Between the physical components of the ship and the advanced electronics warfare suite that complements the ship's structure, the Enigma-class can remain undetected even with the most detailed of scans.
- Hello...and Goodbye - A staple of Interstellar Starship Technologies is its hyperdrive technology. It is fitted with a state-of-the-art hyperdrive that is dependable and fast. IST wanted to be sure that this commission housed its proprietary hyperdrive so that this "ghost of the stars" can get from A to B in a jiffy.
- Dive, Dive, Dive! - Once the Enigma-class has been detected, it must rely on its speed. The coating, exterior technology, and fragile systems will take a pounding if it gets through its shielding. While its hull is an advanced material, it is relatively thin in comparison to other corvettes designed for warfare. If it takes a lot of damage, it will lose a dramatic amount of its stealth capabilities.

When you are using bleeding-edge technology, every system is sensitive to temperature, physical impacts, electrical surges, etc. These systems can be quirky when conditions are not optimal. In addition, all of these parts are highly advanced, which means the maintenance and availability of these parts are very expensive.

With its advanced onboard systems, its technology that makes a ship near invisible as it gets, and its state-of-the-art Electronics Warfare and Signals Suite, the Enigma-class functions in this capacity quite well.
Due to this being a commission, advanced materials were used in its construction, so it has a price tag to match.
