It's Been A While.

Aaralyn sat on the bed belonged to her daughter, [member="Mira Gyndar"] and gently touched the very fabric which the younger Gyndar slept beneath every night until the most recent weeks where she hadn’t heard a word from her. Her fingernails grazed each fiber gently as she sighed heavily – something didn’t feel right. There was something amiss in the Galaxy and she couldn’t quite figure out what it was. How could one have so much potential and ability within the Force but not be able to have the answers? Even as a Jedi Master, she never was able to answer this question – an ever burning fire in her mind. She knew about the case beneath Mira’s bed, she heard rumors of a trip to Ilum but hadn’t heard back yet from Mira.

It wasn’t like her, none of this was.

She could feel the presence of the Force beneath the bed of her daughter – which led her to the case that held artifacts including a Holocron within, which led her to contact [member="Shule Windspeaker"]. Aaralyn hesitated at first but upon finding out it had been rigged to destroy the contents, she urged it be left untouched until they discovered what exactly was going on – and then her worst fears came true, in the form of a droid. It took ‘Sneaker’ bursting into Mira’s room in a flurry of wails and beeps followed shortly by a stubby green R9 unit that made noises which resembled panic. Aaralyn recalled the holo that the droid played back and then the ensuing droid fight which led to ‘Sneaker’ shocking the other droid to such a point it collapsed. Of course, Aaralyn had to have the damned thing sent off to get inspected, analyzed and all data pulled from its brain about recent locations – they had to find out what happened to Mira.

Then there was the case and its contents, the reason this all came about. Part of Aaralyn desired to destroy it out of anger and fear of what was within, the other part desired to open it and see what was so important that her daughter would risk running off in such a way – and throw away all instincts and training. So, she gave in and with the help of her husband [member="Falcon Gyndar"], they were able to break into the case and disable to the mechanisms which Mira left behind. Within was the contents of Grandmaster Skywalker, his diary and holocron as well as his lightsaber that belonged to his father before him.

But if Mira had discovered all of this – why would she have stayed gone? The analysis on the droid and it’s exploits with Mira came to the conclusion that she was on the Hunt for other relics – including the lightsaber that belonged to the wife of Skywalker, Mara Jade. She had found clues on Vjun, which directed her to Kavan in the Hapan Sector and then to Tatooine. Apparently, she had found the saber and hid it within the confines of the droid which had abandoned her and left for Ilum to meditate. Aaralyn had discovered that her daughter was being plagued by visions of betrayal and darkness. Why would she have traveled back across the stars to meditate on something that she could have easily come to her about?

Things didn’t add up and didn’t feel right – so she called the only other person she knew to consult.

She couldn't wait anymore - she had to discover what the fate of her daughter was.

She had made contact with [member="Aton Gyndar"] to meet her in the hanger of the Yavin IV Praxeum and be ready to take a message for his father when he arrived, for now, she would gather all the belongings of [member="Mira Gyndar"] and store them in a contained and seal it - for safekeeping. She knew what it was like to have things taken from her while traversing down a path of darkness and confusion. The Skywalker Holocron she had studied already, memorized and would pass it onto [member="Shule Windspeaker"] or [member="Jorus Merrill"] whenever either of them met her too in the hanger - for now, she'd hang onto it. It needed to be added to the Jedi Order Library Card Network - and protected.

Everything was happening fast, as she expected it would - it needed to. They were losing valuable time to gather clues as to who attacked Mira and why? More importantly, where was she now? Maybe Aton had a clue or had heard from her, questions that needed answering and a sense of urgency was key.

The thing that commanded his attention these days was that which consumed the focus of every stitch in the fabric of the Mando'ade similarly - they were at war. As such, his eyes had been turned away from his home to the borders that encompassed the homes of all Mandalorians: the borders they shared with the entity now known as the Primeval. That name had become akin to uttering a curse, a sentiment that spread like wildfire from the time that evil had subjugated Dantooine and displaced countless sons and daughters of Mandalore, losing the people a valuable resource in the vein of sustenance. He'd had a craving for Plains Turkey and there was no sating it, and not having a craving sated could make a man grumpy.

So, in effect, he may have been a bit grumpy, and this was made worse by the utter disappearance of his one and only daughter, Mira. It'd taken longer than he liked to return to Yavin IV, longer than his recent short-tempered intolerance (uncharacteristic, but life had gone worse than pear-shaped) could stand and it had been an honest struggle to quell that enough to greet his cyar'ika in a way that wouldn't be counterproductive. He came to the hanger with his most recent of moods tightly capped, though it showed in the tightness of his face and was softened by the striking worry in his eyes.

"I came as soon as I could," he said, "but," he waved a hand back over his shoulder; a thing that didn't need saying, "be it that I could simply apparate..."

A fleeting twitch of the corners of his mouth was the most he could muster in terms of a smile, his lips reverting to a thin line, and he clasped his mate's shoulders with each of his hands.

"...I missed you, cyar'ika, but..." his fingers tightened around her shoulders; reconciliation could wait, "...we will find her..."

He tilted his head forward, putting forehead to forehead, his next words coming with a growl.

"...and the di'kut who dared lay a finger on our daughter? I hope for his sake that I don't find him."

How long had it been since Mira disappeared now? Too long if you asked Aton. While he certainly wasn’t letting it show as much as at first it still tore him up inside. He felt it, she felt that he felt it. At least the memory of her that lingered beneath. It seemed like ages ago since they last talked. Last they had talked it was to encourage him to train and he had followed along with the suggestion and after her disappearance it had only intensified.

They still quarrelled. He felt her pain just as she felt his worry, their bond seemed to work like that. He was probably part of why she was gone and it was this fact alone that forced him to distance himself from whatever emotion it was that he had on the matter, or at least try to. Deep down he was angry and disappointed. She was the strong one, the sibling that was more ‘connected’ both in the force and interpersonal.

The only real friend Aton truly had was [member="Liam Quez"] and even him had been met through Mira and her clique of friends. Not that the Gyndar kid needed much else. He had his saber and he had his training regiment. Anything else was just fluff to brighten his days. Which to be frank was Liam’s specialty. Making people happy that is.

Perhaps the fact that Aton remained calm when his dad didn’t spoke of who he took after the most. Or maybe it just meant Aton was deranged, crazy or worse. It could also have been the fact that he still knew that she was there somewhere, but that it didn’t really help.

“We'll find him.” He spoke up as he approached his parents. “Somehow.”

Aaralyn pressed her forehead against [member="Falcon Gyndar"]'s, a soft chuckle escaping her lips. "You have no idea what I'm going to do..." She'd bring her hands to his cheeks and gently grasp, her hands would rub against the stubble of his beard, her facial expression shifting to displeasure as she pulled back and shook her head softly. "You need a good shave..." An eyebrow raised. "And a shower." As best as she could, she was trying to make light of the situation. It was hard considering her only daughter was missing and the possibilities of her whereabouts were endless. She pulled away from Falcon and produced a journal that belonged to Mira and handed it to her husband. "This was her journal, luckily - it's unlocked, it might hold some clues."

She tried to touch her through the Force – but she couldn’t feel her, all she felt was a cold wall of darkness in her path. She sighed heavily and pulled away from Falcon as she heard the voice of her son, [member="Aton Gyndar"] and her eyes lit up like the skies of Coruscant. She rushed over and wrapped her arms around him tightly, her violet eyes watering up as she squeezed him tightly. “Oh Aton, I’ve missed you!” She began crying softly, pulling away to nuzzle his cheek and kiss his forehead gently. “Where have you been!?” A thousand questions burned through her mind, but that is the one that seemed to burst out of her mouth first. She held him close and brought her forehead against his own, her hands coming up to stroke his head. “It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter!” She ushered away his answer to her own question.

She suddenly came back, her hands coming to his shoulders. “Have you heard from Mira!?”

Aton would simply shake his head to both to his mother’s excitement and her questions. He had not seen Mira since she took off in her X-Wing going on her adventure. Long had he wondered if he was to blame for her disappearance and more often than not the notion struck him as somewhat true but what was a boy supposed to do when his sister had an iron will that he already knew he couldn’t deny her even if he tried.

“I haven’t seen Mira since a while back.” The boy said as she turned to his father. “I just know that someone has perverted her. I can feel it like a faint glimmer of light. She’s scared and alone, but I’m not sure her mind is any longer her own.”

It was a gut feeling and not really much to go on. The only thing they knew, the only thing that was concrete was the fact that Mira was missing and nobody really knew where. Her ship had returned, Master Windspeaker had sent some people to look for her but no word had yet reached their family about what happened with that.

“She is out there and we will find her.” His voice broke. “I just don’t know where to begin.”
