Private It’s just good business

latest

It been a couple of weeks since Ben had been appointed Viceroy of Seswanna, and a couple of days since he was promoted to the Directorate’s first Grand Admiral. Ben was proud of himself. He had accomplished many things since he first joined the Directorate.

Ben walked over to the balcony of his palace. It was located in the center of a major city on Seswanna and was given to him as part of his new job. The view was great, better than being on a Star Destroyer. Today was a big day, he was hosting a meeting with many corporate CEOs. If they could come together and manufacture materials for the Directorate that would be a huge win. Not relying on third party corporates would prove to be efficient for the small but growing faction. One of his troops entered, “Sir, it’s time.” Ben turned and nodded.

It was an easy job for both Kredius and Credius, having managed to weasel one of their more personal compatriots into a position of power within the Confederacy of Independant Systems. Ben Craig was wise, cunning and ruthless in his own way, a man with enough credentials to impress even the Viceroy of Eriadu himself and for this reason alone, Credius saw fit to believe this man to be a worthy leader, a strong pawn within a game he surmised to be taking on a scale that had never been seen before.

A terrifying sight it was, the large Valedictorian, the immensely powerful first number of the Dictator class battlecruisers, hovering over the planet of Seswenna like Damocles' sword. even if this was but a mere corporate congress, a conglomeration of the directorate's most wealthy members, it was pertinent for the most wealthy and most powerful member of this meeting to display this immense lead compared to the others with a show of force, a show of ruthless strength and overwhelming firepower. Luckily for those on the surface, it was just that...a show.

With the shuttle landing near the agreed place; the new Viceroyal's palace, the baydoors of the vessel opened, with a detachment of Mercury ZMD droids exiting the vessel and forming up a line in front of it, splitting apart when the rest of the ship's occupants exited the craft. A small squad of about ten Valkan guards flanked two people in lines of five. A man dressed with impeccable taste and showing off the wealth within his dress, followed by a mysteriously masked man, clad in an armor with obviously exquisite and expensive auridium and electrum detailing, wearing a large red robe and hood, a large bloodred sword hanging from his belt.

"You know your duty," Kredius declared loudly to the Valkan guards, dismissing them when coming close enough to the palace that no outside escort of any guards of their kind would be seemingly prudent or necessary anymore. Though the masked man did remain at Kredius' side, calmly whispering into the Viceroy's ear. "Let them have a sense of security and trust, it would do you well to learn more of this political grandstanding for the next missions you will be forced to undertake...Kronos."

A single small vessel slides into normal space over Seswanna, an old imperial raider corvette nothing grand nor meant to stand out, simply the preference of a man who liked to travel with a bit of flair. A few moments after arrival a single shuttle departed from the corvette heading to the surface it made atmospheric entry after transmitting it’s landing codes and proceeded to cut through the clouds and making an approach for the palace, it would descend and land gently on the platform and out would come a man most had not heard of but he would be changing that soon perhaps some of that would change here.

Followed from the ship were two private guards who traveled with him, both of them clad in Mandalorian beskar, neither bore the mark of a clan but rather bore the mark of his company and walked a step behind the man as he approached the waiting guard. He spoke two the Mandalorians flanking him “Keep an eye on things, should anything seem out of place you have leave to intervene. But let’s try not to.”

A perfect obscene gesture of her wealth entered the planet's space. A LO-203 Furia Class Frigate, made personally for herself, exited cloak and a shuttle departed with Alli Vern and her two assistants, two women who were quiet, gorgeous and held some data pads and followed Alli wren like assistants but to a trained eye seemed to be like guards as well. Once they landed, she would enter, wearing the star wars equivalent to a pant suit with as much style as she could get away with on it black of course. This was her thing, business meetings. She hoped this went as well as she imagined it would. Taking a deep breath and putting her best charming smile on her face.

The Red Scion, personal corvette to the Force Commander of the Red Giants boomed down from orbit, its engines rocketing it at attack speeds towards the landing pad before leveling out and abruptly stopping with just enough room for the landing gear to deploy underneath. The drives cut off, clicking and clanking as they cooled. The landing ramp lowered as the side mounted blasters rotated as they scanned the surrounding area. This meeting wasn't just for Chris's company, Arms Dynamics' semi-nationalized nature made this a military matter.

Accompanied by his sergeant-at-arms and a representative of Nothmir's industry pillar, Chris adjusted the medals on his dress uniform and began to walk from the landing pad. Despite knowing there wouldn't be any issues over the course of the event, he and the sergeant were armed, the armsman with a negotiator and Chris with an aged but well cared for sword. Even in the company of friends the ceremonial role of officer and enlisted had to be upheld, that and Chris mused, the sword was pretty nice.

Ben had alot on his mind. The Directorate was growing stronger and stronger by the hour, alliances were being secured, forward outposts and Imperial garrisons were being constructed. And when the Directorate grew stronger, Ben Craig grew stronger. Not physically no, but he was very powerful and wealthy. His position as a Board member of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation gave him access to many items. "Sir, a battlecrusier just entered our system. Shall we deploy the defense force?" Ben smiled, it was hardly an enemy, he knew how dramatic Credius liked to be. "No need, it's a friendly. Expect a guard contigent to come to the surface." Ben shook his head, "Credius and his stupid dramatics." Ben wasn't without his own theatrics though of course. As he strolled through the halls towards the confrence room, his oversized white cape flowing behind him. Ben rather liked his cape, traditionally white capes were saved for those Directors or those in the ISB, but Ben had come to love it.

Ben reached the confrence room where the visitors would meet him. In the center of the room was a long table, treats and drinks neatly placed. "Escort those coming here." His aide nodded and rushed off to collect the Corporate visitors. They would arrive at the entrance of the Palace before being escorted to the room. Ben sighed and quickly exited the room. Credius may have his dramatics, but Ben liked to make an entrance. He would keep his visitors waiting for a moment before barging in. He smiled...they would love it.

Recognizing a similar way of greeting and handling incoming guests, both Kredius and the masked man couldn't help but let out a rather amused chuckle. However, unlike the now rather wealthy Viceroy Ben Craig of planet Seswenna, Kredius and his masked companion were in control of an entire system, the wealth of House Nargath easily eclipsing that of many a great house in the galaxy, rivaling even the wealth of the mighty Zambranos which held power of the Sith Empire and this wealth had translated itself in a mighty Dictator Battlecruiser currently orbiting the planet as a sign of the success of House Nargath, it had translated itself in the very might of the Nargath and Zanareth Umbrella Corporation, which controlled the majority of trade done in various large swaths of Galactic space and lastly it had translated in the very ascension of the man who was now welcoming them into his home.

Arriving under escort, the two found themselves within a large and spaceous conference room, already aware of what was about to transpire, as they themselves employed this technique as well. However, to lessen the impact of the viceroy's arrival and to amuse themselves a bit, Kredius greeted Vislor Elatar and Chris Walker Chris Walker specifically, calmly mentioning the success of their most recent stock exchange deals and keeping them up to speed of the other acquisitions made by the N&Z corporation. "Well...given this is a business meeting, I reckon our host is perfectly aware of who he's dealing with. A room full of wealthy and powerful industrials is never an easy company to keep entertained and interested."

Alli Vern looked around the room and tried to place names to the faces. She had to admit she hadn't met them before. "Hello, I am Alli Vern, Owner of Tanlab Industries and Wren'goa station and the Libertalia." She nodded in agreement, this was just a way to make an entrance. She had done it herself numerous times. Her frigate it self was an one of a kind, however if people were showing off battle cruisers maybe she needed to upgrade. She could afford it, the matter would be getting one that was worth getting. Before owning Tanlab, Alli had owned Backtoid Industrial Systems and been the supplier to countless factions. She was no stranger to power or wealth. This was a first step to being a company that mattered again.

Her new Identity which was really just a combination of her two old identities was really just to avoid any old enemeies. She kept up conversation with the others, trying to occupy the time waiting for the hosts grand entrance. "I didn't know it was bring an intimidating masked guard to work day." She gestured to the robed masked man. "If only I had gotten that memo, I would of someone or thing more interesting than my assistants."

Chris in turn nodded back to Credius 'Given Craig's resources and reputation, I wouldn't expect anything that isn't spectacularly entertaining' He glanced down at the sword Nargath wore and a sense of wrongness came over him, but he quickly shook it off 'I'm hopeful for the future of our now shared interests, your acquisition of a portion of Arms Dynamics has bulked out our shared resources to a point where the company can begin production of some... larger products. Now that Nothmir has been integrated into the Directorate and our corporate sector has an "in" for business with the rest of a galaxy.'

This was going to be interesting, Arms Dynamics had a growing list of products and the sale of their products to the Directorate and beyond was going to be a requirement to find further funding for high risk development or smaller, unique products. It was time to make some deals.
