STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
+ Aquatic Hunter: Jaani is an exceptional aquatic hunter, one of the best of his species. He has powerful legs for swimming and is used to facing off against much large creatures without technological aid.
+ Warrior: Jaani is from a long line of strong, athletic warriors and has been raised in a fierce warrior culture. He has been one of the most respected militiagungs of Otoh Gunga, often responsible for leading defence of the city against the various beasts that prey on Gungans.
- Not aware of his place: Jaani is used to being a big fish in a small pond. He has little experience of other cultures, species and environments. Despite being a fierce warrior, he had very little experience or knowledge about conventional military tactics and fighting styles.
- Technophobe: He has very little experience of traditional technology. He can barely even use a holonet terminal, isn't trained with guns, and frankly doesn't trust anything that isn't Gungan bio-tech.
APPEARANCE: Jaani is particularly large for a Gungan, which makes him exceptionally tall for a human. He comes from a long line of large and powerful Gungan warriors. Whilst he has the typical lanky Gungan gait, he is heavier set than most of his species. Sticking to traditional Gungan dress, he keeps his thickly muscled and scarred arms on show. His face is weathered with both wrinkles and scars. His right ear (haillu) was severed just a few inches from his scalp by an Opee sea monster when he was a youth. A long scar runs up and cheek and runs to his right eye stalk. That eye is still a pale colour from the damage it suffered from the same wound, and his sight has never been perfect on that side.

Recently he has taken to bounty hunting as well. In the wake of significant galactic wars there have been plenty of war criminals to hunt down.
Jaani grew up secluded in Gungan culture. Never particularly ambitious or one for deep-thinking, he followed the path of his family line and trained to be a militiagung from a young age. Much like his father he displayed exceptional physical prowess from a young age. Much larger than children his age, but still displaying balance and agility.
He joined the ranks of the gungan army and quickly obtained a position equivalent to a squad-leader in a conventional military. Whilst he was cunning, he never displayed the leadership skills or intellect required of an officer. Nevertheless he fearlessly led the men underneath him, either against the deadly sea creatures that occasionally plagued the Gungan cities, or in minor disputes. He earned great acclaim at the age of 20, when a border dispute erupted between two Gungan clans. He personally crushed the skull of Boss Kull with his trademark club in personal combat.
At 24 he was badly mauled by an Opee that attacked him in deep water. It took his ear and nearly his eye, nearly killing him. Jaani survived by wedging his electropole into the creature's mouth before it could cut him in two with its teeth. He is greatly proud of his physique and scars and will happily show them off at any opportunity.
In the last few years he has been acting as a bodyguard to the Boss of Otoh Gunga, as well as training new recruits. When the Gungan city was attacked. He fought bravely against the enemy, crushing several ASA droids, but eventually being brought down by a Jedi Master in personal combat.
Someone shocked from events, he came to the decision that it was time to expand his horizons and he left his post. Heading out into space to find new challenges and opportunities.
Jaani is a gungan of few words. He has a deep gravelly voice and a stern demeanour. He tends to speak in as little of the gunganese pidgin-basic as possible, mostly because he has found that most species find the accent highly amusing.
Force Powers:
Jaani is Force-sensitive, but has no appreciation or awareness of this. His powers have mostly manifested as abilities that are tied to nature or are internally focussed. His strength, speed, reflexes and agility are slightly beyond what they should be naturally. Some of the abilities that he has instinctively developed are below:
Force Body: Jaani can push his body slightly further than what he would normally be capable of. His exceptional endurance is partially aided by the Force.
Force Healing: This manifests as a slightly faster than usual healing rate when allowed long periods of rest. Wounds that would normally take weeks to heal can be repaired in days. He is slightly less susceptible to ailments than most.
Beast Control: Jaani has always established strong bonds with his Kaadu mounts, and his have often required less training time than usual.
Force Weapon: Jaani imbues his weapons with the Force. His favoured club hits much harder than it should, with enough force to crumple metal. It is also much hardier than it should be.
Plant Surge: Jaani enjoys cultivating plants in his spare time. They often grow exceptionally well.

Jaani typically uses a heavy five foot long club club. The head of the club is curved and can hold a booma at the end for throwing. However the end is heavier and more pointed than a traditional Gungal Atlatl and much more dangerous when bludgeoning up close.
He is also used to hunting with Gungan electropoles, and can through them with exceptional force and accuracy.
He uses a heavy Gungan personal shield. Twice the weight of a normal version, with a powerful field than can shield his whole body from blaster bolts and projectiles.
