BIG Z1776
Baboon with a MAAWS
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
A weapon designed as the go-to ship-mounted turret as well as a space-station and ground-defense turret for the CRAF. Designed as a weapon that can deal with a corvette or large freighter in short order thanks to its two mounted guns and its rapid rate of fire, this weapon is a common sight on CRAF warships and at CRAF facilities such as those around shipyards and bases. This weapon is seen in numbers around facilities and usually has its command center controlling a full battery with a large ammunition bunker underground with powerful autoloaders within the turrets being fed by ammunition hoists. Usually, batteries follow the standard CRAF model of six emplacements per battery, providing a great deal of firepower for the officer in command of it.
This weapon's long-range advantage isn't nearly the same as its larger cousins, and it is not capable of reaching anywhere outside of low orbit, where its effectiveness is only a note when lots of these weapons concentrate their fire. However, at shorter ranges, large numbers of these weapons can be lethal if the recipient isn't careful. RPers will also need to know that this weapon will eventually exhaust its ammunition without a resupply.
