Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble and Aris were having a father/son day out in the colony, so Valery remained at home with Vera and the triplets. She had been reading Aurra's favorite book whilst keeping the little girl in her lap, and Adam and Aeryn were playing with their toys on the ground by her feet. Vera was just watching the holo-tv for now, but they were all ready for one other person to join them.

"Mommy, when is the guest coming?" Vera asked, mostly because she wanted to know if she could still finish her show.

"Romi will be here soon, and I'd like you to welcome here in, if you don't mind." Valery smiled, and Vera looked over, wondering why. "She's one of my best friends in the whole Galaxy, but she hasn't met all of you yet. I'd like that to change today," she added and Vera immediately grinned wide. One of mom's best friends? That must mean she's pretty awesome! Which... she already knew of course. Vera loved collecting toys of all her favorite Jedi. She had mom, dad, Amani and of course, the famous Romi Jade figure was an important part of her collection too.

She just had to keep Aeryn from throwing her around all the time.

"Mkay! I can't wait to meet her!"

With a warm smile, Valery turned back to the children's book, and pointed at the Tauntaun, Aurra's favorite animal. The little Noble squealed happily, even though she had read this very book hundreds of times already, but that didn't matter. These were the moments Valery loved the most.

The galaxy stretched out before the cockpit of the sleek starship, stars winking like distant fireflies in the vast expanse of space. A sense of anticipation hung in the air as the vessel glided through the interstellar void, on a course set for a hidden haven. On board, Romi Jade stood at the viewport, her eyes reflecting the twinkling lights outside as her thoughts wandered through the tapestry of memories and responsibilities that made up her life.

Romi's reputation as a formidable Jedi was matched only by her unwavering dedication to the Jedi Order. Her name had become synonymous with courage and wisdom, traits that had seen her through countless trials and battles. Yet, as the ship hummed gently around her, she couldn't help but feel the weight of time's passage and the toll it had taken on her personal connections.

One of those connections was about to be rekindled. It needed to be. Valery understood it all, because she was in the same boat.

As the ship gracefully descended through the atmosphere of a lush, vibrant world, Romi felt a surge of excitement and trepidation. The destination was a secluded estate, this was the home of Valery Noble, a fellow Jedi Master and an old friend who shared a storied history with Romi. Their paths had intertwined early in their meeting each other, forging a bond that transcended the rigors of their training and the demands of their roles. She really admired Valery, and she was one of her best friends.

Valery had extended the invitation with heartfelt sincerity. A beacon of warmth and kindness, she had managed to maintain a sense of balance that had eluded many in their order. Despite their unwavering commitment to the Jedi Code, Valery had always embraced the concept of life beyond the temple walls – a concept that Romi also embraced. Maybe that's one of the reasons they connected.

As the ship touched down on the estate's landing pad, Romi couldn't help but marvel at the tranquility that surrounded her. Tall trees whispered in the gentle breeze, and the distant calls of indigenous creatures provided a symphony of welcome. Stepping off the ramp, Romi sought Valery waiting with open arms, her smile radiant and genuine.

The moment Romi stepped outside, Valery was already standing in the open door with a warm smile on her face. It had been a little while since they last saw each other, but no matter how much time passed, the strength of their friendship would never fade. Romi was one of the best she ever had, and a Jedi who had really helped her settle in after coming out of stasis. From their time working together on Ossus, to the deeper conversations they shared.

This was going to be a good day.

Hugs were going to have to wait a moment though, as Vera rushed forward and came to a stop. She looked up at Romi, smiled and reached for her necklace — the Spintiri Crystal Necklace Romi had gifted for her birthday. Vera hadn't seen Romi since, so she wanted to make sure that one of her biggest heroes knew the gift was received and loved.

"Welcome to our home, Master Jade!" Vera said with a giggle, multi-colored eyes shining brightly, before looking over her shoulder. Valery was already on her way and opened up her arms to pull Romi into a tight embrace the second she could. "It's good to see you again, Romi."

"I hope the journey here wasn't too bad? Either way, let's go inside. I've made some tea and snacks."

The hum of the engines slowly faded, replaced by the rustling of leaves and the distant chirping of fauna. The loading ramp lowered with a soft hiss, and Romi stepped onto the lush green ground, her boots making a faint crunching sound on the gravel path. She could see Valery waiting, and that brought a smile to her face.

Taking in a deep breath of the crisp, fresh air, Romi felt a sense of tranquility settle over her. She allowed herself a moment to relish the feeling of being away from the constant demands of the Jedi Order. It was as if the very atmosphere of this place whispered promises of respite and connection. She had only ever felt like this when she went home to visit her own family, so feeling this here with Valery and her family made so much sense.

As Romi started for the home, she became aware of movement at the edge of her vision. Her gaze shifted to the side, and a soft smile tugged at her lips as she spotted a young girl approaching. With each step, the child's dark hair danced in the breeze, her eyes sparkling with an innocent curiosity that only a child could possess, and striking just like her mothers.

Vera.

Romi's heart warmed as she recognized Valery's daughter, a reminder of the life that existed beyond the battles and trials of a Jedi Master. Vera's presence was a testament to the resilience of those who dared to live fully even in the face of the galaxy's challenges.

Vera stopped a short distance away from the bottom of the ramp, her eyes locked onto Romi's with a mixture of awe and excitement. Her small hands fidgeted by her sides, fingers curling and uncurling as if unsure of what to do. And then, with a burst of determination, Vera took a step forward, her gaze unwavering.

Romi's heart swelled with affection for this young girl who embodied hope and possibility. She crouched down to Vera's level, their eyes meeting on equal terms. "That was the most bestest welcome ever Vera, thank you! Are you gonna show me around?" Romi held up her pinky finger, hoping to curl it around Vera's should she want to lead.

She stood up and leaned into her friends embrace. "Val...thanks for having me." She just released herself into her friends hold.

"It wasn't to bad honestly," She glanced over to Vera, "Tea and snacks sounds pretty good." She trailed the Keshian inside the home.

Valery watched her little girl rush over to Romi with a wide, motherly smile of joy. Vera was always a ball of excitement, but meeting her mother's friends and personal heroes just made it even better. So when Romi crouched down and complimented her on the welcome message, she grinned and bounced up and down a little. "I'd like to!" She responded and with her much smaller pinky finger, she reached for Romi's.

It was at that moment that her mother decided to interrupt with a hug, but Vera didn't mind and watched with a smile. Her mother was clearly happy to see her good friend, so she could wait a little longer.

"I'm glad it went smoothly," she said after the embrace broke, and the two started heading back towards the Noble home. Unlike the apartment, it had a lot of space to offer — quite necessary for a family of 7. The design was Keshian in nature, but a lot of the decorations and furniture were Epicanthix by design.

A mix of culturues, just the way they liked it.

"It has been a little while since we caught up. What have you been up to?" Valery asked after Vera had guided them into the living room, where she gestured for the couch. Tea and various snacks were on the small table in front of the couch, and the holo-tv was still playing one of Vera's favorite shows.

It was about the Jedi, of course.

The family home seemed to exude a warmth and comfort as Romi followed the Noble ladies inside. The entranceway led them into a spacious living room adorned with plush, inviting furnishings and large windows that allowed the golden rays from outside to pour in. The walls were adorned with tasteful artwork, each piece telling a story of the family's adventures and travels. The room was tastefully decorated with a blend of traditional and modern elements. It felt like a home.

As she entered the living room, she couldn't help but notice the way the space was infused with a sense of serenity. The air was fragrant with the faint fresh aroma, and she thought she could hear a soft melody played from a holostereo tucked into a corner? Or maybe it was Vera's holoseries playing. It was the kind of environment that made one feel instantly at ease.

But why wouldn't she amongst those she loved.

Valery led the way, her daughter Vera in tow, to a cozy seating arrangement arranged around a low, polished wooden coffee table. The table was adorned with a delicate lace doily and a ceramic vase filled with freshly picked wildflowers. It was clear that every detail of the room had been thoughtfully curated to create an atmosphere of homely elegance.

Romi followed their lead, taking a seat on a plush, earth-toned couch adorned with throw pillows in warm, inviting colors. She couldn't help but smile as she sank into the soft cushions.

Valery, ever the gracious hostess, had prepared a pot of fragrant tea, the sound of boiling water mingling with the soft hum of the holoseries. The rich aroma of the tea leaves filled the room, creating a sense of anticipation that seemed to hang in the air.

"It has--nothing much really. I've been focusing on more scholarly pursuits lately, just finished converting my old journals over into an actual book. It was accepted into the archives. I'm hoping to do more writing...but beyond that whatever you guys on the council throw my way. Oh and Jakku..."

"How have things been here? I love your home Val."

"I heard about Jakku after talking to Jackson Lesan Jackson Lesan at the Temple on Coruscant," Valery said with a warm smile. It was at that Temple, when Ala had been badly injured, that Valery first visited the planet and its enclave. Later, after its destruction, she had then helped Romi resettle on Ossus.

"So, if it helps, we'll throw less your way so you can focus on the efforts there. And if you need anything, whether it's resources or Jedi to help you out, just let me know, alright?" The NJO had grown immensely and Romi had always been someone who would receive their help. Rebuilding Temples after so many wars had brought them to the ground was a great way to celebrate better times.

Even if the rise of the Mandalorian conflict would likely ruin much of that again.

"As for me, things are well. Spending a little more time here at our new home and with the kids. It's great to be able to be with them a lot more than during the war." She smiled and looked at Vera, who seemed solely focused on devouring her snackies at the table.
