  • Electromagnetic Pulse Generators and Power Coupling Units: Both can be independently turned off and on, as well as, being changed in power setting. The power coupling units are extremely powerful, giving off an electrical discharge that can shear off limbs, cook flesh, and a near miss can causes severe burns. In addition, the power couplings provide enough energy to parry lightsaber blows, as the power couplings themselves were impervious to lightsaber damage. A series of heat sinks within the handle of blade shield the user from the electrical discharge and prevent the user from damaging themselves. The electromagnetic pulse generators inflict pain, rather than damage, and require prolonged contact of at least three seconds to cause electrical damage to the opponent; settings for these generators range from stun, standard, and kill.

Description:
Hand-crafted and manually forged by Kitsune during the opening of Izanami Ironworks, the katana was engineered with the advanced components similar to the IG-100 MagnaGuards' Electrostaffs. Generating electromagnetic pulses through the blade of the katana and maintaining an electrical current within the blade itself, the katana, however, utilizes a cutting-edge used for slicing and stabbing rather than blunt-force unlike the electrostaff.


Internalized within the back of the blade is a series of micronized power coupling units, akin to those found in podracers, although much more developed, advanced, and refined. Similar to that of a San-Ni staff, the electrical discharged produced is powerful enough to shear off limbs, cook flesh, and even a near miss would give severe burns to an enemy. In addition, the power couplings provide enough energy to parry lightsaber blows, adding to the lightsaber resistance capabilities of the phrik katana. A series of heat sinks within the handle of blade shield the user from the electrical discharge and prevent the user from damaging themselves.

Akin to the electrostaff, the katana is capable of penetrating and neutralizing particle and ray shields due to the intense electrical discharges, which essentially disrupt the molecules which compose the shield itself.

The electromagnetic pulse generators and power coupling units, like force pikes and electrostaffs, have different power settings, going from stunning jolts to deadly and power electrical charges. Unlike electrostaffs, however, in the highest setting, the victim merely needs to be in the vicinity of the katana in order to sustain damage.

I'm sorry but the dev thread for the phrik does not cover the rest of this weapon's abilities. For it to bear features of an electro staff it would nullify its own vibrogenerator, and in addition the technology has nothing in common with the Sa-Ni staff since its energy was between the gaps in the weapon, not layering it. The main issue is the capabilities this would give it for added damage and bypassing shields completely. So there are two options.

WITHOUT DEV THREADS
  • Remove all mention of the electric bonuses inherent to electrostaffs or Sa-Ni staffs and leave the weapon as a phrik vibroblade

WITH DEV THREADS
  • Remove the fact the weapon is a vibroblade
  • perform another dev thread detailing the development of the weapon to have properties similar to an electrostaff in a sufficient manner

Force pikes are prime examples of shock generator technology coexisting with vibrogenerators. I don't see how one would nullify the other, and I could exchange reference to electrostaffs with mentions to force pikes in appeasement.

"At lowest setting, the spear would deliver excruciating electrical shocks, higher settings could result in paralysis and death, and at maximum setting, it could slice through everything from flesh and bone to thin durasteel plating."

The power settings of a force pike's shock generators is comparable to the technology that is seen above, but explained in greater detail than canon. In addition, it should be of note that force pikes were extremely common, not made of a particular metal and capable of:
  • Withstanding the blow of a lightsaber
  • Slicing through thin durasteel plating
  • Slice through bulkheads and airlocks

The only additional bonus that the above design adds would be: its phrik composition, ability to emit thermal energy associated with electromagnetic radiation along with electricity, and the ability to penetrate and neutralize particle and ray shields.

I believe that this added bonus is justifiable due to the unique nature of the weapon.

After looking it over and some consulting that would be fine to keep the effect and the vibro generator. However, you will need to remove the shield bypassing ability.
