It’s a Wonderful Life (Day)

Season’s greetings! It is a time for closeness and celebration across the galaxy. Many out there have families to turn to during this time of year, but not all. In this spirit, if you are receiving this message, you are cordially invited to the Life Day celebration being held by Gherron and Nefertari Vael. Please feel welcome to bring your friends and family, and any presents or special foods you would like to share. Festivities will begin on Chandrila at Rosedge Manor, the twenty-fifth of December.

It had been a week since Gherron had sent out the invitation to all of his and Nef’s close friends. Shmi and Josh has arrived a few days earlier in earnest to help set everything up for the party, and he was eternally grateful for them. He was just finishing off his favorite part of decorations: the huge tree in the center of the main room. Stepping back to admire his work, he smiled at the glittering tower of green. Something was missing, however. A quick look told Gherron that the star wasn’t anywhere in the near vicinity. Frowning in thought for a moment, he started making his way to the next room. ”Josh? Nef? Shmi? Any of you guys seen the tree topper?”

An invitation for a celebration without and computations, okay that was a bad rhythm, but a party of sort that anyone could attend was something Chikako would not simple cast aside the child Duchess taking every opportunity to enjoy herself in the worlds of diplomacy and constant long and boring talks. Flanked by two of her Jedi body guards the noble Echani disembarked from her private Quill Class Shuttle, her long black and grey dress flowing as she walked down the ramp, trying to put on a proper and mature poise in the process, though failing utterly. Anyone looking even remotely at the young Echani would not the child like glint in her eye as she observed the elaborate decorations, her body shaking with excitement with each step, 'ohhh this is going to be a ball, I can just feel it'.

[Alexandra Feanor]

Alexandra itched at her arm, trying to figure out how she was supposed to act anymore in these situations. Social situations were never her strong suit before and after the body change, her time alone, and constantly worried she might fall into her old ways... she wasn't quite relaxed anymore.

One thing did help her relax though, and it was the fact that Gherron had taken the time to search her out and get her the invitation. She had kept her distance, arriving a few days early as well but unlike [member="Josh DragonsFlame"] or [member="Shmi DragonsFlame"], she did not help set up. Nor approach them if she could avoid it. Instead she spent more time watching from the side and making sure that her presence was ok considering she wasn't a Jedi and half expected to find herself at the hand of them cutting her off from the force if she didn't keep an eye on them.

Joshua had been a friend at one point so she was less worried about him, but the other was someone she didn't know at all and could not trust as Hel battered her mind with the worst case scenario. She tried to play off her being on the side of things as being sick though, careful to avoid long talks or letting Daeda get too far away from her, considering he could be used as a target.

She knew that the paranoia was probably unnecessary, but she had gotten this feeling of being watched as of late. It was made worse by the mental annoyance that was Hel, so she figured being around friends would be safer. Atleast until she found people she did not recognize, but with all that she did find some enjoyment out of the situation.

She imagined what this day would be like if she had not ruined her past, taking moments to watch the others that were already here and smiling to herself as she imagined what that must feel like. Sure she could reach out with her empathy, tap onto the others and live it through them, but that was invasive and she did not wish to do such to her friend on such a day. After all this was a day for people to be happy and even as she itched at her arm, she was smiling, happy to be in a place that felt like a home for once.

[Nefertari Sovint]

A light snow fell on the village of Rosedge, and a feeling of joy mingled with the normal feeling of the force. Nef was certainly glad for Josh and Shmi's help as she looked at the to-do list once more.
Nef was decorating in the library, when Gherron came in
”Josh? Nef? Shmi? Any of you guys seen the tree topper?”
"Articus was holding it since he wanted to help you, so he might have carried it off by accident. I'd guess he's in he kitchen."

Life Day.

He wasn't used to this, to be honest. He'd spent most of his Life Days alone since he was a child. He just... Never really had a family. Of course, this all changed when he met Shmi. He then spent the next two years as an actual family, first with Shmi, then with Shmi and Jason. And things felt... Right. Now he was spending it with his extended family, a brother he though he'd lost and his wife. To spend Life Day together as a larger family... It was... Unfamiliar. But... It was kind of nice.

"I haven't seen it" Josh would respond toward the others as he helped decorate the tree, before looking around to see where Jason had gone off to. "Where are the kids? Odds are one of them has it, aye."
