APPEARANCE:
Average height average build, although his light brown hair, piercing blue eyes and chiseled chin are far from hard on the eyes. He wears comfortable spacers clothing, typical of any Corellian. His utility belt houses the essentials, comlink, credit chip etc. He keeps his DL-44 heavy blaster strapped to his thigh and a shoulder harness holsters his slug-thrower.
BIOGRAPHY:
Corellian born, Jace had a typical life one could expect on Corellia. He grew up flying or fixing anything with an engine. When he was 18, he joined the Republic military because he wanted to see the galaxy, save people...be a hero. He got his wish, even though it wasn't as glamours as he envisioned. He saw battle, he saw blood, he saw death. He was a good soldier, was even offered a promotion to become an officer, but he turned it down and stayed a Sergeant so that he could stay on the battlefield with his men. Eventually he grew disenfranchised with the Republics tendency to force themselves on people. But he served honorably for 16 years. Then retired. He wanted to be his own man, to not take orders... to be free.
He enjoyed his freedom, taking jobs and completely embracing the spacer's way of life. But then the Republic came calling again. His old squad was being sent to evacuate civilians while the fleet engaged a superweapon. His old squad refused to deploy unless they had their old "Sarge" leading them. Jace begrudgingly agreed. They saved many people that day, but an order from an ambitious Republic Officer caused cost the lives of Jace's entire squad. In the aftermath, Jace's distinguished service record saved Jace from a stint in the brig from his assault on said Officer.
A damaged Jace left the Republic for good and took all of his savings, and his retirement money and bought a beat up freighter. She could fly, she just needed some love, and a crew. But it was his., and he named her the "Defiance"
