Born of a woman of the Horselords and fathered by an imperial envoy, Iwata was rejected by the Umanushi people and sent to be raised by her father and his wife. While cared for, there was little attention given to the unwanted child, and at the age of five Iwata was sent to preparatory school and then to Kansai's Western Academy for military training. She proved an excellent student, but rather strong-willed and often the butt of prejudice due to her Umanushi heritage. Her perseverence, excellent marks, affinity for animals, penchant for melee weapons and stubborn fearlessness made her a candidate for a mounted unit.
She was a young, fresh recruit when the One Sith invaded. The cavalry unit fought bravely, Iwata among them, but were hammered by the Sith forces and nearly obliterated. In shame, Iwata fled with a remnant of the mounted warriors to the colony on Shri-Tal, to become part of the military there and earn the name Jade Screamers. When the Galactic Alliance invaded Atrisia to dethrone Mythos, Iwatawas among those anxious to join the fight and rushed back to the Atrisian system to help dislodge the Sith. The Jade Screamers unit was rebuilt as part of the Royal Military and garrisoned at Lóngkou.

Appearance:
A small, delicate nose, plush lips and large dark eyes give Iwata a lovely, youthful appearance. With an almost waifish figure, Iwata would initially appear more suitable for a temple, court or theater. But her willowy figure conceals whipcord muscles wrapped tight around slender, strong bones able to wield the weighty weapons of the Jade Screamers. Her hair is jet black, highlights of violet visible in certain light. It is kept long and rarely cut. Iwata's light skin has subtle shades of gold, and is marred in a few places by scars. A colorful tattoo of koi and flowers adorn her right shoulder and upper arm.
Character Strengths:
(+) Mounted Warfare: Iwata is skilled in fighting from astride organic mounts and moving vehicles.
(+) Melee Combat: Iwata's formal military training and her Umanushi quickness make her lethal in hand-to-hand and martial art combat
(+) Keen Eyesight: Iwata possesses the excellent eyesight of he Umanushi heritage. This giver her exceptional farsightedness and the ability to note fine detail at a distance.
Character Weaknesses:
(-) Dislike of Space Travel: While she does not suffer the worst physical effects of full-blooded Umanushi while traveling in space, such transit makes her very anxious.
(-)Half-Breed: Iwata's Unmanushi blood subjects her to prejudices which can prove a challenge. Conversely, her Atrisian blood makes her welcome among the Horse Lords a cold one.

Personality overview:
Iwata serves Atrisia with her whole heart. She is a competent leader and fighter, doing both while keeping her emotions in check. Friendly and approachable, the Horse Lord blood in her leads her to work out of the box, or approach challenges from unexpected angles. She is passionate, but it is kept well-contained.
