- As an improvement over the IX-10, the IX-11 "Aeros" makes use of several new weapon systems designed by the company to give the ship an even greater amount of firepower and versatility compared to both its predecessor and its competition. The IX-11 can make full use of the various firing modes of its weapons with the pilot being able to switch with a press of a button on their control yoke or voice command to their astromech or AI.
- The IX-11 is built around a certain level of durability, with its enhanced hull plating and military-grade deflector shield, and has plenty of defensive countermeasures to keep itself protected from enemy missiles and torpedoes.
- Utilizing the versatility of its weapon systems can result in a few issues such as overheating with the Leamonde Laser Cannons and charge times with the Undin Ion Cannons when switching between their firing modes too quickly.
- If the Tidal Ion Engines are tampered with as they are very precise, they become a quickly ticking time bomb for anyone flying the craft.
The second starfighter designed during Aurora Industries' Phase III modernization program, the IX-11 "Aeros" Starfighter is an evolution and upgrade to the older IX-10 developed by the company in a previous phase of its fighter program. The engineering team revisited the entire design of the fighter, building out the frame and fuselage of the ship and eliminating the ancillary wings from the older ship. In their place, the design team began adding in the new weapon systems created by the company to give the IX-11 even more firepower.
Four Leamonde Laser Cannons were added to the wings, being able to fire in single shots or in linked bursts similar to an X-Wing, and two Undin Ion Cannons were placed on each wing tip to give the fighter a surprise ion attack against enemy craft with two warhead launchers rounding out the weapons. Four Tidal Ion Engines were installed to give the new fighter impressive speed and maneuverability, although not as much as the Aevis due to the increased weight from the enhanced hull plating of the ship. A military-grade deflector shield system was installed instead of the company's Xandret system and several defensive countermeasures from the Aevis were also carried over to the Aeros.
The new fighter was designed to go toe-to-toe with the latest X-Wing models hitting the battlefield, but also to be superior to the Caedus starfighter currently in use by the Sith Empire.
