denying a submission without at least posting my reasons why, and if the situation is salvageable, allowing the submitter a chance to fix said errors.

Ok thanks guys. Although I found the shipyard on wookieepedia. Perhaps the page got taken down since I posted it. Also the size for both were within 1000 meters. But I am changing my ideas for the ships anyways. Until I get us to a major faction I will wait to brainstorm more ideas. Thank you for all of your input
